Marlowe is a market driven neighborhood bistro housed in a rustic-chic and inviting space. Bright and bold flavors from a three-star chef and a little family history create an exciting new restaurant concept nestled in San Francisco’s slick SoMa neighborhood. Marlowe was created by restaurateur Anna Weinberg along with a few partners and pals.
Offering a menu of classic bistro favorites with unique and flavorful twists, Marlowe Executive Chef Jennifer Puccio, who earned three stars from the San Francisco Chronicle for her cooking at Cortez, created a mix of snacks, appetizers, mains and sides made up of the kind of food she loves to eat when she’s not working.

Marlowe Ratings and Reviews
The food was good, service was great.
Noise level was extremely high causing everyone to yell even louder just to speak across the table.
Really did not like having to pay a so called SF mandate of $12 to cover employee health benefits.
Not worth the aggravation.
Menu was too limited. Only 2 main entree choices? Also, one of my co-workers is vegan and you could not accommodate her at all. With all the vegetables you have for your other dishes, you could no whip up something for her and when she asked to add avocados to her salad minus the steak you communicated it could not be done. Even though there were avocados in some other menu items, it was communicated that you only had enough avocados for the meals that came with it and could not replace the steak in her salad for avocado. That is pretty bad customer service. As far as the menu items we ordered it was just meh...:-( Brussels Sprouts of course were great, the chicken gnocchi entree was not very exciting and the chicken was dried. The steak salad was ok, the shrimp sandwich was unappetizing. It had more cabbage and sauce that actual shrimp, burger was mediocre, etc. Will not be coming back. Server was nice though and very present. I enjoy your sister restaurants Leo's and Park Tavern but this one hmm...
I absolutely loved the food and the ambiance. Marlowe is a hip restaurant with an exciting menu. I also thought most of the waitstaff were phenomenal and very friendly. I had some misunderstandings with the bartender, but everyone else seemed to enjoy him. That can be solved by not eating dinner at the bar in the future. For the food, I definitely recommend a trip to Marlowe.
Absolutely loved the food. We had Sunday brunch and there are not a lot of vegetarian options, but it is a pretty limited menu in general. Ordered the polenta and it was pretty incredible. Also had a vodka cocktail which was so good! The service seemed very professional and nice but wasn't around a couple of times when we needed it. I think it was due to the time and the fact the place was packed but that's the only thing that wasn't perfect about the experience
I was bummed on the food! Was looking forward to trying this place but our main courses for brunch came out luke warm and not really edible. That being said the candy bacon and the ricotta toast were great. Our server was excellent, the decor was attractive and the crowd was fun.
Great find. I don't dine in this part of SF and there were not many brunch options close to the Amtrak station at 4th and King, which is what my friend and I needed. But I was really impressed. Marlowe was great in every respect. Loved the food, the vibe, the staff.
Marlowe has unfortunately gone way downhill. What was once an awesome and consistently delicious experience is now mediocre at best. I couldn't even finish my lunch due to the poor quality and was embarrassed for bringing a customer there to dine. I will never be returning. Save your money and eat elsewhere
Outstanding restaurant - 2nd time there. This time was for dinner. Burger is outstanding. Pork chop is a little large. Service was a little mixed - pork chop came out 5 minutes after others had been served. Also, 2nd round of drinks (Rose and sparkling water) took longer than expected. Ambiance is fun - music is a nice touch. Appetizers and dessert were both good. Would be nice to have "specials" in addition to the menu (menu is limited in scope).
Service was slow (perhaps because it was quite crowded) but the appetizer (burrata with prosciutto) and pan roasted Arctic Char turned out to be excellent choices. We didn't get to have dessert because we asked for the bill at the same we ordered a single dessert to share. It was quite loud and the server didn't quite hear the part about dessert. We waited 10 minutes for the dessert and then realized what had happened but didn't want to go through the whole process again. Just as well because it was a very filling meal.
Will go there again.
It was my b-day dinner and make reservation a month ago. Of course we were on time but table was not even close to ready... 30 mins passed by ... and yes they tried but the available table was meant for 4 ppl so we had to settle with it for 5 of us because we have a show to catch. Couple of appetizers were on house but the entrees were so disappointed. Long story short, i'd recommaend small plates instead of entrees. Service after all was above average tho.
I really enjoyed my overall experience here. I was given a confirmation text message the day before my reservation if i was still wanting my reservation. Also the day of, my Uber was taking forever and I thought I would be 10 mins late and I texted Joyce who had texted the day before to confirm and she was really easy going about the situation.
My date really liked the food. I thought service was okay - I don't think the waiter needs to lean on my chair everytime when he was taking our order and most every other time.
Also, charging the SF health tax is just ridiculous - another 5%, or was it more, to the already almost 9% general tax?
