Perfect food, perfect service!
Service was awful, we made a reservation at 830 for 4 people. We got there on time. The waiter said there were no tables available. the only table available was for 6 people and only for 6 people which we realized later was not true as only 2 people used the same table. Food was awful and the service the same.
Our new, go to neighborhood spot. Good food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced.
Great date spot. Lovely atmosphere and well presented dishes. Not bad
My husband and I love Marlowe Bistro for every occasion -- from date night to a family birthday to a night out with friends. The food is delicious every time we go, and the menu is seasonal. The wait staff remembers us and our small children. This is a true neighborhood gem -- the best restaurant in the Columbia/Morningside Heights/Manhattan Valley neighborhood for sure.
Creative menu and excellent implementation. Our second meal here and will definitely return.
Simply and elegantly delicious. 1/2 price wine bottles a pleasant surprise. A last minute addition to our reserved table size was handled graciously in spite of packed dining room.
They were so rude from beginning to end. Terrible hostess experience- it was insane.
Really wonderful neighborhood spot for brunch! Low key, quiet, not hard to get a table on a weekend afternoon, and the brunch dishes are unique. Highly recommend the poached eggs on polenta with shaved brussels and bacon sauce. Good strong coffee, too.
They run a wonderful kitchen. Really the only drawback was the perplexing music that was unnecessary in this lively environment and which made it a little hard to have a conversation.
Fantastic tasting menu. Great price, awesome food
Great food, good service, but food is served far too fast (starter was barely finished and the main course was served already). Better order dishes separately (eat one first and order the other after that one), otherwise you won't have time to enjoy your wine and conversation! Staff was not very receptive to feedback.
Delicious food. Excellent warm atmosphere. Great friendly service.
This is our third visit to the Bistro and we will keep coming back. Great locally sourced food very well prepared. It seems as if the chef has upped his game- it keeps getting better.
Delicious food, nice ambiance, but tiny portions and overpriced.
Fantastic meal -- loved the ambiance, the food was excellent, overall a stellar experience.
Hesitant to rave about this place because I would hate to see it become so popular that I can no longer get reservations easily... in truth I really love this place and it is now one of my upper west side favorites.
Went with a group and had a really nice meal in an area that seems to be developing. Had a strange experience with the bartender who did not want to make multiple drinks, so had a somewhat offputting start and were seated late. Once we were at a table though, it was a nice, cozy spot with good food.
A charming, convivial atmosphere; thoughtful menu; courteous service. What more could one ask?
Loved this place! Beautiful decor, nice vibe, great food! Will return.
Nice atmosphere, good food, easy neighborhood restaurant that feels just special enough. I find it's a little pricey, but that's OK. Also, excellent Bloody Marys.
Service was horrdenous. Made a reservation and they didnt have a clean table ready. Had to flag down the waitint numerous time just to order.
Took 20 minutes from sitting down to get asked if we wanted anything to drink.
Food was fantastic so Im assuming the chef was the only one who knew how to do something correct.
We loved Marlow- very cute ambiance with wonderful food and cocktail/wine menu!
Truly neighborhood gem!
Wait staff tried to be accommodating, items listed on website are no longer available. Also most items listed on the brunch cocktao9 menu were not available because there was no bartender. Waiter said he could cocktails that were similar. Just need up ordering proseco.
I was disappointed. The prices were high, the portions minute (and I’m not big eater) and the food was only okay.
Won’t be back.
The food is very good and very tasty! I loved everything!
The restaurant was unpleasantly noisy, but that's often the case on a Friday evening. Much more aggravating was being seated in a place where nearly every server bumped into my chair, or into me, when going to and from the kitchen. NOT A SINGLE ONE APOLOGIZED! That's really unacceptable!
There are not that many good restaurants in the neighborhood. Marlow has excellent food and very good wine. Strongly recommend the Sancerre!
The hostess did not acknowledge my reservation although she checked for it and wasn’t pleasant when I asked for a table change. The special deal of the evening was a bottle of quite good wine for half price and we were reminded twice. My dinner partner’s portion of risotto was small but good and my marguerite pizza ample and excellent. The bavoise for dessert was delicious.
My favorite place. Local, foraged, seasonal ingredients Good for vegetarians. Very nice service.
Nice space/atmosphere but the pros end there. Poor service from the moment we arrived. Cocktails alone took 30 minutes to reach our table. The pork belly was dry, steak was inedible and overpriced, the risotto was okay. Would not recommend and will not be back.
Great service, decor and ambiance but I’ve tried the chicken and it was so so, so yesterday I tried the fish, and it was also mediocre.
Food was delicious but service was cold. We showed up a few minutes early for our reservation and we were treated as if we’d made a major social error. It was suggested that we eat at the bar which we did and it was fine. It just seemed as if the restaurant was overwhelmed with the crowd.
Thank you Marlow Bistro! Just a great experience all around.
Innovative and delicious food. Attentive service. Perfect dinner with friends. We even enjoyed the music.
Our New Year's Eve dinner was worth the high price. Each of the three courses was exquisite, with subtle and unusual flavor combinations. My tuna appetizer featured tender raw slices of tuna in a beet-lime sauce - the color was stunning! - with tiny pieces of apple and a few small, intense mint leaves.
The portions were small, actually perfect for me. My only disappointment was that the restaurant did not serve coffee.
For New Year's Eve, they a great prefix menu, all the options where excellent.
The restaurant is ideally located if one plans to attend an event at the Cathedral of St. John the Devine. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and the staff was attentive. I would, however, remove some of the pillows on the long bench, which interfere with seating.
