Offering a menu of classic bistro favorites with unique and flavorful twists, Marlowe Executive Chef Jennifer Puccio, who earned three stars from the San Francisco Chronicle for her cooking at Cortez, created a mix of snacks, appetizers, mains and sides made up of the kind of food she loves to eat when she’s not working.
What Insiders Are Saying
We’re still on the lookout for a Soma go-to, near the ballpark. Marlowe is a base hit but not a home run. (Clever, we know.) That's what we're here for.
Perfect for any occasion
Had a nice comfortable time! No real complaint other than... when you order “Deviled Egg” you might expect one whole egg cut in half yolk deviled, not half of one egg! But, it was tasty!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food! Highly recommended
Food was excellent but expensive. Great service and great wait staff. Small and quite loud, tables are very close together. All in all, I would go back just for the food.
Way overpriced, very cramped, food less than good. Not recommended.
Space and ambiance was good. Had dinner here and food was just okay. Nothing to write home about.
Pork chop was dry and not much taste, angus ribeye was tough & didn't have the marbling as expected. The sides & starters were slightly better than the mains.
Delicious brunch. Space is beautiful but very tight. They were accommodating of children. Forgot that we were celebrating a birthday though I had it in the reservation, but they fixed it. Would go back
The food and service were both outstanding. This was our second time and we were pleased on both visits. This was brunch, and we brought friends. The frittata, scramble, burger and fried grit cake all got a thumbs up. The atmosphere is very sleek and pleasant. We will be back!
The food and cocktails were amazing!! Delicious, fresh and creative. The oysters, burger and chicken sandwich were so fresh. Loved the blood orange margarita with black salt, featured drink. The service was impeccable. We had our toddler with us and the hostess quickly brought a high chair, crayons, and interacted with her. Our server was friendly and the entire team was engaged and happy to work there. We had a great time and would highly recommend Marlowe for lunch or dinner!
The service is always excellent!! The food is great.
Always a wonderful experience!
We had a reservation and had to wait for 20 minutes to get seated. They did not seem too bothered by it.
Nice place. Hear the drinks are great but I don’t drink. Space and ambiance very good. Both my guest and I did not care for our lunch. I hear I should have ordered a burger. :0(. Too many other places to go to for great food.
This is the kind of place you might go for a birthday party, bringing along some Mylar balloons. Marble interior, extremely loud 2011 kid cudi soundtrack, vaguely NYC vibes.
We had a great experience. We could not have asked for a better table. Thank you so much. Service and food were fantastic as well. Marlowe is the perfect place for a date. ❤️
I rarely leave reviews... but this place definitely deserved it! Food, service, ambiance, value... this is the full package! Jeff and Ali took the whole experience to another level! No wonder this place has been around for so long in such a competitive city. Well done Marlowe!!
Great classic spot for a friday night date-- candlelit ambiance. Had the shrimp cocktail, sole, and burger. All great. Burger is hands down one of the best. I would probably do something other than the sole next time though. Cocktail and sauce were on point. Service friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Great meet-up spot with something for everyone. Awesome burgers and brussel sprouts. Cocktail, wine and beer menu is very diverse ... love the Pimms cup!
Great place to dine. We will be back ....... tomorrow
Delicious food. Really good service. Allowed us to take our time.
Radolfo is a great server
All the staff always attends to your needs
A great experience and great food!!
The experience was great, the food was excellent, it is a consistently impressive dining experience, with one exception: it is incredibly loud.
Everything was good, I have no complaints. Came here on a recommendation from a coworker of Marlowe being her favorite restaurant in SF. My expectations were probably a bit higher because of her recommendation, so I didn’t feel really blown away by anything we tried (sole, burger, chicken, cauliflower and cheese, fried string beans). I’d come back to try their brunch (because the ambiance is really nice) but probably not dinner again - too many other places in SF to try!
Made you feel like family. Good food, terrific service and a very pleasant evening for sure!
Meeting friends. Noise level was much higher than usual.
Marlowe is a great place for good food and excellent service; I think we're becoming regulars there.
Very loud and seating was tight but overall a delicious and fun experience. The Brussel Sprout chips were incredible!
Great food but very crowded st lunch time and tables are very close to each other
Top notch wait staff
New menu is just so so. Busy as usual. Overall ok experience.
Eat here at least once a month. Always superb!
Amazing menu & perfect setting for a weekend brunch.
Though it overpacked, that is a part of its charm
It was very good except when they turned on loud music around 7 pm. The music was more appropriate for a bar but not for a restaurant,
WAY TOO NOISY - impossible to have a conversation without screaming! Burger was just okay, anemic portion of lukewarm/cold fries, they were out of the only appetizer we wanted, and biggest pet peeve? ...when a restaurant serves the "wine by the glass" selection in the 2nd class "house wine glass" instead of a proper glass that is provided if you order a bottle of wine.
Food good but lunch hour is insane on the noise side. Not a good place if you are with an older person or want to have a conversation where you don't want to raise your voice.
Fun place! Food was excellent, as was the service. Will go back.
Brussel sprouts melt in your mouth
