    Food and drinks took a long time when they weren’t busy at all. The waitress was unpleasant. Their menu is limited and the food it’s okay. Also, very disappointed to see the 94 sanitation score.

    Our server was beyond professional. Accurately described the tapas menu for us and his recommendations did not disappoint. Drink recommendations were top notch. Would definitely go back.

    Food was absolutely amazing, great view, environment, but our server was not very communicative. We were charged $24 for a cocktail, she never even bother to tell us the price difference, when we approached her, she said, “oh yeah, we charge you like it was shots”

    Won't be going back.... Appetizers never came out, when we asked, they were delivered with our meal which was ice cold and the eggs had sat so long they were scrambled bricks.... The food is not cheap so them not offering any recompence for the nightmare food/service is an indicator they just do not care. Save your money or try somewhere else - Mariposa should be missed.............

    I consider this our special place to eat. Our waitress made us feel like it was indeed a special place. Making on line reservations was easy. I appreciated very much the e mail notification that the Mint Museum parking deck was closed and the recommendation of where to park.

    This was our first visit to Mariposa. Vibrant ambiance with a fairly high noise level. Nice cityscape view. Outdoor patio was fairly large but seemingly under lit with only a couple patrons though it was a nice night. Inside, tasteful decor emphasized black and white with large paintings and swirls on the walls. Service was very fast, professional and efficient. Drinks were a bit on the pricey side overall. Our cocktails were very good. We ordered 5 small plates for the two of us and this proved to be the perfect amount. Tomato, feta, cucumber salad was farm fresh and perfectly seasoned. The cauliflower with golden raisins was a surprising and very tasty combination. The tuna with furikake was not our personal favorite—not sure we like this combination, and the orange flavored base provided too much liquid to the dish. The merguez-flavored duck was flavorful, sitting atop 3 flat, firm biscuits and topped with micro greens. The 4 corn fritters were deep golden and crisp on the outside, and dumpling-like and dense on the inside. They served as our starch for the meal. This tapas is best shared as they are fairly heavy. We finished with the elderberry tart with possibly fig, meringue, candied ginger, lemon curd and a gingerbread crust. This was a creative combination that surprised the palate. We don’t know if it was the gingerbread crust or an additional spice in it that seemed incompatible with the fruit and ultimately made us abandon this dessert. Overall we enjoyed the food and atmosphere of Mariposa.

    We ordered the mussels. They are served in the can as they are shipped. Tasted like canned tuna. Not worth the money. The corn fritters and lettuce wraps were very tasty. It was a beautiful Charlotte evening and we actually ate outside. Service was slow so we didn’t have time for dessert. Not sure we will go back.

    Amazing food, service, drinks and views. Only complaint is the playlist on the patio which does not fit the vibe of the restaurant. Felt like "sports bar" music. Otherwise, it was wonderful! Highly recommend!

    Food came out quick. The small plates we tried were all packed with flavor and texture. We especially enjoyed the tuna crudo but all the dishes were delicious. Our waiter O’Neil was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. We will definitely return.

    Sat on time for reservation, no wait, almost all tables occupied plus most of the bar. One cackling woman was annoying but not terribly noisy. Ordered sourdough and mussels (very San Fran), cucumber and tomato salad, potatoes over tzadziki, pork belly bulgogi wraps, Gullah paella. Pinot Noir and a Saison (out of the wheat beer). Well paced service, all the dishes were great, the paella was the star. Noticed the wood fired kabobs on the online menu were not on the menu we were presented and neither was the charcuterie board, though I noticed the wood grill was operating.

    Service was excellent and they also removed the dessert from our bill since it took forever to come out. Food was delicious and beautifully served, the ambience is a very fine dining experience, beautifully decorated and quiet. Perfect both for a business dinner or a date, I'll surely be back! The ribs and the mushroom focaccia were to die for and the flamed sticky putting also a delicious perfect dessert to end an amazing dinner experience.

    We sat outside during Pride festival, so there was a fair amount of noise from the street. HOWEVER, this should not detract from the great evening we had. Food, service and drink queries we had on cocktails were all top notch. Our waitron brought over a drink specialist to our table, and all interactions with other staff, even the carriers dropping of plates or drinks was excellent. Very friendly and great vide. We loved our experience with the whole team and venue of Mariposa.

    Food was very very great and came very fast. On my reservation it asked if it was a special occasion to where I clicked anniversary, however I’m a little confused as to why that mattered because nothing was done out of the ordinary or asked about it. Besides that it was really good. Tables are pretty close and pretty loud for a first date but fun vibes.

    This is a great place to go prior to an event at Knight Theater. The staff, food, drinks and ambiance are outstanding. We especially love the roasted mushrooms and pork belly wraps. Bartenders are friendly and ready to offer recommendations. A great place for groups or just seating at the bar.

    Atmosphere and setting are excellent and set high expectations. To open I got a gin & tonic with almost no tonic, which when I asked for tonic to be added came back tasting mouldy. We got a black truffle spread which had almost no truffle in it, and finally a paella. This contained overcooked seafood that was placed on a bed of rice that had been quickly cooked (and burnt in places). It was flavourful but dry and not really a traditional paella. All pretty disappointing as the restaurant presents itself as high end.

    Our waitperson was friendly, pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. We had the pulled duck and chorizo small shareable. I highly recommend that dish. We also shared the Short rib over cream sweet potatoes. Excellent. Our meal was enjoyed on the patio with a nice view.

    We were there for jazz brunch and were very disappointed. We had previously been to Mariposa for dinner and had a fabulous experience. But this time the food was average, 2 or our orders were wrong, service very slow, and the music was so loud that conversation was very difficult.

    There was a problem with our reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated. In fairness, they were slammed because of a large event happening next door. The manager did his best to rectify the situation. Props to him! However, the staff didn't know the menu or what certain items were so led to them bringing wrong dishes out twice. It's a shame because of great location and potential. Staff needs to be trained up.

    Hip and trendy atmosphere in Uptown Charlotte. Great location for dinner before performance at Knight Theatre. Diverse selection of cocktails and small and large plates. Nailah at the bar provided excellent service. We'll be back.
