   We arrived on time for reservations, we ordered right away as we were on lunch break from a conference. It took 55 minutes to get our egg sandwich and green salad. Apparently the waiter said the ticket got lost and would prepare right away. No one even apologized. Food was good just took forever.

   Waayyyyyy too noisy. Most of the meal was, "what?" (while holding ears to person). Add in some noise reduction panels please. This would be a great date night spot, but it's too noisy otherwise.

   It was a "fine" experience, the bartender was rude snd snobby, our server was a bit dour but we squeezed a couple of smiles out of him. The greeter was the nicest person we dealt with. The food and drinks were excellent. It's another boujee SF place, so if you can get beyond that, like we did, you will have fun.

   The cocktails were definitely very creative. The food was good overall, but what was interesting was that the appetizers and sides were actually the stars of the meal we had. The entree, burger, was a good but paled in comparison to the sides we ordered - Endive Salad, Deviled eggs, Mushrooms.

   Charred octopus, sunchokes and burger were delicious! Lots of fun cocktails to choose from but very pricey. Also the cauliflower starter was priced at $26 which seemed somewhat high and even higher once we got. It was a very small portion that felt like we were eating cheesy cauliflower mush. But would still return as we know what to order going forward

   We love this place and will return. Problem is, the waitperson acted below unenthusiastic right from the get-go. We know it was the end of the Mothers Day rush which was most definitely challenging. But this person was downright unkind. Before we uttered a word. We smiled and said to each other when along that we would kill the person with kindness and maybe "turn" the situation. Problem was, we only had one more visit from the waitperson which required the two mangers/owners? to take over once they noticed we needed a visit. Anyway, the food was excellent as always and we will give it another try as our brunch was probably our dozenth meal at Marlowe.

   We had barely started eating our delicious Mother's Day brunch when Mom said: "We need to come here every time we take CalTrain up to see you!" And our server, Brian, was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and charming. Five stars all around! PS: I was glad we asked if they had a quiet spot: there's a back room with just four tables. Much better for elderly ears.

    Stylish restaurant with good service and a lively vibe. However, food quality suffered on my dinner visit there in spring 2023. Scallops: good texture but way too salty. Steak: the meat was well cooked, but for the price I would have expected a better cut (i.e. not riddled with gristle and fat). Too bad, I wish I could like this place more.

    Limited menu but excellence in every bite. Recommend the beef cheeks, chicken, octopus and steak. Appetizers were good; not outstanding. Drinks were stellar. Awesome service.

    We have not been to Marlowe since things opened back up and boy were we missing out. All the flavors and energy of a Sunday brunch made our moments there memories to keep. Each of us enjoyed our plates and shared bites (deviled eggs, lemon ricotta doughnuts and battered green beans) immensely. I had the spring scramble with perfectly cooked eggs, asparagus, English peas and artichoke - oh, my! My husband got the burger and it looked amazing. The breakfast sandwich and the special quiche were perfect as well. We will be adding this back to our regular rotation!

    Terrible service for this level of restaurant; we've been many times in the past with good results but between the service and the noise level and the lights being extremely bright throughout the evening, we will not return.

    Marlow, always excellent, although I forgot to ask for no bacon on the burger--my personal preference--I just think the burger is so damn good by itself that anything other than the simple garnishes diminishes it. The problem is, Marlow is so great and small, the noise and crowding is tough--but I guess I wouldn't have it any other way, maybe some acoustic tiling, and to be fair, a lot of the noise was coming from our table.

    I had never been in the back patio and even though it was quiet compared to the very loud main dining space, it was not great. It felt like I was eating inside a small garage with no window. Which I think it’s what it is? I love Marlowe and the main restaurant, but not the experience in the back room.

    This is my second time back, and it was delicious again! The starters are so yummy! We’ve tried the scallops, fried peas, cauliflower carbonara, bone marrow, and octopus! All delicious! My party ordered pork chops, chicken and steak last time those were all fabulous. The risotto wasn’t my favorite but everything else was bomb! We all ordered burgers this time, and really enjoyed. I won’t be surprised if I want to come again!

    Still going strong! Marlowe was a favorite when we were newlyweds and the food has remained as delicious as ever. Nice wine selection and excellent cocktails along with tasty starters, like Brussels sprouts chips and deviled eggs - yum! And the Marlowe burger is one of, if not the best, burgers in SF. The fries, however, are absolutely the best fries in SF! Good service too, we will keep coming back!

    Service was good. Food was well done with the exception of being ill after the meal. We think the aioli was bad. My husband was pretty sick right after dinner. He ate all his aioli and I barely touched mine. My stomach was a little upset afterwards.

    Diverse menu with something delicious for everyone. Very attentive service that provided recommendations and supported the choices we ordered. We were seated in the patio area which didn’t have quite the vibrant vibe as main dining area but was quieter. Really enjoyed our dining experience.

    My boyfriend swears has the best burger in SF and I think he might be right. Also great cocktail, beautiful wine, fun bartenders and the first time ever I liked Brussels sprouts.

    Food, service, value were all OK, if you like bistro-style. What killed it for me was the noise level. You have to literally yell at the person across the table in order to hear. Not going there again.

    We were well taken care of. The drinks and food were delicious and the portion size plentiful. As the meal progressed and the restaurant filled up it was a challenge to carry on a conversation without feeling like I was shouting.

    All the dishes we tried were yummy! The bone marrow was exquisite and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The people I was with tried the pork chop and loved them. Also my party tried steak frites and the chicken with risotto. I was not happy with the temperature of the risotto, but the. However the chicken was soooo good! Crispy, seasoned well, and piping hot! Just the way I like it. I had a latte after dinner and it was delightful:) I am coming back.

    The odd thing about this place is that I felt stuck somewhere between a bar and a restaurant. It is loud and there is music and the lights were turned down low - there isn’t much separation form the actual bar but I wish there was more, like different lighting. The noise and the bar atmosphere distracted from the food. I probably won’t be back.

    it's more expensive and the brussels sprouts portions are smaller than they used to be but Marlowe is still a neighborhood gem, and a hit, and delicious, and I'll be back for sure.
