Always liked this restaurant until tonight. Hope it was either a different chef or just an off night. The wine I always drink did not taste right, but they replaces. The special soup was gazpacho. I was leery when they brought it to me in a HUGE bowl. Was the worst I have ever had. Just like some veggies food processed into V8 juice. Exchanged for beet salad which was very good. Had the chicken; way overly salty and a very strange thick "au jus". The best was the chocolate cake although we had to wait a long time to get decaf. Will try once more and hope it returns to the likable place we would eat at.
I was so disappointed by this restaurant - the restaurant itself is lovely and the staff was fine but the lunch menu had no appetizers and the lobster roll was nothing special. I've had better at street fairs. Overall the members of my party were disappointed with the salad options too. We won't be back.
We had a great experience. The food was all delicious and it was a child friendly environment.
What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a nice meal after Sunday-morning church! Eggs benedict (a nice selection of options) were delicious. The wait staff is refreshingly friendly and efficient.
Food is always wonderful, service is always accommodating and pleasant . I have been many times and brought different people, all have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Saturday night dinner with my sister’s family. Everything was delicious and well prepared.
Don't like to post critical reviews but the quality of the food was on par with an overpriced diner.
Good experience. Atmosphere was very nice. Food was just ok.
Very consistent always good food and service menu has a lot to offer.
Despite reservation, was given table in poor location—they did move our table at our request. Server was not good. After 1/2 hour, and seeing us looking toward him he said food coming soon. Another 15 minutes just for entree salad and BLT. Bacon not cooked as asked. Orange juice served in dirty glass. Disappointing overall.
Always excellent food and cocktails. This time we had a large group for weekend brunch and it was a great experience. Kid friendly.
Excellent drinks awesome food.. Great chef..our compliments. A Special Birthday
It is a unique place, love the staff and the food! Near to me, so very convenient to have a good food and a conversation among friends
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner here. The atmosphere was very festive, the service was excellent and most of all, the food was very good. I had the prime rib. It was cooked just the way I like it and portion size was perfect. We will definitely return for other dining occasions.
Great ambience for Christmas Eve. A relatively loud family next to us but not the norm at this restaurant. Waiter was a pro. Appeared when he should and not when he shouldn't. Efficient for all food delivered to and taken away from the table. Handled all special requests in stride.
Food was very good - steak, seafood, and vegetarian. Not cheap but not super expensive either. A good meal at a good place for a good price. What's not to like?
Good atmosphere. Excellent service. Wine and drinks were good. Food is nicely prepared but nothing exciting on the menu. The Tagine is nothing like I had in Morocco.
Music was a little loud at first, but got seated at another table further from bar. However, that ended up with a lot of waiter foot traffic from the kitchen. Could use tablecloths if you have lit oil lamp on table! Some menu items were very good, but nothing really exceptional. Service was attentive though. Dinner Menu seems small(?). Weeknight reservation was not crowded at 7pm. Great ambiance with historic farmhouse feel!
We had an excellent brunch experience at Market Taverne. The menu was perfect for our needs, the food was well prepared, the service was dependable and attentive, and the atmosphere was fine--Lots of room and not too noisy.
Always a great meal at Market Taverne. Nice to have a local place with a bar.
The Market Tavern is a perfect place to have a good lunch to meet with friends. The lunch menu is quite extensive and where the service is friendly and the food is very satisfactory. All in all a good choice to be made!
I like the place.
Really great space, service was very good. Stew was delicious. We will be back.
Such a lovely spot for lunch. Delicious food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere in the country. Always a favorite for fresh and creative food. Would recommend.
The food was very good- service was less than polished considering menu prices. Much like other reviews I have read it is a bit noisy. We sat in the front room which was a bit quieter. Overall a good dining experience and we will be back.
I had lunch with my daughter-in-law. We each had a couple of questions about the menu which the waiter answered to our satisfaction. The food was tasty and attractive. Service was prompt but we didn't feel rushed. Prices were appropriate.
Perfect place and food, the only comment I have is that we felt a sensation of being hushed to order the food, and finish it....they should allows us to be comfortable enjoying our wine and food w/o hushing us to finish and as for the check....beside that it is a wonderful place for a good dinner!
Great dinner with my new team, and loved the round table so we could all see and hear one another.
Great Brunch! Have also eaten here around the holidays with groups, it's always very nice & the food is good
we frequent the market tavern often. the food is consistently delicious with very creative and trendy choices. the wait staff is one of the main reasons we continue to return.
We have been to the The Market Taverne numerous times and have always been very pleased. We just took my son and his new girlfriend this week and were seated in a quiet area which was a real binus since we were able to talk easily. It is such nice ambiance especially for fall with everything decorated. Loved it!
Went for lunch- the food quality was very good, but they are very overpriced. For example, a main course salad was extremely small with a 3 or 4 oz piece of salmon was around $20. How much does it cost to add some more arugula ? A small bowl of blueberries and strawberries with a dollop of whipped cream $8.00 ... $8.00 ? really? Spent over $30 for lunch, left hungry.
A nice find in Morristown! Great service and very good food. I would recommend this place for everyday dining or a special occasion. Nice ambiance and good outdoor seating on the porch!
Noise level is bad. Need smaller salads. Smaller portions. Otherwise good.
Always a great lunch. Love the porch dining during nice weather. Crab cakes and salads are all great. We will be back.
Great service she anticipated all our needs
Food was good and arrived promptly
A relatively small menu but have always been pleased, and found the specials very good. Reliably high quality food and drink.
The noise level was terrible!! The waiter was terrific. Food was just fair. Tables too close. Want to come more often but have to change noise level. Cannot even talk to one another.
4 of us shared the calamari..small portion and it was so so. We also shared the mussels, excellent.
3 ordered the seafood risotto. I think it had been sitting out before serving. It didn't taste as fresh as usual..chorizo maybe. Not sure. The 4th guest ordered the $38 steak and it came with fries. Really cheap looking presentation. I mean really...a small veggie with it would have been better. Come on $38? He lives in NYC and said it was a restaurant trying to be hip. Starts with the food!!!
Market Tavern is a long-time favorite....great for lunch, lots of good choices, casual in the bar, more quiet in the dining room! I keep going back!
This place is way too loud for us to travel 30 minutes for a meal.
