Not what we expected for Christmas Eve dinner. No decorations. Waiters in jeans. No tablecloths. It was the breakfast room for the guests. No music. Hardly anyone there. The food was quite good however. But this is not for a special occasion . We won't be back.
It was not mentioned in Opentable that the restaurant was in a Hilton or that the only menu they serve on Sunday am is $30 brunch. We got there at 2:00 and evidently brunch is over at 3:00 but they were very nice and did not rush us. The selection was very good.
Sally our server was fabulous!
She kept the Mimosa's flowing.
The hotel seemed very nice and quiet even though it is right off I-75.
We are planning to go back and stay for a weekend. Very impressed.
It is not obvious from reading the overview that this is a hotel restaurant. I only say that because my expectations immediately changed once I realized this. However the service was excellent and the food was good. The price value point was better than expected for a hotel but my husband did say the ribs were average at best. Honestly the food was average not bad not great.
We had a 6:15 reservation and our entrees were served at 7:45! I should also state that we were the only table in the restaurant for the first 30 minutes. Server was polite, but definitely inexperienced in how to manage the situation. I asked to speak to the manager twice. First, I asked the bartender to get the manager, since the server was no where to be found. Then, I asked the server when the food did arrive. Manager never came for another 40 minutes. Finally, after waiting for 10 minutes after asking for the check, I told my husband we were leaving and going to leave on the table what I thought the meal was worth. Manager did finally come at this point with our check. I explained that we were only going to pay for a the check at a considerable discount, which she politely obliged. Server was nice but inexperienced. Food was good except my sons' Med-rare to medium steak was raw! Still doesn't explain the hour and half wait for food.
The staff handled this well. No one could explain the wait, since for a good 30 minutes there was no one else. It was an unfortunate circumstance. I would not go back.
Was there for Valentine's Day. Moved reservation for 8:30 - was there on time.
Restaurant was half-empty; five tables were unbussed - and remained so for about 20 minutes.
After about 10 minutes, I went and asked the hostess if she might find us a server - as four servers had looked at us, walked past us, yet never acknowledged us.
Finally - after another 5 minutes -Cindy approached us and took drink orders.
That took another nearly 10 minutes...beer arrived immediately, but the scotch took a while (?).
When she went to take dinner order, we ordered surf and turf ("Out of Surf and Turf") - had to beg for my date to only have a steak (w/out the lobster; seemed like that was a terrible request).
I might note that the prix fixe meal offered that evening was not what was on the website, nor was there any indication until we asked that we could not order off of the regular menu that eve. Also, Cindy seem ruffled by us not wanting to place the dessert order right away.
The lobster bisque was terrific; the french onion soup was very heavy on the salt (too much beef base). Salads and meals were good. We ordered a red velvet Cheesecake to split (that, too seemed like an usual request?); it was frozen.
Asked for coffee; never received.
All in all, it was a terrible disappointment - especially at $60 per head.
We had a reservation at 7:45 but they were over booked. After sitting in the bar area for 20 minutes, the hostess walked over and asked if we were waiting on them to seat is. We ended up having to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The server was nice and he was the only reason why we stayed. The food was disgusting, meaning the lobster was over cooked and tasted terrible, and the steak and potatoes tasted freezer burnt. It took over 2 hours for us to be served a pre-picked valentine's menu. Unfortunately we weren't the only people who had this experience. The table next to us were completely neglected and the staff had no clue who ordered what, not to mention they were waiting longer than us to be seated. I believe they finally got their salads after we had paid. Did I mention they charged us $170 for 3 people? Ridiculous.
Went here for brunch on my birthday. We had a 1:30 reservation and were immediately seated. Our waitress took our beverage order and directed us to the buffet. There were several stations:salads, shrimp and salmon , carving, hot food, waffle and dessert. The salads were fresh and enjoyable. The shrimp were large and tasty as was the smoked salmon. Overall the hot foods were just ok. Most were barely warm and the rice was hard; however, the jambalaya was very good. Waffles were make your own. The carving station had a cook making omletts but there was NO MEAT TO CARVE! We were told they ran out. How do you run out of meat with at least 1 1/2 hours before the close of the brunch. This was not a good thing. There was over cooked bacon and sausage that was not eatable. The desserts were good . The triple chocolate mousse cake (birthday gift from the restaurant) was excellent. Mimosas were free flowing. We were given a discount after complaining about the lack of meat. I would not go here again. There were too many things that were not right.
Having enjoyed their Sunday Champagne Brunch for many years, we found that the changes that have been made to the brunch have brought it up to another level. What was a good brunch has morphed to become an excellent brunch. Previously, the service (and champagne) were the brunch's strength and now the food has joined them as an equal strength.
From the pealed shrimp to the salad bar to the hot line entrees and sides, we did not encounter a substandard bite on our last trip. They have also upgraded their attention to restocking the line, especially for the incredible dessert station.
After this last visit, I have a feeling that we'll be going to Arthur's Bistro for Sunday brunch more often than the previous every other month or so. (Hey, cut us some slack - we don't live in that county and it's an hour's drive each way!)
This meal was quite disappointing. The calamari were like warm and soggy; the crab dip was crab less; the crab cakes were huge and filled with everything that didn't taste like crab; the grouper was dry and overdone; I guess the salmon was ok-- didn't hear complaints; the star of the evening was the Fish&Chips. Got rave revues. Expected a little more from the man dining room at a Hilton.
