About Market Garden Brewery
Market Garden Brewery features a 3,000 square foot "American beer garden", three fireplaces, two indoor bars, and private dining space for up to 400. The brewpub features a modern American pub menu featuring local and organic ingredients sourced primarily from our historic neighbor, the West Side Market, and the wonderful farms that dot our community. This dynamic menu is brought to you by our talented chef team. Market Garden is home to a 10 barrel brew house that has brewed up a menu of a dozen beers that span the flavor spectrum from easy drinking session lagers to big beasty ipas and porters. Noted brew master Andy Tveekrem, formerly head brewer at Dogfish Head, is at the helm. We also carry an exciting guest beer list highlighting the ever-changing American craft beer scene along with an extensive liquor & cocktail program focused primarily on American whiskies and spirits from the nation's top Micro-distilleries.

Market Garden Brewery Ratings and Reviews
In from Detroit for a visit to the Rock & Roll HOF and the A Christmas Story house. Third or fourth time dining at Market Garden for a reason. We just love it! My son is autistic and we had been promising him pizza all day to keep him calm. It wasn't on the menu. The waiter ordered pizza from across the street and had it delivered just for my son. Then Market Garden picked up the tab for the pizza. Unbelievable!!! Very touching moment for my wife and I. THANKS TO EVERYONE AT MARKET GARDEN! See you next year! Happy Holidays as well!
Good food, great service. Sat immediately thanks to our Opentable reservation. Friends ordered burgers, which were huge and delicious. We split pretzel and mushroom flatbread. Also very good. Beer selection was very diverse. Good experience. Will come back.
I made reservations for 7:15 for a group of 4 people to celebrate a 50th birthday and a 24th wedding anniversary. We have been to Market Garden many times and I know it can get crowded, especially on weekends, hence the reservation. The hostess that greeted us led us to the table and abruptly informed us that there was another party scheduled for our table at 9pm. Basically, she let us know that we needed to eat and get out. This was the first time I have experienced this, and I found it to be extremely off-putting and offensive. My group was really just planning to have a couple of drinks and dinner before heading to the casino, but it was annoying to be informed up front that we couldn't stay past 9 if we wanted to. Market Garden should offer training for their hostess on basic skills of hospitality. The beer and food were good (as usual), and our server was really nice and helpful.
I love Market Garden's Prosperity beer so I decided to go here to sample some of the other beers they only offer on tap. The beer is fantastic. Definitely not a place to go for wine or cocktails as they're not worth the price. My sandwich was also great (the cubano) but others in my group had mixed feelings about the menu. Its probably best to stick with the comfort foods on the menu, especially if you're not into some of the fancier ingredients the chefs use such as smoked blueberries and chard.
The back patio is really cute and it's a great value ($7 for an omelette that left me very full) but unfortunately the food isn't that great. Omelette, while filling, wasn't very interesting or original and the mimosa flight was underwhelming. The food and drinks are good enough that when paired with the ambiance, I'd still recommend it. Just don't expect food to blow your mind.
Service was slow. Beer was great. Menu featured typical bar food, but we opted for high-end items - osso buco and salmon. Osso buco was so-so and salmon was raw on top. The grains served with each entree were not cooked through and it was very disappointing to have to eat the salmon alone and wait for the rest of the meal to be cooked properly. My salmon/crunchy farro was comped (Yay) and we learned that when in a bar, order bar food.
The table was ready at promised time with very fast service. We were on a tight schedule due to the abrupt need to be at airport. We were called in for a Patriot Guard detail of an escort if a fallen US Navyman. The food was fantastic and service was wonderful.
When I first arrived the hosts were very rude and ignored us for about 2-4 minutes. This is relevant becasue when I gave them the time of my reservation they mentioned that it was already 4 minutes past my reserved time. The service was fantastic from our server, but, the food was meh, they were out of multiple items that my party ordered and we were mostly dissapointed. Their Peach Margherita Flatbread tastes exactly like a Citronella candle smells, and when they say, Fresh Baked Salted Pretzel, they mean one pretzel stick.
I don't plan on returning.
I met a friend here recently for a meal before a show at Playhouse Square starting at 8. Our reservation was for 6 and we were seated promptly. Short story, the service after that point was not good. Everything took a long time mostly because the server was mostly MIA - Disappeared for long periods of time, didn't check in to ask how the beer or food was. I asked a little bit about the beers and received a description that compared this year to last year. Since I had not had the beers last year, the info wasn't very useful. I wish he would have suggested the beer sampler. Didn't see it until after I got a beer I didn't like. We had to asked for water refills several times.
The food was pretty good, though not enough for me to return by choice. Will pick somewhere else next time.
We made it to the show barely but to do it, had boxed half the meal.
Went there before the U2 concert on July 4th weekend. Very crowed but the open table app got us seated right away. Service was slow, seemed to be a little short staffed. At 5:30 had run out of about 30-40% of menu items. Just a little disappointing
that there wasn't better planning.
I'm not a chicken wing connoisseur by any stretch, but the wings here are the best that I've ever had in my life! Very meaty and unbelievably tasty ... even with just the dry rub and no sauce on them. The BBQ wings were my favorite, followed by the Cajun wings. The Garlic Parmesan wings were not in the same league as these other two flavors, in my opinion. The pierogis and the grilled chicken sandwich was also very good. Great casual and lively atmosphere too. Will definitely be back when we are in town.
My vegetarian burger was great, homemade and nice and substantial. My husband enjoyed his brisket burger and we both thought the fries were good. In fact, my husband raved about them throughout the meal and said he'd come back, which says something because he's kind of a tough crowd. There weren't a ton of vegetarian options and the prices were a little high -- $13 for the veggie burger -- but overall it was a fun place with good food and service. I'd go back. Maybe next time it won't be raining and we can sit on their gorgeous patio.
