The food was alright, nothing special and very overpriced.
It was all delicious. I would describe our dining experience as classic American with local and seasonal twists. Gracious service and comfortable ambiance. There likely was a bit of a mix up about how well done my husband wanted his order and instead both were cooked to my taste.
As usual, Marjorie never disappoints! Halibut and Duck were the selections that evening and the quality and presentations were awesome. Plantains (of course) and cheese plate for appetizers really started the meal off right. We come to Seattle about 4 times a year and never miss the opportunity to dine here.
Food wasn’t impressive - Wasn’t bad by any means but for lacked simple seasoning like salt and pepper. Friends of mine ordered the gnocchi and were surprised that the portion was so small. We also got the pork chop which case with beans. They were very undercooked. Service was slow, but everyone was nice. Not the worst experience but I was not impressed with my experience here and will likely not recommend to friends.
Great meal for restaurant week and ambiance is friendly and inviting.
I am a vegetarian and was able to find food to fit my diet. We had the plantain appetizer with bean dip. I am not as excited by the plantains as some people are but the black bean dip was very tasty. My entree was nettle risotto which was fantastic. It came with tempura maitake mushrooms on top. My dessert was to die for...chocolate pot de creme with garam masala spices and broken up gingerbread. Her food is nicely flavored.
Great food and presentation from appetizers to dessert. Wonderful Panna Cotta.
We went for Restaurant Week. The food was superb. Waitstaff was excellent. We loved the decor as well. We will be back!
Dinner was delicious, but we waited 45 min to get our drink ~!!!!!!
"I love the vibe of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The plantains, hanger steak, and suck breast were amazing.
The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the Service was well-timed and friendly without making us feel rushed. The wines were pricey, but worth it.
Such a charming place with truly wonderful food. Can’t wait to come back here again when the patio is open.
The food was amazing. My friend is vegetarian and had plenty of options to choose from. We did our meal with the cocktail tasting menu as well and the cocktails did not disappoint. Very small restaurant but one you will definitely not forget!
My favorite restaurant in Seattle. Great food. Wonderful service. And love the music on the turntable.
Once again with the (relatively) new chef, Marjorie is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.
Great! Always wonderful food service and ambiance
We had not been to Marjorie Restaurant in a long time but now I remember why we had not returned. The food tasted good but the portions were small and the items were very overpriced and the service was very slow so our dinner was over 3 hours from the time we arrived at our table.
Also, the noise level made it impossible for us to talk to our guests who were sitting across the table as they could not hear anything being said.
I don't think we will return to Marjorie and for sure our guests who were there for the first time
have already stated they would not return. I hope that they can correct these deficiencies soon as we heard similar comments from the guests seated at other tables
Marjorie is consistently providing great food and a wonderful dining experience. Crudos to owner Donna and her team.
This place is always wonderful, great food, a little pricey but well worth it. The only issue I have is that every time I’ve gone, they’ve asked me in the middle of the meal to either move tables or break up my table.
Absolutely wonderful. Came here for my anniversary looking for something not like all the other local returants. Definitely found that here
Mikey is the best!
The food was amazing, a little pricey but worth it!
Great food and excellent service. Will absolutely be back!! I was here while in from out of town and popped in by chance, and this spot was a very pleasant surprise!
I adore Marjorie. Plantains. A diverse but not overwhelming menu. My favorite bathroom. It was a little cold by the window this time and our server Mikey brought us blankets. 💜
Great food, lovely atmosphere, fantastic cocktails. The only issue was our table was by a door and it was VERY cold that night and drafty inside, and we asked to move and they were unable to move us due to another party coming to the table across the way. While we understood, I would have had blankets on hand, the seats were a cold metal, the door behind me was metal, etc. They did turn up the heat, and, if they had come over to me and given me a blanket for my chair and shoulders if they couldn't move my table it would have gone a long way. And everything else was fantastic.
We were seated in the backroom, which was very loud and not very appealing overall.
Per our request, the hostess who was very pleasant re-seated us in the front room. That was much better although the tables are spaced very close together.
The food and service was excellent.
The food was very tasty. My only complaint is that the portion sizes are much smaller than other restaurants at the same price point in the area.
Fantastic price-fixe menu for Valentine’s Day. Marjorie is great for special dates and for most any day of the week.
Our dinner at Marjorie's was treat. Donna, the owner, was open and told us about the restaurant's name. We told her we were attending a play and she was very attentive to our time. The food was outstanding. Both entrees, chicken tika masala and gnocci were delicious and the carrots with za'atar amazing. I highly recommend Marjorie's.
Service was very slow.
Wonderful food, warm and charming ambience —we'll be back soon!
I love Marjorie for the unique flavors and menu items as well as a great selection of craft cocktails.
Worth it! Our party of 6 had a great time, great food and wine and we could hear each other!
Fabulous food!! Comfort meals without being too heavy. The staff is warm and gracious. Love love love.
Food was really good but the service was lacking. We had a reservation but stood and waited for a solid 15 minutes while our table sat empty. The two waitresses were also seating people and didn't think it was a priority to let us sit down. After we got seated we were rushed to order our meals at the same time as our drinks. We never received our wine until after out food was brought out. Not the way it should be. We did love our food and dessert (homemade ice cream and sorbet) was out of this world!
love marjorie! local favorite. TOP food--local, fresh, deliciously spiced. excellent vibe and decor; windows and natural light. great staff and long manager. have gone multiple times over 20 years for dates, hangouts, and special occasions. in January 2018 I had mussels and chorizo with grilled bread and shared some creamy grits and jerk chicken. everyone raved about their dishes. great value. go and eat well!
Amazing food, do not recommended for large parties especially on a holiday like New year's. Seated an hour late, but the staff was friendly and food was amazing!
NYE. Overbooked, understaffed, and some mediocre courses.
I appreciated the care and preparation of each dish. The chocolate tiramisu is unforgettable.
I love this place! Good food, and always such a personal dining experience!
The food is creative and well worth a visit, the black cod dish was exceptioanl, and the plantain chips a must have. The dissapointment is service, which was very slow with some requests ignored altogether. I ordered a glass of wine from the owner, after a 15 minute wait I asked the server to please bring it, I was assured it would be brought immediately, it never came. The menu items were priced fairly, however the cocktails were very overpriced, a single shot beverage was 14.00, while a Nonalcoholic beverage was 10.00, very steep for a casual restaurant.
