Market Restaurant offers an elegant yet comfortable dining experience. Located on Main Street in St. Helena, the historical building features exposed stone walls and an antique bar dating back to the turn of the century. The menu features American classics with a fresh seasonal approach and the wine list offers a diverse selection of wines to complement Chef’s creations, with an emphasis on wines from local Napa Valley vintners. In addition to a locally inspired and reasonably priced wine list, Market never charges corkage.

Market Ratings and Reviews
As a new Napa Valley resident from the beloved San Francisco, I'm on a mission to find the best restaurants in the area. Not only does Market have a relaxing low pressure ambiance, the service and menu variety is impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the avocado & tomatillo salsa paired with the calamari to start. For the main meal I went with a half serving of the Chopped Market Salad and a half serving of the Mac and cheese- which was to die for. The thick cut bacon adds great texture and flavor to compliment the sharp cheese. To finish off the meal one cannot leave without a taste of the fabulous butter scotch pudding... Rated #1 in California (no big deal...)! On top of the endless drool-worthy food items- our service was quick and warm. I would return to Market any day and suggest you do so as well.
We were pleasantly surprised by Market...with a superb waiter, good food and wonderful stone walls from local "granite" from the near mountains. The food is very local oriented as well. Prices were good (dinner for two with 2 drinks was $95) and we will definitely go back!
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time a week ago and loved it! Fantastic service, delicious cocktails, amazing food. A great little intimate secret in St. Helena. Perfect for a date night. We ordered the salmon, lobster ravioli, and butterscotch pudding and ate every bite. Great find and we will be returning often.
Seated at a great table immediately even though we were early for our reservation. Shared the crab cake, chopped salad, fish and chips and a cup of adult mac and cheese (definitely try it if you go), butterscotch pudding. All the food was really, really good. Nice, reasonably priced wine list, especially for St Helena. Very good service. We had plenty to eat, even though we shared. Great value.
We enjoyed Market - nice, friendly service and quick too! We appreciated that as we were between tasting appointments. Varied menu and enough tempting options to satisfy many tastes.
We booked with a reservation because so many restaurants are packed these days. It’s the slower season right now in the area so we might have been able to walk in - but on a busy day a reservation would likely be a must.
We enjoyed our lunch and would return.
Interesting menu. Worth leaving home to try someone else’s recipes. cheerful wait staff. Lots of ambience and competitive prices. My Very Adult MAC N Cheese was tasty and too much to finish. The bacon in it is smoked which did not make it better.
Will dine here often.
A most pleasant dining experience, friendly, professional and knowledgeable service from our Server Kate, our dinner selections were perfectly prepared and nicely presented. An overall enjoyable dining experience including an engaging conversation with the owner Roman.
A wonderful day of extraordinarily fine service and incredibly good comfort food. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes were wonderful, as were the burger and fries. Soups were as good as you will have anywhere. Jessie, our server, was personable and professional. A must go!
Went for restaurant week Napa Valley and had their one offering - Fried Chicken, Garlic Spinach, Mashed Potatoes Gravy and Cornbread - Sounds great, right? Except for the fact that the Fried Chicken has clearly been cooked days before, frozen and then reheated - almost inedible..the cornbread was completely dried out (not fresh). They obviously decided to cook all the 'restaurant week' lunches in advance ...terrible. Will not go again. PS I am a local too so this is really dissapointing
We had a get together with one of our friends. I had the crab salad. It was so fresh and delicious. My husband and our friend had the fish and chips which they both enjoyed. We also had the calamari for an appetizer. It was crispy and served with two sauces. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine which we brought to the restaurant and there was no corkage charge. Extra bonus!!! We will be back.
Market never disappoints. The ambience is delightful and creates a warm, welcoming space with a touch of penache. The food is excellent and this time I deviated from my usual Asian salad and had the fish tacos with salmon and freshly made corn tortillas. The service is attentive without being obtrusive. The coffee is also a delicious finish to the meal.
