Great service, decor and ambiance but I’ve tried the chicken and it was so so, so yesterday I tried the fish, and it was also mediocre.

Food was delicious but service was cold. We showed up a few minutes early for our reservation and we were treated as if we’d made a major social error. It was suggested that we eat at the bar which we did and it was fine. It just seemed as if the restaurant was overwhelmed with the crowd.

Our New Year's Eve dinner was worth the high price. Each of the three courses was exquisite, with subtle and unusual flavor combinations. My tuna appetizer featured tender raw slices of tuna in a beet-lime sauce - the color was stunning! - with tiny pieces of apple and a few small, intense mint leaves.
The portions were small, actually perfect for me. My only disappointment was that the restaurant did not serve coffee.

The restaurant is ideally located if one plans to attend an event at the Cathedral of St. John the Devine. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and the staff was attentive. I would, however, remove some of the pillows on the long bench, which interfere with seating.

Arrived early, but seated immediately. Great cocktails from the bar. Food was exquisitely prepared. Staff set expectations properly for sous-vide plate to allow for any adjustments. Relaxed Christmas eve meal.

Bad attitude from servers. Bad piece of fish. Served weak tea asked for another tea bag and charged for 2nd tea bag. After debate they did reverse the charge

Everything was delicious and the service was super even though the place was packed. Mushroom risotto outstanding as were the beet salad and eggs nest appetizer. Excellent ravioli and chicken. Great neighborhood restaurant.

Good appetizers. The Branzino for main course was perfectly cooked and hot. The garnish was not warm enough and the turnip undercooked.

We made a reservation then couldn’t catch a cab.. called to say we would be 15 min late, when we got there, the hostess managed to find a bar table for two- perfect! The food was excellent, and the medium rare steak was fantastic. The service was excellent and friendly, would definitely go again when in NYC

Four of us had lunch here on Sunday before a concert at the cathedral of St. John the Divine. Two had Nicoise salad, one burrata on toast with a salad and one egg-white omelet. Nothing was left on the plates, and we had great conversations. A good place

We went a few days ago hoping for a good experience, but not really knowing what to expect. The food was excellent, the wait staff warm and helpful and efficient. We had the stuffed chicken and the steak, as well as wonderful appetizers and cocktails. Reasonably priced. We enjoyed the entire evening.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise that I found on Yelp to take my neice to who attends Columbia University. The staff was very charming, enthusiastic about their menu and really pointed us in the right direction for ordering. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its terrific vibe, quaint atmosphere and cool bar.

We had a Sunday Brunch. Everything we ordered was very good but the French toast with pumpkin spice mascarpone were delicious! The atmosphere is very pleasant and friendly. We were a party of 4 and we all enjoyed our Brunch.

Food and ambiance very nice but there was only on server for ALL the tables. He tried his best and was very nice but he ABSOLUTELY needed at least one other person. It’s not fair to him and it undermines the quality of the guests’ experience.

Always lovely to walk into this neighborhood gem and to feel immediately at home in a setting that is convivial with food that brings a bit of "la dolce vita" to Morningside Heights. The staff is as charming as the food is delicious.

This has become a local favorite brunch spot. The UWS, including Columbia, area has a preponderance of very middle of the road restaurants. This place stands out with its charming ambience and service and original and tasty food at a fair price.

The restaurant is pretty with a creative menu. Tuna crudo with tiny diced pear. Ravioli with lemon ricotta. The hostess was more perfunctory than warm. The waitress more efficient than attentive. With a location so close to Columbia U and what I'd suspect would be a broad potential employee base (students who need extra income!) it seems it would not be that difficult to hire staff members who enhance the dining experience versus ones who simply go through the motions. We did appreciate the offer to sample our wines by the glass before choosing our selections but were surprised there was no malbec available. Would definitely go back again but can't help but feel the back of the house deserves a better front of the house.

A lovely local corner bistro with views onto the Close at the Cathedral St. John the Divine, Marlow does a fine job recreating Hemingway's "a clean, well-lighted place" with a charming atmosphere and a courteous staff—and food that is as comforting as the setting.

I dine at Marlow frequently. The food is reliably quite good and the service usually excellent. On this occasion, the service was not quite as efficient as in the past. The restaurant has updated its menu and there are some interesting new offerings. Marlow continues to be a pleasant and reliable place for dinner with friends.

Love the cocktails!!! Esp. We loved the house-made aged manhattan!!! So delicious- only thing it is missing was cherries! But the drinks were our favorite. Very friendly and nice service. Love the focaccia. Overall good food but we were wondering some things were served hot but veggies that are accompanied with were cold.... if it is a hot meal, I want everything hot. It's my preference but overall good experience for sure.

What a find!! We have been back twice and had different things each time and everything was excellent. The tuna crudo and the Burrata amazing. The Brazino is some of the best in the city and the goat cheese beet ravoli were spectacular. It's our new favorite spot. The service is excellent and we tried all of the wait staff reccomendations. They were spot on. Plan on going back with friends. My husband had the octopus and thought it was delicious and he he also had the pasta. He was in heaven.

The space is beautiful, but the service was very slow. I think it took around 30 minutes for our omelettes and burger to arrive. The salad greens did not seem terribly fresh, the side of sauteed mixed vegetables was salty, and the omelettes did not seem to have enough egg and were a bit undercooked. The burger patty was delicious, but the bun was cold. This place has potential, but needs to up its game.

Food is excellent. Service leaves a lot to be desired. The hostess is rude an unfit to be the first person customers encounter. We had a reservation, yet it seemed like a burden for her that we arrived to dine. It took her forever to seat us despite learning from a waiter that our table had actually been ready. Fortunately the waiter was competent and seated us instead. No apology or concern in the world from the hostess who kept us waiting for no reason.