We were there early - 4:30 p.m. for dinner. Surprised to see how close the "restaurant" is to the bar area. Moderate activity as there was a "boxing event" to be held later that night. Only one other table being served and the waitress didn't know what to do with herself so she chatted endlessly each time she came to the table.. which was too often. As for the food, the Calamari Appetizer was some of the best we've ever had. Cooked perfectly and the sauce was heavenly. Sadly, everything went downhill from there. I ordered the Spinach salad. The dressing was bitter, some of the fruit in the salad was unripe and bitter and in the end I left a big pile of just spinach. My date got the Grouper. A small piece of fish arrived on a huge mound of garlic mashed potatoes. The fish was cooked okay, had a nice sauce but the proportion of fish to potatoes was silly. We did not order dessert and have no plans to go back.
We have attended the Sunday Champagne Brunch many times since finding it several years ago. At the beginning we considered it a nice little brunch with its hits and misses. The service has always been fantastic but the food wasn't always 'up to snuff.' However, lately the the menu and execution have excelled and our latest visit was the best ever with all dishes we ate both tasty and at the appropriate temperature from the serving line. This buffet shows the positive efforts of the staff and management to make this a Class A Champagne Brunch.
We had a work meeting at Arthur's during the week. All of our food was delicious , timely and prepared well with a nice presentation. Our waitress was friendly but overall not very attentive and the restaurant did not appear to be busy that evening. We got up to leave
And realized she hadn't given us the check. (I think we could have walked out without anyone noticing). We looked around to get any employee's attention, finally did , and got our check! I think you know what I could say next, but honesty is the best policy.
I read the other reviews and this sounded pretty special but the food and ambiance seemed similar to most hotel restaurants. We went for the Sunday brunch which had the typical selections. I was disappointed in the "make your own breakfast included" waffles but my favorite the salmon, was plentiful. If you are a senior, there is a $2.00 discount from the regular price.
Made reservations on open table as we were in town on business and we're not familiar with the area. Hard time finding restaurant as there are no signs on the street or signs on the front of the hotel. This is located in hilton hotel No sign on the hotel either saying this is located inside
Hostess and server seemed nice enough but not really into it We seemed to be a distraction to them Food quality was ok but a little overpriced for what it was. This quality food should have been about 20 percent less. But I guess that goes along with this being in a hotel Will not return Not bad over all. But better deals can be had elsewhere I'm sure
Our party of 4 was looking forward to a very nice upscale dinner. Instead our dinner in an empty dining room, was incredibly blah. We all had fish that was flavorless even though they were accompanied with sauces. Garlic mashed potatoes in a giant Luke warm, also flavorless glob. The highlight was the very delicious soup. We plan to try the Sun. Brunch but will not return for dinner.
We made 7pm reservations, because I worked until 6pm. I assumed this dinner was the buffet like last year. Apparently it was dinner seating from menus. Disappointed, we ordered. Took forever for the food. I wanted to switch the mashed potatoes for sweet potatoes, the waitress said ok. We ordered, and My food came on one plate. It looked like leftover slop. All slopped on one plate. The sausage in the stuffing, eww! Instead of sweet potatoes, they brought me sweet potato fries! Who is eating fries with turkey and stuffing? The turkey looked like pieces leftover from the buffet, they just threw yuck pieces on my plate, and heated up in the microwave. To charge me $30 bucks a plate for this garbage. Never again! It was the worst food I ever had. Wont be coming back. The waitress seemed overwhelmed, like they were in a rush to serve us so they could go home. Didn't know the 7pm was the last seating. If i knew I would have went elsewhere.
Opted for Arthur's due to late availability of our guests and our other choice closed at 2:00 pm. This was one of my finest moments in choosing a nice restaurant in Ocala, Florida that would fill the needs of our visitors, and yet be a place to truly remember. Pure delight and would definitely recommend to my friends and family.
Who would've thought that this "open air" restaurant/bistro would have the perfect combination of steaks, seafood, pasta, apps, soups, salads, desserts, etc., on a single page - easy to navigate - menu. The wine list, although by no means expansive, is adequate for pairings throughout the menu. I found the noise level to not be problematic as others have stated. I can't wait for Florida's cooler months. This will be a great place for outdoor dining as the area is heated by two giant enclosed fire pits. This "porch" will be great for everything from cocktails to dinner and/or an after dinner VSOP. As for the heat of summer, wonder if they serve to the nearby pool? Food for thought, as is their Sunday Brunch with the typical fair from never ending shrimp to prime rib and everything in between! With the food quality emanating from the chef(s) and kitchen staff, this should be outstanding. All in all, I was not only impressed, I returned home with a wonderful taste in my mouth and memories in my mind.
We were quite impressed by the service of Sally, our server, and the sweet, fun loving lady at the reservations desk.
The food was outstanding and plentiful, even though we did not sit down to eat until 1:40 PM for our 1 PM reservation. A fact which was due to mis-communication on our part.
This was the second time I took my mother and aunt to Arthur's for Mother's Day brunch. While the selection and quality of the food was good, they had a serious issue with organization and staffing. They were unable to keep up with busing and turning tables over for large groups, forcing guests to wait well past their reservation time while they scrambled to find staff to clear tables.
