Very good food including white gazpacho. Service also great.
Great food. Their brunch menu is delicious.
Nice place, quaint setting, high-quality food. Definitely an occasion destination.
A true change of pace; the food seems authentic and was tasty. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food came out fairly quickly. Definitely a good idea to have a reservation. Would go back.
Had a great time. The food was yummy, with a good mix of land and sea options along with some great charcuterie. We enjoyed the food, which was delivered as it became ready, the service was friendly, knowledgeable, and there when you needed.
Good food. Super service. Loud place. Hard to talk across the table.
Very nice restaurant! The food was excellent and the drinks were delicious!
Outstanding service!! Food was great, drinks were even better! Quaint little place to enjoy a cocktail and some tapas. Will be back!
Had a great time! Loved the ambience and the food was fantastic!
This was our second time at Mariposa within the past month. Still a very enjoyable experience. Sat inside where it was very comfortable given the heat outside but it can be a bit noisy depending on how many tables are occupied as they are quite close. Food and drinks were outstanding. Had a Spanish gin & tonic that featured a purple gin and pickling spices very different. As always, food is tapas style meant to share. We had the octopus, pork cheeks, spanish omelet and asparagus. All unique and excellent.
Single orders can be split for four and will need to order about 5 dishes or so. Suggestion is not to order everything at once as that is the way they come out making it a rushed dinner. Order drinks and one, then maybe order 2 at a time. The wait staff is very helpful and don't mind that approach.
Hello! Thank you for your honest and thorough review. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with others. We are overjoyed you liked your tapas and drinks. You seem to have a great approach to dining with us, and we are happy to accommodate to ensure you have a great experience with us! We hope to see you again soon.
Amazing food and great service. We will definitely be back.
Hello! We are so happy that you had a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for choosing to dine with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
So bummed! It was way too loud and the food was disappointing. I wanted to love it because our server was fantastic and it’s a cute space, but I won’t go back. Every dish was dripping in excessive oil and heavy sauces.
Excellent food! Was great to be able to have a reservation ahead of time. There were 4 people so I would highly suggest requesting a larger table as tables are small and when sharing tapas the table was very cramped.
Waitress was knowledgeable regarding the menu but we asked for a wine list to order a bottle for dinner we were more then halfway through our meal before our wine came
Waited 20 minutes before we had to ask, again, if someone would serve us.
The food was delicious and well presented. The portions were perfect and we never had to wait for our food. Everything was a taste experience and we will definitely be back to taste more
Food and service are great. It was very loud the night we were there.
Our first visit and it will not be our last. Only thing better than the food and drinks was the service. Put on your list of restaurants to visit and visit again.
Sangria is the best around (IMO). Try the Octopus too! Everything so delicious and you can’t go wrong! A true tapas
Father’s Day meal with my daughter. We sat outside under the fan and it was quite comfortable despite the humidity. She had the cheese platter that she loves. I tried the shrimp and grits. They were so good I ordered it again! Great helpful staff, clean restaurant and really tasty food.
Food was delicious! Need to work on getting food to both guests at same time.
What a great addition to an emerging culinary neighborhood in Wilmington. We tried several of the tapas, including the charred octopus, the shrimp, and the pork cheeks which were all outstanding. The beef tenderloin was cooked to temp but lacked flavor.
The atmosphere was energetic and fun, and the service was excellent. Walking distance to other fun spots in this section of town.
Food and service was excellent; a bit tight inside and noisy.
Food was good, restaurant is super cute. I’d definitely go back.
Small place, a converted house on 3rd street, very near Bennie’s Goodtime Pizza. The portions are in-line with Spanish tapas, the cost a bit high. Their shrimp dish was under cooked, the gazpacho was a weird almond thing. . We know now the value is in their mixed boards of foods. Service was good.
Great spot for a nice night out. Will be going back for sure. Great food, environment and amazing cocktails. We love True Blue so we had to try this place out!
Wonderful dining experience! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Menu options are unique and great for a shareable situation.
Food was so well prepared and presented. Definitely has a European vibe.
Food took too long to be delivered. One that was bruscetta with tomato sauce and cheese was delivered without the cheese and had to be redone. That did not get delivered until almost the end of the meal. Prefer the more traditional tapas style of "little plates" lined up or items on toothpicks that diners choose as they look at them. Too loud inside to have a conversation.
Went to Mairposa with another couple with the intent of trying various dishes on the tapas menu. First, the menu is a true Spanish influenced menu. While all the choices were excellent, some of the better ones were the chorizo and beef meatballs, the shrimp and peppers and a Wednesday special, the $5 smashburger. We sat inside and, if full, it can be a bit noisy. The outside tables looked like a great place to be on a slightly cooler evening. Service was attentive and all the dishes were brought out promptly and hot.
Ordered Gazpacho ( not your usual form of gazpacho) and Pulpo and loved both. I loved the extremely flavorful olive oil! My friend ordered Pan Con Tomate and Solomillo Con Cabrales. She was told that her dish could not be served medium well as she desired, but she ordered anyway. It was unusually rare even for a rare meat person as myself, so stay away from that choice if you like meat more well done. The server offered to return it to the kitchen, but at that point, my friend turned down her offer. Our server, Beth, was very attentive in just the right way and most informative with her beautiful pronunciation of the unfamiliar Spanish words. She made our experience more pleasant. Because we ate early in the day, the inside seating was chilly, so we elected to sit outside. The street noise was distracting, and I would bring a sweater and choose inside seating the next time. I will return to try other dishes and hopefully have Beth as a server again.
Loved it. We were seated outdoors, enjoyed fresh air and conversation with fellow diners. Loved the pulpo, and the Sangria and Negroni were spectacular! We witnessed wait staff deal with an inpatient patron kindly and with grace.... Well done.
The menu was really limited and the food was really average. Would not recommend. Very casual spot with expensive menu.
Food was pretty good. Flavors very good. Steer away from the potato omelet... the potato was like a rock. Service was less than desirable. Waited over a half hour for drinks. I think our original server quit. Never saw that person anywhere in the restaurant again. Food came out pretty fast. Then the bill came and they ran the credit card for the wrong amount. They apparently closed another table out. We are still trying to get that fixed. Overheard the manager/owner complaining that we dared to get the bill corrected... after "all he had done for us" which was.. what, exactly? Comped the first round of drinks that took about 40 minutes to get to us? We will give them a bit to get it together before returning.
Really great place, super friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Highly recommend, and will definitely be going back.
Everythin about my visit was perfect. The customer service, the food, the atmosphere. Beautiful place!
Unique restaurant with tapas or small plates. Service was excellent, food better than average but the noise level was so loud we could hardly hear our table mates
Tapas close to those of Barcelona but not quite there. Flan was very tasty but very heavy no sauce. Service was outstanding!
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable - our server - Miranda - did an excellent job of answering questions and steering us in the direction of foods that the three of us would enjoy.
Had a delicious meal at Mariposa yesterday. Great to have a tapas restaurant in Wilmington. Wonderful food and attentive service. Will definitely go back.
