   overall a good experience, food slightly better than you get at most hotels, friendly staff, but not enough of them, as after each coarse the plates were left on the table, at the end of the meal could'nt find a spot for my dessert, until i put the plates on the next table to make some room!

   Enjoyed our Christmas Dinner at the Marriott Hotel York. The staff were very polite and helpful. Food was most enjoyable.

   Visited as part of an overnight stay, staff were friendly and helpful. Menu was varied with seasonal specials board. Service was quick but not rushed and food was excellent, good sized portions. Grill menu offered selection of steaks and these were of excellent quality.

   Food very expensive for what you got bit that's hotel prices for you .. the stall even though lively pleasant attentive very rushed ..

   Would be better if customer is informed that the home made bread offered is not free. Could do with more sea food choices. The girl in the egg station during breakfast can do with smile :) The bacon is very rubbery and hard. The portion of pancake is very small looks like kids portion. On the positive note, waitresses especially the europeans are very nice. We asked for gammon & chips for dinner and was granted even not in the menu.

   Pleasant staff, attentive when required reasonable choice on the menu but no specials board. Well presented and hot food, well cooked and tasty. Enjoyable and would use again

   We had dinner on both evenings of a two-day stay in the hotel and found the quality of catering excellent with the dishes being prepared by a chef and his/her team who are obviously well on top of their game. Menu could have been a bit wider but the dishes we had were of excellent quality and ones we shall remember for a long time. The breakfast was also very good (all elements of the English breakfast were cooked to perfection (even scrambled eggs, which we had given up trying to find well prepared in any hotel!), while the Continental breakfast had a very wide range of types of bread, cold meant, cheeses, preserves, fruit etc. to choose from. Excellent starts ANS ends to the day!

   We stayed for a few days and had one lunch and one dinner at the hotel. Given the flooding of the racecourse the ambiance was scored lower than it might well have been on a sunny day! The service was very good though and both meals were better than we expected, well cooked and well presented and good value.

    Service was pretty poor as the workers didn't seem to engage with us or give us the impression they enjoy their job.
