Food and drinks were amazing!
The food and drinks were amazing. The shrimp and stuffed tilapia were to die for. I loved the intimate atmosphere and can not wait to go back!
Steaks were well-seasoned and tasted devine, as always. Ambiance was intimate. The combination of the two has drawn my husband and I there for almost a decade. Highly recommended.
I made the reservation on your website but when we showed up the restaurant was CLOSED. Was quite upset to say the least since we had theater tickets.
Great food- best crab Mac and cheese ever! Great attentive service.
The food was nice, but it was very cold in the restaurant. I had to put my jacket on.
It was a nice place. The only problem was that our steaks came out well done when we ordered medium. I did get a Strip and My fiance' got a Ribeye. They took the steaks back and came out again. My steak was great but my fiance's steak was supposed to be ribeye and they gave him a strip. He didn't say anything because by this point he was just hungry and wanted to eat. Next time maybe just have the server make sure when she returns the first steak to get it fixed not to return it with a strip.
Everything else was great. We loved the atmosphere.
We had a 5:00 dinner reservation. We sat at the bar for a cocktail prior to sitting at our table. The bartender was very pleasant and made a wonderful Dirty Martini. When we sat at our table it was approximately 5:30. On a Saturday night at 5:30 you would think that they wouldn't have run out of shrimp already but that was the case. Very disappointing to say the least. I ordered the meatloaf which was swimming in a very dark brown gravy..not very appealing. My date wanted the Mussels & Shrimp over pasta but since they had no shrimp we settled for a very fishy tasting crab meat. I had a voucher for 1 appetizer which we chose Crab Mac and Cheese which was very good, two dinners (up to $28) and two glasses of wine. I am thankful that I had the voucher because the price of the dinner would have been very expensive and definitely not worth it. We will not be back....
We happened to be sitting at a two top by the door and it was cold outside so that affected the dining experience. However, we went for restaurant week and we had more than enough food (4 courses!) unfortunately my steak was just a bad cut of meat. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned correctly, but not the best cut. Everything else we had, crab bisque, cheesesteak egg rolls, calamari and Lobster ravioli were fantastic! I'd go back and try again.
Food wise, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Staff wise, they were wonderful and tried to be as accommodating as they could be.
Atmosphere I would not recommend this restaurant for a nice night out. I had no idea that it was a real bar with a few tables very close to the bar and TV's ( which we had no clue were there ). We showed up for restaurant week with 6 people. All we knew was that it was casual steak house.
People were at the bar screaming at the TV and the clientele were so loud. This is not a place I would go to again for dinner- maybe lunch. We wanted a nice evening at a very nice restaurant and we did not get that.
On top of that, they were way overbooked by OpenTable. Because it was a bar, it took way too long to get our seats because non of the clientele wanted to leave and actually refused to do so.
I will also never book on OpenTable again. I wrote to you about this and got an email back saying it was the restaurant's fault, when i know in fact is was not. This is the 3rd time you have screwed up.
We waited over an hour for our reservation during restaurant week, as did many others. Although they offered us free drinks for our wait, it was only offered after a lot of complaining to management- this probably should have been offered off the bat, since there were at least 30 people in the same boat, waiting upwards of 90 min for a reservation. After being seated, I felt very rushed through courses bc they were trying to catch up from their lag time. They brought out the second course before I was done the first.
Otherwise, the food was phenomenal. I would recommend the food to anyone
The best thing about Marmont Steakhouse is the excellent service. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu & very attentive. The hostess was also very friendly & made us feel welcome. The overall food quality was slightly above average. My soup was lukewarm but otherwise tasty. My salad was bland & very dry. I had the crab stuffed tilapia with risotto. The risotto was very good but the crabmeat was bland, as was the tilapia.
It is in a small area. Took a little while to get seated even with reservations and for the waiter to take are order. Food was very good but probably won’t come back.
Usually enjoy my experience there. Tonight was a little off. Dad enjoyed his steak. I had the stuffed tilapia.. needed a little more seasoning. Bread pudding and the Mangotini were the highlight of the meal, along with the seafood bisque.
Very Disappointed. Not sure how this was Rated 2018 Diners choice???
It was Restaurant Week, a nice way to end the last day.
The soups and steaks were great, the fish not so much, and the sauces for the calamary and asparagus were bland.
