Marlowe is a market driven neighborhood bistro housed in a rustic-chic and inviting space. Bright and bold flavors from a three-star chef and a little family history create an exciting new restaurant concept nestled in San Francisco’s slick SoMa neighborhood. Marlowe was created by restaurateur Anna Weinberg along with a few partners and pals.

Offering a menu of classic bistro favorites with unique and flavorful twists, Marlowe Executive Chef Jennifer Puccio, who earned three stars from the San Francisco Chronicle for her cooking at Cortez, created a mix of snacks, appetizers, mains and sides made up of the kind of food she loves to eat when she’s not working.

Jam packed! The tables are too small and too packed together to comfortable seat parties of four or more. The noise level in a packed room is high, so it became even more difficult to hear guests at our table when music was being blast above. Very distracting.

The food and service, on the hand, were exceptional. The menu could use more than just two entrees. Otherwise, a weekday lunch offering looks more like brunch.

My first time there, and certainly not the last!

We had the steak tartare, chickory salad for apps (both delish), followed by a chicken sandwich, and their outstanding burger. I'll be back!!

We had the open faced Reuben and burger. The Baker was a nice cocktail. Food good but overall
Wont rush back. Service had a sense of entitlement- doing a favor to the customer. Place is a bit cramped too-

Good place to be if you wish to be with a young crowd. Food is quite good at a reasonable price. Service is a bit less attentive than I would have expected. Space is tight and tables are small.

The polenta was great! The ribeye not so much. Nice little restaurant.

Lunch can be very noisy, but the burgers are worth it.

Marlowe is a meat lovers delight.
High quality food and excellent preparation.
Our server was great. She was friendly and genuinely concerned about our experience.
Noise level is a bit high during late lunch for conversation since I have some hearing loss, and Marlowe is a popular spot.
It is quieter during early lunch or dinner.

Everything was great! Foods amazing and front hosts/ servers offered drinks while we waited for our table. Would give five stars only problem was I booked the reservation a week prior 8pm and we have to wait until 830 for our table

Actually, I've always wanted to give this restaurant a 5 star, because every time I would fly up to Bay area this place would be to go for brunch or drinks and I would drive from San Jose after flight from San Diego just for their Pimm's Cup cocktail and some nibble... Unfortunately, after 4 times dinning here this last Saturday 1/27/18 I lost my appetite for Marlowe because of how unwelcome we felt, we made very late 10:30 PM Saturday reservation, we flew in to SF very late so there was not a lot of options to dine so late and when I saw Marlowe on Open Table for 10:30 PM I was exited to try their dinner service, since we loved it previous times.. so we show up on time we have our dinner and of course my fave Pimm's cup and food was decent I mean the kitchen folks were rushing meal, I asked my rib eye medium rare and it came out rare ...

However, since we came so late we could tell everything was rushed and the worst part the staff turned on the lights bright right after we said we don't want any desert... Like really Marlowe? If we are not paying more you low key want us out ? I understand its 11 PM and people want to go home and we are the last table at the restaurant, but its lack of professionalism to turn on the lights bright when you seated us and we are paying for the experience...
It's pity, for great restaurant that it is. Not coming here again, there's other good places in San Francisco with great food, drinks and service that you don't need to feel rushed...

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because when I ordered the devil egg, I didn’t even get the full egg, it was ‘half’ an egg for a price.
Other than that the food tasted great, ambiance is great and the music is awesome. Oh and we paid over $70 just for four alcoholic beverages 😱
