Marisol at the MCA
Delicious food. Outstanding service. Amazing wine. Loved everything about it!!
Wonderful food, server and experience.
The food was innovative and excellent. The service was great. One of my favorite restaurants.
The ambiance is nice, but that's about it. I was at Marisol with a friend. It seems the staff was confused on who was serving us as we had 3-4 different people showing up at our table. The pasta with mushrooms I ordered was a tiny portion and tasted sour; no bread or spreads were offered with it. My friend got a salad but was told getting some protein like chicken wasn't an option. It took 15 minutes for us to be served the decaf coffee we had ordered with three different waiters showing up confirming the order or telling us it would take some time. It was bizarre and pricey, not worth it!
We started at the bar with Happy Hour. Really nice deal on drinks small plates. We shared the hummus. Service and flavors were great once we sat in the dining room as well. Very nice experience.
Luscious food, inventive. Elegant environment. Classy wait staff.
What a treat!
A corner table where we could catch up and talk for hours over a light lunch.
A fantastic and beautiful sunflower seed hummus with the best sunflower seed crackers, more like a brittle. Loved them so much our server gave us a few extra to bring home. (Thank you for the treat.)
Shared a grain and lentil bowl with salmon. The best flavor and textures.
A wonderful chocolate walnut cookie and we were in heaven the whole meal. Aided by a warm and excellent server.
My dinner guest and I are creatives and our experience aligned with who we are and was memorable and very nice.
Marisol is my new go-to before shows at Lookingglass. This trip I deviated from the things I know I love and it was only half-successful. The Burrata: great, delicious. Celery root: it was very good. Salmon poached in broth with asparagus and lentils ... a miss. Strange flavors marred my enjoyment. Oh well ... you never know if you never try.
The salmon was all I could hope for. Very tasty and moist. It came with Chinese broccoli which was not the best. It was very tough. But the dish itself was excellent. The ambiance was good and the service was just right, not intrusive but very attentive.
This is the second time we have eaten there within the last six months. The restaurant continues to maintain high standards for creativity, taste, and service, and there is no doubt we will eat there again for at least a third time.
If perfection was a restaurant, Marisol would be it. Stunning room (naturally, you're at an art museum) and ridiculously gorgeous furniture. Excellent, attentive service that really goes with the flow of your party. And the food? I'm still craving the sunflower hummus and house made cracker! We had a party of six and spilt all the chilled staters. Fresh, vibrant salads. Excellent burrata and steak tartare. The steak entree was terrific. But the trout and the quail were life -changing. Nicely curated beverage list.
Exceptional food, artistically plated. Great service and excellent list of wines by the glass
This restaurant is in the Museum of Contemporary Art and is very nice. It is nicely decorated, quiet enough to have a conversation even though it was almost full, and the food is very good. The only small problem (and it did not really impact us since we were having a nice conversation) is the meal took a little longer than usual - I would not have even noticed except the manager came to our table twice to apologize for how long the food was taking to be prepared. But we were not in a hurry, the meal did arrive, and it was well-prepared. All-in-all, a good place to have a meal if you are visiting the museum or are nearby as there is an entrance to the outside without having to go to the museum.
We had a wonderful dining experience at the Marisol. The Burrata was exceptional, the service and the ambience was special, as it is in the Museum of Contemporary Art.
I’m a member of the MCA and I’ve been waiting a long time to eat here. They are almost never open when I want to go while visiting the museum. I finally made reservations to meet a friend for brunch. I had a pistachio tahini doughnut, that was fantastic. But my sun choke hash
was terrible. It was dry and salty. Our waitress was nice.
Such a wonderful experience at Marisol. The staff was great and the food was beyond terrific. Can’t wait to return!
Tucked into the ground floor of the MCA this feels like a secret gem of a place and it is! The food is fantastic and the service is knowledgable, consistent and friendly.
