Marmont Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
A few days before our reservation I called the restaurant to see if I can get an earlier time. No one answered but I found out later that they weren't at that time. The owner personally called me back within minutes and was extremely accommodating . He told me that even though I had a 2pm reservation he put a note saying that we can get a dinner menu even though it was lunchtime. When we got there, there was a weird smell in the restaurant. Noone said anything until after we left. There was only 1 other family there which I was surprised since it was the day before Fathers Day. The waitress was very friendly. The food was very good other than the very salty fries. They did bring us another batch with no salt pretty quickly. The surrounding area was just ok. The corners of the tables seem to be peeling which looked kind of gross, but I let that be. I couldn't change tables since they all looked like that. When it was time to go to the restroom I noticed that I was sliding on the floor on the way to the bathroom. I kept sliding when I got inside the bathroom. There was some kind of grease or some kind of substance on the floor where I was sitting at that got on the bottom of my shoes. I had on wedge heels so I thought I was going to fall. My husband and 3 boys had the same floor experience. The food was good, but the overall experience was just ok.
Food was good for the price. Service was poor. I was charged twice for my meal and management completely botched it! I gave them several opportunities to make it right but the lady wouldn't stop talking about how it was "ok"... it's not ok. I paid 120$ for a 60$ meal.
Go elsewhere and get the service you deserve.
We were recommended to go there by our concierge and all of us loved the meal. The mushroom risotto and Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the steaks were amazing as well. The only criticism was that the first glass of wine I was served was obviously not fresh, but the waitress replaced it without question and the second was delicious.
I love steakhouses. Had the ny strip with bleu cheese butter. Wife had crabcake. Sides crab mac and brussel sprouts. Also had house salad and crab bisque. Food was good, not great (solid B on grading scale). On same level as sugarhouse casino steakhouse, slightly ahead as Marmont better attempts to be flavorful. Was my first time and I would go again. Wife agrees.
This restaurant was chosen for a business dinner from the description on OpenTable and it did not disappoint. The steaks were great, cooked to precision and tender. The waitress recommended bread pudding was terrific with cranberries and raisins. A must try dessert when dining here.
Sadly, I had a horrific experience here. It was my one year anniversary and the food was nearly uneatable. The service was slow, the food was over-seasoned and over-cooked. The manager was very nice, offered to make amends with a round of drinks, but we were so ready to get out of there that we declined. I think that this place could be amazing given the location and ambiance of the restaurant if they hired new chefs.
This place was recommended to us by our hotel and I'm glad we went! This place is a neighborhood gem. Nice casual bar/grill atmosphere, but the food was more like an upscale steakhouse without the upscale prices. Steaks were cooked PERFECTLY, portions were generous, and the sides (we had mashed, broccolini, and Brussels) were so FRESH , flavorful and nicely portioned. Go there hungry! Very good kids menu as well, - Mac n cheese was excellent. This place Has some funky decor going on as well- at first I thought someone went crazy with an ax to the floor... but I'm pretty sure this was all part of the charm!
Hopefully we will be back in philly to visit this joint. A+.
My fiancé and I were in Philly for the weekend to celebrate his birthday. Marmont was the perfect place to go on a romantic dinner and it is right around the corner from the hotel we stayed in. The service was good and the food was amazing. We had the special, lobster ravioli in an Alfredo sauce and the NY strip with sautéed spinach and diced tomatoes. Definitely will go again!
Went for my boyfriend's birthday. I'd been there before, he had not. He had a cocktail he wasn't happy with but the next cocktail they did well for him as he requested it. Food was good, but not good as I recalled it being. Filet oscar came out a bit cold. Waiter was new, sweet kid but obviously not super experienced at serving. Overall the least pleasing of my four or five times there, although not unpleasant and rather inexpensive for a night in the city with drinks, apps and dessert.
Good food, good location and friendly staff. The steak was not quite medium rare but more on the medium side (this happens in many steakhouses, unfortunately). The restaurant looks more like a pub than what you would expect a steakhouse would look like. Food was excellent. It would have been even better if hotter. Overall, I recommend Marmont and encourage all who consider a visit.
I had the filet top salad and it was AMAZING. Perfect amount of dressing, the meat was the perfect temperature and well - seasoned. There was a Valentine's menu that had great and affordable options. I would definitely go again! The only negative is that there is not much privacy as the tables are pretty close together.
The food was okay it wasn't what I expected. My fiancee & I drove from NJ excited to eat a good steak. My steak needed seasoning, the crab mac & cheese wasn't that good it tasted better the next day. The food wasn't worth the drive from NJ. We were a little disappointed about the whole experience. The restaurant is small & cozy if you like sitting close to another party it's fine. The staff was very nice!
My fiance and I went during Restaurant Week and it got crowded pretty quickly. The restaurant is pretty small, so there's no place to stand if you have to wait for a table. We were seated right by the door so every time people arrived or left, it was extremely cold. The door would take a while to close or sometimes not close all the way, so the restaurant was chilly. They have curtains in front of the door, and the staff tried to close the door immediately, but they definitely need to look into changing that set up because it was cold. On the plus side, our server was great! She was very friendly and checked on us multiple times. The food was great too. I got the crab bisque and ribeye steak which were both really good. My fiance got the cheesesteak spring rolls, and the ribeye. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and his rolls were tasty. We added on sides of mac and cheese and mushroom risotto. The mac and cheese was really cheesy, but the mushroom risotto was average. We also got bread pudding for dessert. It was delicious. We will definitely be back to see what's on the regular menu, but we'll sit towards the kitchen if we go back during Winter.
We went here for dinner during Philadelphia Restaurant week because the menu was quite attractive--a 4 course meal including a New York Strip steak for $35 is certainly hard to beat. The restaurant was extremely busy but we were seated quickly and didn't have to wait long at all for our food. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend!
The food was delicious!!! My boyfriend and I was a little uncomfortable. Just to close to the other tables. We were to close that when the server came to the table next to us to fill the glasses with water his butt was right on top of my boyfriend. But, again the food was amazing, our server was very nice.
