bacon, cebollin y crema de limón
Paco Está Lucío
Spirit Forward, wine based cocktail. Red wine, Cardenal Mendoza, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, angustura bitters
Refreshing, sweet, citric, and a bit festive. White rum, Passion fruit, Rosemary infused honey, ginger tea, lime juice, aquafaba, dash of cinnamon
We loved the food! Just missed having cocktails (there was no bartender the night we went).
Service was good, too. Just a suggestion for everyone in the industry, including chefs, owners and general managers. Staff must be trained to know every ingredient and product in the menu to offer excellence and go beyond expectations.
But, I repeat, I would visit Marocha again. It was a pleasant first time.
Had an amazing food experience here, highly recommend!
Appetizers arrived before drinks. Waiter wasnt fully attentive. Drinks were okay. Food was delicious.
Half of the menu items were NOT available. Signature cocktails are way too sweet. Service and ambience were great. Deserts were amazing.
Fantastic time! Great food, drinks and service. When you’re in PR and want a local place; put this at the top of the list!
Food was great!!
Slow service, waited 40 minutes for drinks when we first got there. None of their cocktails from their menu were available.
Great food hidden in a small place.
Día de las Madres
Regular menu was not available, but no warning was offered when making the reservation. They only had a Mother’s Day brunch special with 5 entrees to choose from, nothing else. No appetizers or lunch/dinner dishes.
No parking available. When I asked about where to park I was told to park on the side, blocking others and I could move the car later if needed.
They had no sparkling water, as the claim to have run out. We asked for sunny side up and got well done eggs, ordered an extra side of bacon and basically got a lump of coal, as bacon was burnt.
I will never return and will make sure others know about experience, in hopes to save them from a terrible dining fiasco.
Just like EL Café Eline Sánchez does it again. Perfect french toast, potatoes and benedict's. Coffee on point. Glad she is back in business.
Food was excellent. Unfortunately, it seemed the server was new and it took forever with our drinks. Even for a glass of wine. I waited an hour for my first cocktail to arrive. Other than the poor service, food was excellent.
The blonde waitress needs a little bit more tack and attention when dealing with customers. Also if it closes at 8pm the "opentable" app should not let people make a 7:15pm reservation. Thanks!
Very slow service. Bar and Kitchen
We will return.
Service and ambiance were good but, there were many items from the menu that were not available including desserts. They have 3 dessert options and none were available. I ordered the fish plate and they offered to exchange it for cod because the fish they had wasn’t good. They need to work hard on maintaining a good inventory of their foods and not wait until they run out to then have to tell client that what they ordered is not an option.
From the moment we walked in the staff greeted us and were extremely friendly and prompt. We picked where we sat and they were very attentive to us. We ordered food and 10/10 the best food we had in our entire trip. I ordered the Charusca a la Plancha with rice and my boyfriend ordered the Pollo a la Plancha with white rice. Gabriel even went the extra mile of ensuring we got the best picture for our anniversary. At no point did we feel like outcasts. They made us feel super welcome. Thank you Gabriel and Thank you to the staff at Marocha. You made our visit unforgettable and a point of highlight for our trip.
Great experience, delicious food and great ambience
Super rico todo! Y excelente servicio. He quedado impresionada. Los recomiendo y volvere! Gracias! / Everything was exquisite! Also excellent service. I was impressed. Recommended and I’ll be back! Thank you, guys! EXITO
They were out of a lot of ingredients and products. So we decided to go somewhere else since the options were very limited. It was a saturday at 5:30pm, when the opens for dinner. They were supposed to be ready to serve. A lot of other customers did the same as us.
Felt like it was the first week of opening.
Brunch was ok, but not outstanding.
Pedí dos platos y solo salió uno, osea mi hija ese día se quedó sin comer, tuvimos que llegar a casa a cocinar, cuando reservé desde las 6pm
What is it that kitchens can't seem to cook meat and fish so both are correct? This time the fish (Cartucho) was great and the veal chop was cold, they replaced it quickly an it was undercooked, but it was tasty just wish they could figure it out. The place is nice outdoor seating good, service could be a bit better trained. Overall we will go again. By the way we are locals we live in San Juan
We arrived for our reservation about 15 minutes behind. When we got there, our table was not ready. We quickly learned they were short staffed. 45 minutes later, we did not have water service nor any food. The appetizers finally arrived and they were delicious. Well made, quite innovative and well crafted. Sadly, we never made it to our main course because of there being a curfew of 9pm and the service being so slow. They were also out of plenty of items on the menu, including lemon AND lime both alike. We had placed our order, (after being told of many items being out). Shortly thereafter, the manager who was also our server (one of the only 3 people working that night), shared we had to leave and our table had to be closed because of the local madate/curfew. The manager seemed to be terribly embarrassed and sadly overwhelmed. He was incredibly kind but it was clear that they did not have enough staff working. This was definitely a moment where an experienced leader/owner should have been in the building given the personnel issues and the special circumstances this curfew creates for them.