Me and my husband came here a year ago for restaurant week and really enjoyed the food so we wanted to try it again. I'm glad we did as we really enjoyed our experience once again. Appetizers - cheese steak roll, very juicy, not dry. I am glad I tried it. I had rib eye steak. It was tasty and the best macaroni cheese ever.
My co-workers and I went for restaurant week, it was our first time here and I'm glad we came. I food was excellent the drinks was good and our waitress was the best. I will be returning in the near future. The potato soup is to die for.
The food was tasty...the service was quick...our waitress (Linda) was attentive friendly and had great knowledge of the food that was being served... my husband and I were there for Restaurant Week and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We have decided from this visit and experience that we would visit more often. A great place to dine!
meal was delicious! Everyone was pleasant. Will return!
It was great!
We were in town for tournament at the convention center and it was restaurant week. What a great find! We will definitely be back next year!
as always Marmont never disappoints. Food is always excellent, service on time and atmosphere is great. I am constantly recommending Marmont to folks. Oh, by the way, drinks are excellent!!!!
Our favorite place to visit during Restaurant Week. The staff does an excellent job.
Great food as always
We went during restaurant week and had a great time-our waitress was superb, the atmosphere was laid back such that our group's loud laughter was not insulting to the people around us, and the drinks were decently priced. However, had I paid full price for the food, I would have been very didsapointed. Specifically, I found two large pieces of cartilage in my crab bisque (which otherwise had excellent flavor and balance), the mashed potatoes served with my steak were cold (though rich with butter), and my steak was nothing to write home about (but it was cooked to order). All in all, a good restaurant week guy's night out, but I would not take my partner here for a date and do not consider it on par with some of the more prominent steakhouses closer to Center City.
I would 10/10 not recommend this place nor will I be going back. I went with two friends to enjoy the restuarant week menu..wrong decision. Ordered the wine (which ended up being the best part of the meal and it was from a bottle). The crab bisque was watery, the ceasar salad had a drop of dressing (so essentially I ate plain lettuce), the NY strip...while this was cooked how I asked, it lacked seasoning on it and the mashed potatoes was more of a puree...the dessert, the homemade chocolate cake...while it would be nice to say it was delicious, it was not. It was hard and tasted like it was cooked the day before. My friend had the lobster ravioli. Said to me that it was definitely frozen at some point and if we had put it in front of him, he would not have been able to guess it was lobster ravioli.. overall, very disappointed in this experience.
Very good service. The server was excellent food was good. Portions were gracious
Food was good, the restaurant week menu had good choices. The atmosphere was less than desirable. Two very loud and obnoxious groups. Our seat was the very first seat in the front by the windows. The bench seat was a half seat and was not comforting for my wife. But like I said, food was good, Id return.
We went down for restaurant week. They were very nice and as accommodating as they could be in the situation. The food was excellent. Tight spaces so the noise level was high but at the same time there was an overly loud birthday party there that I don’t think is the norm.
It was over booked. The people were loud and it took 40 minutes for us to be seated even though we had a reservation. The surprise for the honoree was ruined because we were still standing waiting to be seated when she arrived. I won’t be going back even though they had some really good Cabernet
The restaurant was dirty, old dirty tables without even a table cloth. As soon as we were done eating we were asked to leave so they could seat people. Drinks were extremely expensive. The food was average. Was not a place I would return and the other 5 in my party all agree.
Great food and excellent portions. Very quaint. Not for large crowds. Would definitely dine again.
Always rode or walked by The Marmont, never knowing it was a steak restaurant. After making reservations for restaurant week, and really checking it out online. I had a feeling it was good to be good. And I was so right. Everything was perfect, can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu.
The lobster ravioli wasn’t fresh, the sauce for the calamari was plain and bitter(didn’t even taste like cocktail sauce) the ribeye steak was extremely tough and overall the food had a lot of salt!!
Restaurant week visit—-very good value. 4 courses— Potato soup very good. Cesar’s salad —ok not great. Baked Brie excellent. Steak portion very good and cooked to order. Chocolate cake was dry. —This is a bar restaurant, not great ambience. But wait staff very friendly and professional. Good Restaurant week choice if need restaurant in the 200 block of market and not far from historic area.
Food was lacking seasoning and salt. Cheesesteak rolls were very greasy and bland. They had so much cheese and meat shoved into it but no seasoning.