We’ve been to Marisol many times and it does not disappoint. The food was delicious and our server, Emma, was knowledgeable and very sweet. We love it for lunch too. The flavors may seem unusual but are amazing together.
Food is good. Waiters need to wait until all done eating.
I actually really loved this restaurant. I went into it, not knowing what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was so knowledgeable and kind, the food was fantastic, and the ambience was so pleasant. I am very glad that I went and will definitely recommend this to friends.
This is our 2nd and last try.
First time, every time we ordered a dish, we were told they were out of it.
This time, the food was just no more than ok.
We will not be back
We were attracted by their Chefs tasting menus on Valentine's day. To their credit, they offered a vegetarian option. It turned out to be mostly hits with some misses. You could hardly taste the prawns in the prawn raviolis and the ham broth would not have been my choice. And the poached celery root entre was very bland. On the other hand the lamp loin was excellent so were the 2 desserts. The service was attentive and discreet. The decor is contemporary and the ambiance is perfect for a Valentine's day dinner. A restaurant that's worth considering.
Amazing food and excellent winen pairings. The service was friendly and down to earth but also very attentive and professional.
Great evening. We were able to do the Restaurant Week Menu and it was superlative. The wine pairings enhanced all of the flavors of the well prepared offerings. Nice choices.
Our waiter was extremely warm, attentive and informative. We will absolutely return to this wonderful ‘neighborhood ‘ restaurant.
Food is not good
This restaurant offers delicious creative menu, incredibly knowledgeable waiters about every aspect of the menu and wine list, they are so well trained. this was my second dinner there and both were culinary delights. the room is so clean and open. I will be back with more friends.
We enjoyed the recommendations made by the server. With a food sensitivity in our group it was stated that frazzled the kitchen so they forgot an appetizer. Then brought it out when we were done with our meals. We also had a birthday in our party which was stated at reservation but nothing was done to make the person feel special. I would not recommend this place for a special occasion.
Visiting during restaurant week was worth the visit. Everything was artfully presented!
Food was delicious! We had the ham and Comte sandwich which was served with greens. The salad had their chefs own salad dressing creation which people raves about. Also had the burrata starter which we recommend although the portion size is small relative to the cost. Everything was served with or on sourdough toast.
I took a colleague for lunch. Marisol is a lovely setting. Excellent selection of tea and coffee options. I also appreciate fresh juice--a nice plus.
Our food was very tasty and inventive. However, the sandwich I had was difficult to eat--it would have been better either open-faced or some other serving method so that large chunks did not fall out when it was lifted. My colleague had trout--and enjoyed it very much, though the fish was a bit overcooked.
I enjoy the fresh and seasonal ingredients--just some details could be better.
Overall, it's a nice spot for lunch.
Good menu. Creative. Ambience ok, a bit noisy. Attentive waitress. A tad expensive.
What a great place to meet for good food in a jumping environment. The food is outstanding & the serving size reasonable. The wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful and prompt. The people watching was crazy. This was the second time we have tried it and it exceeded our expectations again. The octopus was very good as a starter, as was the beet salad. Sirloin medallions were great as an entre.
The food and the experience, was outstanding, as it usually is. Excellent choice for lunch with a friend. And then the added bonus of spending some time enjoying art in the museum.
My wife and I went in for brunch and were thoroughly impressed. Creative food and a diverse brunch menu, very good!
This is a great place for brunch followed by a visit to the MCA -bloody Mary's hit the sp ot
The food was delicious and the chef was able to prepare it without gluten, however, the server did not seem to have been trained as to what can be prepared gluten free or how. After checking with the chef we were able to come up with a great brunch.
Marisol salad was a beautiful work of art and extremely delicious
Service was pretty slow. We got the Marisol salad and hummus to start and both were delicious. I could have eaten the hummus plain. We all ordered the skatewing and it was just ok. It needed salt or some seasoning to give it more flavor. The rye cake dessert and pear tart were also very well done. It was only the entree that disappointed so would go back and try something else.
Timing for food coming out
