Husband’s Birthday! 🎉
We enjoyed our dinner at Mark’s, which I’d put in the Morton’s / Fleming’s / Capital Grille class of steakhouse.
Very pricey, but drinks were great, French onion soup and salads were delicious, and entrees were excellent.
We were able to dine outside (very nice, because the interior of the restaurant and the bar were pretty crowded).
Our server was extremely attentive, though the kitchen really took a long while to prepare the entrees.
The steak was AMAZING!!!!!!! The service was just as amazing!
Had to good the filet cooked 3 times for them to get it right. Everything else was great.
Very professional staff and excellently tasting meals
Overall meal was very good. I had the special which was a tomahawk short rib and it wasn’t as tender as I would have expected but overall a good meal.
Outstanding filet. Would highly recommend that restaurant if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with great beef.
Grade A+ on service, atmosphere and Food! This is our 3rd time having dinner here and it most definitely won’t be our last !
Mark’s is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville! We dine there every time we are in Gainesville visiting our son. Our favorites are the filet, creamed spinach, and the excellent wine list!
Always fabulous at Marks but only one thing this last time. They don’t have valet parking due to COVID so they supposedly validate your parking for the parking garage but after they put the sticker on my ticket and I went to leave I still got charged $7 to park.
Wonderful food and excellent service
The food was delicious especially the filet. Our waiter was knowledgeable & easy to interact with. They were excellent with a special request due to food allergies. It was a great experience & we hope to return soon.
What a great experience in every aspect. Service was incredible and the food was amazing. I wish they had more locations in Florida.
Nice ambiance and selection. Little pricey but food was very well prepared.
Cold hostess, great service and amazing food.
Outstanding food from escargot appetizer, ceaser salad, bone in ribeye, new york strip, filet and surf and turf then dessert! Our waiter Tony was awesome! Highly recommended!
Mark’s Prime is at top of my list with Capital Grill and Ruths; I actually like Mark’s better as the atmosphere and ambiance is very warm and authentic. Service is professional and experienced. Looking forward already to my next visit to Gainesville.
We started by splitting the crab cakes appetizer. They were better than most. For entrees, I had the bone-in ribeye. My friend had the lamb chops. Both were excellent. We opted for the Lyonaise potatoes as a side, which were fine. And we split the creme brûlée, which was adequate, but certainly not exceptional.
The service provided by Kayleigh was outstanding, as was the supporting staff.
Dropping off our daughter at UF
Connor was very thorough and knowledgeable. Highly recommend him.
We had a fabulous meal and our server, Kaylee, was helpful, friendly, and overall excellent.
Overall, food was good, though pricier than comparable steakhouses. Escargot and Wellington appetizers were very good, as was the wedge salad. The onion soup was bland, watery with little onion flavor and the cheese on top was not melted, nor browned. It was disappointing. Steaks were terrific and perfectly cooked. Best value we had was the crabcakes. They were really good and well worth the $18. Creme brûlée was ok. Biggest miss were the cappuccinos. We ordered 3 and all 3 came as steamed milk with some cinnamon on top. They forgot the espresso. The excuse was that there was something wrong with the machine so we were not offered replacements.
I love the scenery, the waiter was very helpful with recommendations. Definitely will be looking forward to returning again. The Old Fashion is amazing. Great place!!!
Steaks were good. Sides were good as well. Prices were on the high side for the quality but probably best steaks in the area. My delmonico was great. Girlfriend’s son’s fillet was just ok. Girlfriend’s Strip was medium instead of medium rare.
Bread and drinks delivery super slow but server (Conner) was great.
Food, service from waitstaff was excellent. However general manager Ben was less than helpful. We asked about large group and Advance reservations and we’re shot down immediately by Ben. Saying how understaffed they are, that they couldn’t reserve the private room because they had to use it to turn tables fast. Wow. They use to cater to large groups. Inexplicable.
We ended up waiting over an hour for our dinner order. When the food came out the surf and turf special was completely cold, and we had to return it to be heated. The manager was kind enough to resolve this issue quickly and waive our cocktail drinks and appetizer for the long wait. Our waitress Kailee Tackman provided superb customer service and food and drink recommendations.
The service was phenomenal and the food was wonderfully prepared. We had a great time!
We were a party of 8 celebrating my birthday. It was a wonderful experience and the food was amazing! We will definitely return.
We took my mother-in-law to dinner for her 65th Birthday, she’d never been before. The service was impeccable as usual. The food was delicious, steaks here are perfection!
She was happy she chose Marks!
This was our first visit and it exceeded our expectations. The food was fresh and the service was great. Will definitely go back.
We girlfriend and I had a wonderful time last night. Our server was very good, the food was fantastic and the drinks were amazing. We wil definitely be coming back.
The food was incredible, as was the atmosphere, however part of what made this visit so great was our waiter, Connor. This is for sure our new go to place for a nice dinner in Gainesville. I highly recommend you go and ask for Connor as his recommendations were spot on. Thanks for a wonderful evening and we'll see you soon!
Excellent service but food quality wasn't what we expected. For a high end steak restaurant, we expected the steak to be cooked properly. 3/6 steaks in our party were overcooked. Too much butter on the steak and sides masked the true flavors of the dishes. For the $$$ spent we were looking For a better experience.
We haven’t been to Mark’s in some time. Our experience last night was absolutely wonderful! The food was amazing and the service couldn’t have been better!
Out of town visit. Had an excellent meal and perfect service. We are outside and I got stung by a bee. They were super attentive and even administered some first aid. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a great dinner and some drinks at Mark’s. Scott was our server (at our request), and he took very good care of us. Mark’s is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville - high end food and ambiance, great service and reasonable prices.
A huge thank you to Mark and Connor who made my birthday experience AMAZING. the food was delicious and Mark was super attentive and explanatory towards the specials of the night and the menu overall. He was so nice. Connor was super sweet and as well, very attentive. This was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner or any type of dinner, really. Everyone is so amazing and the hostess was also very kind! We came a little late, I called to let them know, and she adjusted everything for our reservation! I wish I got her name, but, super nice young lady. Can’t wait to come back and dine with y’all again!
Wonder food and drinks with perfect service . Definitely recommend.
First time visiting Mark’s Prime Steakhouse and it was excellent! The portions are large, the steaks were cooked perfectly, the staff were professional and very courteous. If visiting Gainesville add this to your must visit list of restaurants.
Came with some girlfriends to enjoy a nice dining experience and it was great. Found a new bottle of Italian red we loved, enjoyed a bunch of sides, and the company was even better. Our server Zach was super knowledgeable and helpful.
The staff is always attentive and friendly. The food is consistently good. I highly recommend.
