Always reliable for quality pre-theatre. Good food, efficient service, lovely space. Best fries anywhere!
Good food and service! One of the few restaurants in the Theater District that gets it right for brunch and lunch!
Arrived earlier which was no problem. Had a nice roomy table. Food brought promptly but no one checked back to see how things were, although all was fine. Took a bit to get the check. But I would return here.
There were not enough waiters and service was very slow.
A very good French restaurant in the Theater District.
Simplement un peu déçu que les employés (à l’exception de l’hôte) ne parlent pas le français.
Le “cousin” québécois.
The food was outstanding. Risotto for an appetizer and chicken paillard for dinner. Both were absolutely delicious. My sister had the hanger steak and also thought that was excellent. The service was attentive yet not intrusive and the tables were not crowded together as they are at so many NYC restaurants. I will definitely be back.
My reservation was for after the lunch crowd so the restaurant was empty (2:30pm). The fresh tuna in the nicoise salad was perfectly done as requested, a generous portion of tuna and salad. It's always a treat to dine at Marseille, especially in the theater district.
Usually very good, our meal was excellent this particular evening.
Marseille never fails to exceed my expectations. From the warm greeting to the exceptional service to the consistently outstanding food - from the simple to the sublime, they get it all right. I live in the neighborhood, so perhaps I'm a little prejudiced, but I always love every evening I spend at Marseille. I had the lamb - it was perfection. One of my guests had a fish that looked fantastic, and my other guest had the burger, which was awesome. We started with the lump crab meat appetizer which was fresh and terrific. And our waiter was as nice as he was handsome. What a great evening.
Love Marseille for its ambience and consistency in quality food.
Went for brunch and we had the bottomless Mimosas and had no problems with refills. The service and food were both excellent.
Have been to restaurant many times and this was first time we asked to be seated outdoors - unfortunately the hostess placed us next to two 10 year old kids who were left parentless while they shopped - initially kids were ok but than they started getting wild at which point we asked to be moved This overshadowed our evening and was disappointing they would allow children without parents at the restaurant so late in evening
The perfect New York City experience. No one rushed us, and the food was excellent. Always a pleasure (so far).
Great venue. Flo, hostess on Saturday night, honored my written request for a table. Brava!
Convenient to the Theater District, with reliable, traditional French cuisine. As at many restaurants in the area, prices are a bit high for what is basically bistro food. Good service marred, on this visit, by a surprisingly long wait for a table despite having a reservation.
Went there after a matinee. My party of 6 enjoyed the meals and drinks. I had the beef tartare which I thought was excellent. The duck special also received high marks. The place is a little noisy. We were seated near the front door which created a bit of traffic by the table but otherwise I would definitely recommend Marseille for dining in the theater district.
Came here for brunch on me & my boyfriend’s anniversary. Very cute place with good service. Food was good but I found it to be quite salty (my boyfriend disagreed though!). Would definitely recommend for a date!
Perfect setting for brunch. The food is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is lively.
Love Marseille & eat there every time we’re in NYC. My favorite appetizer, grilled octopus, was different this time—less octopus & more greens/filler—a bit disappointed. B
House made pate was fabulous.Lovely reasonably priced wine. Service and ambiance were great. Mussels were fine but nothing exceptional but the frites were memorable.
Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance matched the name. A french bistro. We were very happy with the space. Service was good. The food was superb.
Marseille is my restaurant of choice in the Theater District. It is always outstanding from the ambiance, to the service to the wonderful food.
Great breakfast options. Our server had way too many tables, and we had to flag him down a couple of times, but in all, it was a great experience.
Soft shell crab special was terrific! Veggie couscous always dependable.
The food and service were terrific. I would have given it more stars if it was not so noisy. This was the 4th time I have dined there and would go back again.
Wonder place! We would definitely go back again.
Wonderful food. Came back the second day and ordered the identical meal. A beautiful room.
Great pre theater spot!
I would certainly go back!
We go here anytime we’re seeing a show in the area. Fantastic food and service.
I have dined at the lovely restaurant many times and brought new friends this weekend for dinner. Everyone loved the food, ambiance and service. This consistently pleases all.
We had a lovely pre=theater lunch outside with wonderful Jonny as our waitstaff.
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! the bill took a little while to get the end but it was Saturday during a busy brunch morning.
Marseille has always had a special place in my heart. I used to live around the corner from the restaurant and would eat at the bar many nights after a long day at the office - it was a perfect end to a stressful day. The service was impeccable, the food, delectable. 10 years, it’s exactly the same. Perfect!
Great location for a pre-theater dinner. Service was excellent and friendly. I would return.
We enjoyed the restaurant enormously and would be happy to return again.
Very nice meal experience. I left my credit card, and they immediately called me to let me know, and held for me until after our show.
Great before theater. The food is good and a great variety for everyone
As per usual, it was a pleasure eating at Marseille. The waiter was attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. It's one of our favorite places.
