Good, but we were sitting near a noisy group.
Very pleased with the service. Everyone of the staff were very friendly and kind and accommodating. The food was decent; I am not a big eater. I would have liked to see more choices of appetizers that are smaller in size. I also would have appreciated some warm bread and butter with my wine. Overall though it was a pleasant experience.
Overall everything was fine but we found a hair in our food which they quietly replaced but we expected them to compensate with Atleast something with the inconvenience being caused. It was our anniversary usually we have seen other restaurants do something special but just didn’t get any good vibes here and felt like a very normal dinner
Food was okay, enjoyed the brussel sprouts appetizer, drinks and service were pretty good, entree was average. View/scenery was nice but somewhat blocked by overgrown plants. My husband and I visit the area reasonably often and like to checkout different places..so overall it was nice, not great.
Staff is second to none at the Marisol Restaurant and also throughout the entire Cliffs Hotel and Spa team. Food was also very good and timely. Ambiance was amazing and the staff truly wanted to make sure we had a great experience.
Not easy times due to Covid and regulations. The fish did not taste fresh. It was over cooked and dry.
Incredible ambiance and service, the menu choices were great and the food was delicious..
Menu changes but never disappoints. Best service I had at a restaurant, and strong drinks.
Great sunset dinner on the patio Heaters everywhere if needed. Great service from Jessica our server.
Drinks were terrible. Food was mediocre. View was great!
Filet mignon was excellent. Tasty and very tender. Potatoes and sauce w asparagus was very good. The garden salad could have had a little more tomatoes etc. and less greens.
I did not appreciate that an 18% “service fee” was already added into the bill and I was not told beforehand. I almost over-tipped. The Customer should decide the level of the tip, not the restaurant.
Fish tacos were really good, but my daughter’s pasta was absolutely dreadful.
The food and service was excellent. We watched the sunset on the patio during dinner. The ribeye was the best I have ever eaten.
Need to add more vegan option to their menu. Also trim some outdoor plants leaves for better sunset view from the lower patio.
Visiting for a romantic weekend and decided to make a reservation at Marisol (out of convenience). I was amazed by the "coziness," the outside temperature was controlled by heat lamps (by staff). The food was amazing. Halibut cooked to perfection. Dessert was decadent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back
No flavor on steaks or hamburgers. Steak was too rough.
The sun set beautifully and it got cool outside. They placed us right by the fireplace.
We will be back.
Oh yes Thanks for the free desert (it was our anniversary)
Went for a sunset dinner outdoor dining and cocktails. Views did not disappoint and the food was excellent!
Compared to our meal on the night before, the Avocado Chop Salad and Shrimp Risotto was much closer to the standards Marisol has shown on our previous stays.
The salmon overcooked, fish tacos - fish was crispy. So used to having great food from Marisol this meal was like being served from a cafeteria line. Blame it on the COVID-19 curse? Service was very good.
Given the COVID 19 concerns, we were please to find that Marisol had outside dining with nearby heatlamps. The service staff was attentive but not intrusive and met our needs. The venue was wonderful for us hoping to enjoy an early sunset due to daylight savings time change.
This was without a doubt the worst meal I have ever experienced. My wife and I barely took two bites each from our meals. The salmon was extremely dry and was served with some sort of puree that was awful. The filet had no flavor and it was served with cold potatoes. I was extremely disappointed especially since the meal was over $100. We left and ended up eating elsewhere. The view and the wait staff were nice which was unfortunately the only good part of our experience. I would strongly recommend eating elsewhere.
Phenomenal food with great people. Nachos appetizers were amazing.
We had a lovely breakfast on the front patio overlooking the ocean. The food portions are gigantic; easily shareable. Maria took excellent care of us. A wonderful way to start the day and enjoy Pismo Beach.
The food was not delicious/good at all. It took an hour to serve us food, all 7 of us didn’t like our dishes
Good overall experience...enjoyed the filet omelet and huevos ranchero.
Food was great. The deserts were presented well, but the taste was not good. Service was very poor in the morning and at lunch. We did find Ashley the waitress was very good and got a better tip because she had a great attitude. Morning time couldn't get a second cup of coffee and was never asked if I wanted more. I think the 18% was the big problem.
If there was a way to put negative stars I would! Simply the worst food I have had in my life- hands down. I’m 46 and this includes hospital and airplane food. Adding in the price, just beyond comprehension. This photo was a cheesecake? Inedible.
Trying to find parking was a nightmare, as there was none. When finally seated, we had no service for 30 minutes as we just sat there. It was like they totally forgot, we were even there. I had to go into the restaurant to get their attention and ask for service. Our table was extremely wobbly/unbalanced. Food was excellent, however initial service was horrible. Was our first time there.
We were thrilled that the Marisol had such lovely food.
Outstanding service and food. salmon was in top 5 I have ever had. “Bunt-pan” nachos not bad ether!
Good wine list, signature burger was delicious. Matt, my server, did an awesome job despite being super busy.
I celebrated my 61st birthday. The service was wonderful. Reese was our server. He's a very pleasant young man. The food was wonderful. We will definitely come back.
Excellent meal on the coast. We celebrated my birthday. Nachos appetizer is definitely more than your average nacho Rib eye and Halibut ordered were our favorite entree.
Perfect for our family and friends
Menu seemed limited - food very average. Halibut was overcooked and flavorless. Lobster mac & cheese tasted like boxed mac & cheese. Such a disappointment for the cost. On a positive note, waitress was awesome and entire staff was friendly and welcoming. We felt very comfortable with the distanced tables and cleanliness.
Unfortunately a bad way to celebrate our Anniversary. My wife’s warm, toasted, sandwich was cold and bread was tough. My “medium” steak was well done (the waiter was kind and brought us a dessert for the inconvenience but at $90, no thanks.
Wonderful food, great views. The staff was very kind and attentive.
Service was very good. Food was delicious. Everything we ordered (brussel sprouts, Chicken salad & burger) was amazing. We had a view overlooking the ocean. Great spot!
This was our second time dining at Marisol...the first time being the 4th of July 2019 had we had a wonderful experience! This time however was a major disappointment. We arrived early for our reservation but the hostess said that wasn’t a problem and brought us out to the patio to a table which we didn’t care for and noticing that there were SEVERAL tables close by we asked for a different one....she said no that wasn’t possible because people had reservations...exactly, like we didn’t? And just for a FYI, when you make reservations at Marisol on OpenTable, table choice is not an option. Anyway even though my husband wanted to leave, we did sit down to a unstable table with no view (the view is what makes Marisol in our opinion). Anyway, when our server came over he said “sure you can move, no problem”! That really made my husband angry. Why the hostess felt she couldn’t accommodate us is beyond us! But that left a bad taste in our mouths and is the reason we will not return. Service however was great, from our server to the busboy. Food? We were not blown away but it could just be what we ordered because our first visit the food was excellent. A restaurant needs to staff friendly and accommodating hostesses since they are the ones first greeting clients. P.S. Diners were sat at the empty tables with no advance preference...we noticed!
