Offering a menu of classic bistro favorites with unique and flavorful twists, Marlowe Executive Chef Jennifer Puccio, who earned three stars from the San Francisco Chronicle for her cooking at Cortez, created a mix of snacks, appetizers, mains and sides made up of the kind of food she loves to eat when she’s not working.
What Insiders Are Saying
We’re still on the lookout for a Soma go-to, near the ballpark. Marlowe is a base hit but not a home run. (Clever, we know.) That's what we're here for.
Impressed by the professional table service. Food was delicious but fries were too salty.
Service was excellent. Food and drinks? Excellent. A little pricey, but well worth it. Sorry if my party (I) was acting a fool! Please don't ban us (me).
Fun night, good food, favorite spot that has always been consistent and welcoming.
I was wow-ed! The restaurant is stylish, homey and welcoming ... The food is contemporary and creative ... and comforting, simple and delicious all at the same time. The service was excellent. We can’t wait to go back!
First time there and service was impeccable and the food was terrific. We were seated in the patio and it was fabulous. Definitely worth a revisit.
Too loud, limited menu, food is not healthy and salty.
Really good food and the service was extremely friendly. The only minus is the extremely high noise level.
Great lunch location. Service was terrific...very accommodating. Food was good. I recommend Marlowe
The service was great. The food is good. Both of my friend's and my dishes were very salty. I had the chicken which was kind of dry/overcooked. The restaurant is very noisy but it is a fun place to go.
My goodness...the flavors, decor and music selection was 90s tastic. But the food was crazy amazing...will be back to order the rest of the menu. Food for seafood and meat lovers galore. With sassy cocktails for brunch.
Out of town guests
If it’s a hot summer day like yesterday dress cool. There is NO A/C in the restaurant! We were all dying and sweaty by the end of the meal. Besides that the food and staff were great!
Food was ok, but very small portions and high prices. Was very noisy.
Marlowe is my go to for weekend brunch. They were so sweet to my infant son and never rushed us over the course of our 2 hour meal. They were also kind enough to store my stroller and retrieve items from it mid meal.
Great food and service but a little small and or crowded
Once we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated immediately. The restaurant was filling up as we got there and the environment became lively. Our waiter was amazing and attentive. They acknowledged the special day I noted on OpenTable and made our dinner feel special. Food was great, the Marlowe burger was juicy (med rare), full of flavor, and was very easy to eat. The grilled squid/octopus salad was refreshing, the octopus flavor was subtle, making the salad balanced. Would def. come back.
Good food and service. I would highly recommend it
Definitely go there! Excellent food and service. Nice ambiance. Easy access to freeway.
The food was delicious - surprising in it's flavors and just darn yummy. The amount of butter in the brussel sprouts was special. The room is pretty but so so LOUD, it was hard to communicate during a busy lunch. Service was lovely, I really liked the woman who sat us.
Service subpar. Very bad Sewer issue. Salty mushroom entree, cookie dessert unimpressive. pork & steak entree were good. Second time to Marlowe, will explore other SF options.
Awesome brunch spot! Great bloody marry!
The food was great but the service was truly warm and gracious. Will definitely be back!
Always solid. A mainstay in the SF restaurant scene. Eclectic wine list, skip the $10 dessert.
Food was great and so was the service.
Absolutely loved the ambiance. The decor is on point. Loved the communal table at the front. It’s a bit noisy, but also lively and fun, could still have a conversation. We had The Baker and the Bakers Wife for drinks to start - both unique and refreshing combinations! I could have just eaten a dozen of the warm devilled eggs. Wow, were they good!! We had the salmon and chicken and both were exquisitely prepared - flavourful and cooked to perfection. The coffee icecream was the perfect ending!
A couple dishes were “good” but the salmon was truly inspired. I did not know it could be prepared so well.
Loved it!! Service was great
Great Marlowe’s food, wonderful service, enjoyable ambiance - and love my special #69 table 😀
Fabulous! The food and drinks were perfection and the service top notch.
The duck is always fabulous! My husband enjoyed his steak too! I was able to sample the pinots before I chose one! Great restaurant!
Excellent service and the food was really good. They could use a longer wine list.
Fun place to go on a Friday night after work. Lively environment. Great cocktails, and good food. Waiter could have been a bit more helpful in going through the menu, but many great choices so this did not take away from anything.
Great location for enjoying a hamburger before attending Oracle Park events. However the music was too loud for our taste.
The food was incredible! Our waiter was very attentive and so kind. We loved Marlowe!
Good food and friendly neighborhood vibe. Too noisy and a bit more expensive than your average neighborhood joints.
Don’t waste the stomach space, time or calories!!! Service was subpar and only outdone by the mediocre food.
Brought my friend here for a birthday brunch. The food was amazing and love the ambiance
Best fun before a Giants game - we love sitting at the bar deliberately- great food great cocktail heart-starters
