Food yummy but Service beyond horrible. Will never return here.
One of the best burgers in SF. Great brussels sprouts and fries. Good for people watching.
Perfect lunch spot
Went there for drinks and some nibbles before a show at Hotel Utah. Sat at the bar, received very attentive service from the bartender Sarah, who recommended the Burger.
Had some pink bubbles with fries, and split the burger. Absolutely delicious!!!
Will be back for a proper dinner at this place.
Nice place, very good burger. However not a big choice on the menu. A bit loud
Birthday dinner! Great food and drinks and overall ambiance. Chairs were slightly uncomfortable but overall super great
By no means did Marlowe provide the worst food or experience I've ever had in a restaurant, but it all felt very tired and uninspired. Nothing felt new or fresh - it was all just fine. For the prices, it should be better. Also, being seated in the back room completely ruins the dining experience as you are cut off from the rest of the restaurant and behind the kitchen.
A soggy apple crisp had to be sent back and redone. Otherwise the food was excellent.
Had an amazing early dinner (and first date) here after after the Giants game. The ambiance is stylish but still casual, food and drinks were delicious, and amazing service. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
Great food, great service and on the way back to hotel from AT&T park, but do make a reservation!
Beautiful space, contemporary design. Food was really good, cocktails were great.
I had bath room air stream in my nose all the dinner, that was horrible. That was super noisy
The brunch was delicious. I loved the brûlée citrus and ricotta pear toast. The cappuccino was very good
sf health tax is just ridiculous at a restaurant like this with the prices they charge.
marlowe's should be ashamed.
All was great - except the food Was Meh- the pork chop was extremely grisly and fatty. Under cooked as well . Service was great , cocktails were superb !
Had a nice evening w friends after the Giants game. Great food ad great service
Great food and ambience!
The service was as always, really really good. The food appeared to be slightly over seasoned (Little Gen Salad and Fries) but overall it was a good experience.
Food was good but the experience was nothing special.
The staff at the door took a while to get us seated eventhough we had a reservation.
Amazing food, very attentive staff
Great cocktails a fantastic bartender made delicious cocktails especially the mezcal old-fashion. The oysters were fantastic.
Not many vegetarian options for brunch!
I like Marlowe. It’s solid. My favorite is to sit at the bar for snacks and drinks.
Marlowe is a win, every time. I've found the service can fluctuate, but overall it's a great restaurant with fantastic food. Would recommend.
I had a 11:30 reservation and showed up a few minutes prior and they wouldn't open the doors and let anyone inside even though it was pouring outside since they were still getting ready. So they left 8 of us standing outside in the rain while they got ready which was ridiculous and rude. They also didn't apologize when they finally opened the door. The team should get to work earlier so they can open the doors prior to 11:30 for their first lunch seating or not take reservations until 11:45.
We found this place by accident. It was amazing. The Uber driver said he takes a lot of people there and I can see why. Small and quaint but that’s what makes it special. Great tasting food.
Based on the Yelp and Open Table reviews we made a reservation at Marlowe. We live in Pleasanton and took BART to the Powell Street Station and proceeded down 4th street which was a mistake. We finally arrived and were impressed with the decor and the attentive service. We ordered two dirty martinis, steak tartare, the chick and the cod and then the apple crisp. Overall the drinks were fantastic but our food was mediocre. The flavors in the chicken were weird and unsatisfying. The steak tartare as well as the cod were bland. Creme brûlée was not a dessert option so we ended up with the apple crisp which was fine but nothing amazing. The overall price was high for the meal and we will probably not return to Marlowe
The restaurant is happening, very popular among the hipster set (which is a shame, because Marlowe lives up to a much higher potential - yes, I'm bitter and tired of the hipsters in San Francisco.) Our food was fantastic, the cocktails were amazing and delicious, the bar service was fantastic and our server WAS THE BEST. However, the entire evening was diminished from the start due to the incredibly rude manner the hostess conducted herself. She was rude to every single member of my party (they had all arrived a bit early) and when they inquired about sitting at the bar or waiting in the small reception area, she made it clear to them they were making her life difficult. This kind of behavior is totally uncalled for. She needs to be fired.
Still one of my favorite lunch spots. Chicken sandwich is a guilty pleasure but you can have it with fries AND Salad :)
We had a reservation for 1:15, regular brunch time, but still they already ran out of the shrimp Benedict. My partner ordered the open faced reuben sandwich and first the egg on top was not fully cooked and it was already cold. They replace this with another one in which consisted of almost no meat, no sauerkraut but had a lot of potatoes even though it was not on the ingredients list. The people did not charge us for that sandwich so I can't say anything bad about the service. However, they really should take better stock of their food availability and their cooking.
Very cool vibe and fine ingredients were flavorfully prepared. Fun place.
Not the same! This used to be one of my favorite places but something has changed. The food has gone downhill. I also saw that the health score rating is 88. It is no longer worth the price.
A solid choice, but it didn’t wow me. Very loud and crowded, but it was still comfortable. I had the pork chop and have definitely had better.
What happened to the Marlowe Burger?? I came here several months ago and was blown away by the exceptionally indulgent and mouthwatering burger that this place is famous for, or was famous for. This second time, the burger paled in comparison. It even looked different -- smaller and less extravagant. Lame bun, sticky flat patty and no explosion of varied flavors I enjoyed in the past. I thought I was losing it but my hot dinner date echoed my woes. At least the atmosphere is nice. Nothing like snuggling up with your date in one of the corner booths <3
Below their usual quality food and service.
Marlowe is consistently amazing. Every dish — appetizers, mains and then the finishing desserts!!
Service is impeccable!! Run to Marlowe!!
Marlowe’s Is a gem. The menu is very interesting and varied. All 4 of us ordered different dishes, all were terrific. Service excellent. Our best recommendation!
Very interesting brunch small plates. Presentation and taste superb.
Little gem salad was refreshing and beautifully plated with delicate ribbons of root vegetables. Ribeye was generous-sized, juicy and served with a delicious pan sauce. Enjoyed huge scoops of their vanilla and espresso ice cream for dessert.
