Marrakech Mediterranean Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The service was not attentive. They failed to go the extra mile. Manager did not ask how things were although we complained that some foreign object was in my drink. Waiter just made an excuse.
Food was great... belly dancers where great...however. they need to train waiters.
I almost opted not to rave about this place so that I could keep it a secret, but that wouldn't be unfair. This place was amazing. I went with a group and we had a 6 course pre fix amazing meal for less than $80 per person with at least two drinks. The staff was attentive, drinks well made, I could eat there everyday forever. The place is cozy but didn't feel small. Great ambiance. The belly dancers were fun as well. All in all a great night.
Pleasant evening. My husband & I had been to the "old" Marrakech when it was on Maryland Parkway years ago. I was disappointed in the changes to make the restaurant more "tourist oriented" which have given it a much less authentic feeling. In the past, there were pillows on the floor for seating around the table -- now there is a "bench on one side & chairs on the other. Now there is the option to use flatware in place of hands & the menu starts with shrimp scampi in place of the traditional chicken pastila (sp?) which is now filled with bananas or pears & served as the desert. A loaf of sliced bread accompanies the meal rather than the rustic pita-type bread. There are very few, rather overpriced wine options, & the "tent room" is brighter, although still great decor. All in all, it was a nice dinner . . . especially if one doesn't have expectations of recovering the past.
We had read on line about this restaurant on line and wanted to try something new while in Vegas. We used Uber to get to the restaurant from the Las Vegas Strip. This was well worth the ride! Once you are seated, you have rose petal water washed over your hands in a large silver bowl. The menu is a 6-course meal for $49.99. You start with a large plate of shrimp scampi in a broth that you dip the bread into. Next, you get a cup of lentil soup. After that, they bring you a vegetable plate that has marinated carrots, pita chips, cucumbers, olives, eggplant dip, and hummus. What we enjoyed best were the shish kabobs that were served on long skewers inside a large pineapple. The meat was EXCELLENT. I would have liked to order just the shish kabobs for a whole meal! The main entrée (we were already full by then) was a chicken platter with couscous and vegetables. Be careful, because the chicken is on the bone. Last, we had a dinner plate sized dessert which was like a flaky crust with chocolate and bananas. We couldn't even finish it! We were given an spearmint hot tea, and ended the meal with our hands being rinsed with the rose petal water.
The belly dancer came out twice while we were there. You know she is going to come out because they turn the music up louder. There were four tables of people there, and she made sure she came towards each table. She would invite you up to dance with her. Our daughter did so, which made for fun photos.
We enjoyed our time there very much. The only down fall was that there was no Wi-Fi in there, so we had to go next door to a Japanese restaurant (which smelled delicious, by the way) and they graciously gave us their code so we could call Uber to get back to our hotel.
I would recommend this restaurant to those who are wanting something different to do and a place that you are definitely getting a lot of food for your money. It was the highlight of our trip!
Brought my family here (older teenagers) and had a blast!! Enjoyed the bellydancing and our waiter was wonderful. I loved the hummus! Brought back good memories. Only thing I didn't care for was the lentil soup, but everything else made up for it. Loved the dimmed lighting and ambience. Will go again when we visit Vegas!