The food, and the concept is genial. What a shame the management of the house/business is not up to par with it. Complete shame....and our night was ruined because we didn't get to have dinner.
If Open Table would let me assign 0 stars, that would be my rating. I cannot express how disappointed I am of this restaurant. Only two drinks from the menu were available, one of them was not even good. 30 minutes after ordering our food, the waitress let us know that what we ordered was not available; that of the three steaks that we ordered only one was available and that “we could fight over the one that was left”. After the food was ready, they packed our food to go because the closing time was at 9:00 (we had been there since 7:00pm) due to COVID and even asked for tip. We reserved a table outside and they assign us a table inside. For all this they did not even apologize. I honestly would not recommend this place for any occasion unfortunately.
Food was excellent!
Drinks creative and great taste!
Recommend an additional server in main
Definitely will be back !!
The gentleman that helped was very attending and helpful with the recommendations that he gave and offered, I would 100% come back! Very delicious food and the presentation of the food was beautiful!
Kitchen was extremely slow and the food arrived very cold. I would avoid this place until they figure out the kitchen. Wait staff was cordial and did their best.
Made a reservation, went to the restaurant and told it was closed.
Server was nice. They were out of a lot of ingredients. Found a piece of plastic in our pasta. By piece of plastic it
The food at Marocha Cocina Creativa was excellent, especially the Masitas de Mero. The cocktails we tried were delicious and creative. As we were three, we tried Paco esta lucio, Siempre tropi and La marochita. Our server was helpful and friendly. Considering the restrictions because of COVID, the restaurant offers safe and distant, inside and outside dining. Great relaxing ambiance for a couple or small family dinner.
Overall, it was good but few things from the Menu wasn't available. And my friend received the food cold and when they reheated, the plate stand by a while waiting for somebody to bring the plate back. It wasn't hot😔
The Monte Cristo sándwich and the papas lionesas were delicious!
They had a different menu than listed and only 2 items available. Waited one hour for drinks and then was told the bar was closed. Then we waited 2 hours for food we didn't want to order but it was the only thing available. We saw multiple parties who had reservations not even be served food because there wasn't enough. Don't eat here.
Bottom line first: one of the worst dining experiences I can remember, all the more sad because what little food did arrive was excellent.
Our party of 5 arrived at 8PM and were seated promptly. The server took cocktail orders, but then returned to say none of the called brands were available. After reordering we proceeded to order dinner, at which point the server realized we had not been told what was unavailable- more than half the menu! We revamped our selections with some difficulty. The cocktails arrived and three were wrong and had to be sent back. When the starters arrived the server said one guest’s was unavailable. Only two alternatives were offered, and he opted to wait for the entrees. The appetizers that did arrive were excellent. And then we waited…and waited. At 10:30PM, two and a half hours after being seated, we gave up, requested the check and left. There was no explanation or apology offered, either by the server or the management. Because of COVID restrictions in San Juan all businesses must close at 11PM, so there was nowhere we could eat. I would strongly advise any considering this restaurant to find an alternative. Deplorable.
Food was great, but service was so slow.
The wait staff took 30 minutes past our resevervation time to seat us. After we were seated we had to wait another 20 minutes to order some appetizers and drinks. Another 15minutes later, half the table gets drinks while the other 3 just wait with no explanation.
Another 20 minutes later (nearly 2 hours already), we see the manager carrying more ice into the bar where they’d apparently run out and shortly after the rest of the drinks were ready. Another uncomfortably long wait later and we got a single appetizer.
Earlier we tried to flag down our waitress but to no avail so finally, after recognizing the delays, we signaled to her that we were ready to order. Recognizing the immense delays, we tried to order our main courses which is when we were informed that the kitchen had ran out of the appetizers we ordered, all the vegetarian dishes and LIMES, leaving exclusively grilled chicken entrees.
Expecting a nice meal may have been our shortfall as eventually the waiter (came from the kitchen) came out to hear our issues. This was the cherry on top. NOT ONLY did he try to gaslight our attempts to share why the experience was inadequate BUT ALSO he went back to the kitchen and called us derogatory words to the other staff.
I try to be a patient and understanding person but a restaurant that markets itself like this cannot treat customers so poorly especially without even offering to comp part of the meal due to the fact that
TL;DR nothing was available, the wait times were immense and unexplained, and we, along with other diners were told all of this over an hour and a half after ordering.
Good atmosphere, Service was excellent, food was good just some dishes not that good (filete de dorado) but others were excellent (shrimp tempura, montaditos de alcapurria con ropa vieja).
Will give them a second try.
The worst dining experience bar none. Walked out after an hour and a half and had not even gotten appetizers. Staff did not care, and behaved as though we were bothering them. No apologies from staff whatsoever. We chose to starve rather than remain in a toxic environment with hostile hipster staff. Would not recommend to my worst enemy
