Pasta were delicious... but very disappointing so-called cappucino (just an average latte)
Great ambiance, quiet and delicious food!
Great food, great service, great time.
Super cute place with great food and service. Made for a perfect spot for anniversary dinner with the wife. Outdoor seating is more hectic/crowded, so we chose to eat inside where it was dark and romantic. Food was delicious and filling and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend.
First time visitors. Will return. Lovely staff. Outdoor dining available
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. There aren't many places that warrant becoming a regular. This is one of them.
A treasure in the neighborhood! Mariella serves excellent food and their service is impeccable. We went there for my husband's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They are also knowledgeable about celiac disease and have s variety of gluten free dishes to enjoy. One note - if you're prone to mosquito bites, wear bug repellent if you sit on their patio. I left with 10 mosquito bites in the span of about one hour.
I love this restaurant. The food is always delicious and fresh.
The owners are lovely as is the staff.
Outstanding quality. Portions were good size. Price as fair for quality and quantity served. Very friendly atmosphere
I enjoyed the food. Our waiter gave good recommendations and the service was timely. I would certainly return again
Great scallop risotto, but skip the $8 house montepulciano.
Mariella is a great neighborhood find! The food has been delicious every time, and the service is friendly and good. The outdoor area is pretty spacious, and the inside is cute. Highly recommend!
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Would recommend it highly.
Excellent food with great service. Great value too. Will be back!
Our third trip to Mariella’s in a year. A cozy homey neighborhood cafe where the staff is very friendly and even remembered the wine we chose the last time
Just WOW. My fiancée and I were floored by the amazing food here. I got a scallop risotto with a reduction and he got pork medallions. The avocado salad and burrata appetizers we got to start were fantastic as was the tartufo and hazelnut gelato to finish. We also loved the wine.
Will absolutely be back and highly recommend
The food was delicious but the portion size is small.
Dinner was great. If you are a big eater, order Some appetizers.
Very friendly staff! Nice ambience.
Great spot, good food.
Delicious, cozy, romantic and super friendly. This place is a gem.
Neighborhood gem. We've become regulars. The food and the people are great.
We went to have dinner at Mariella's with two picky children. They made spaghetti meatballs for them, and they loved it. For adults the food was delicious and very affordable for what you get. Although the portions could be a bit bigger. We are definitely going back.
We started with a salad and meatballs.Appetizers were not impressive.Entrees were also okay. Overall no big deal . Service was good, however, no need to go back, since we were coming from bay ridge.
Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Appetizers were delicious. Steak was great, and scallops were very good. Great service.
The food at Mariella is well above average. The menu has variety without being overwhelming. The food is fresh and the recipes make for some tasty versions of common dishes. Unfortunately, this restaurant has the same tragic flaw of so many Brooklyn restaurants - the tables are virtually communal. They make almost comical efforts to pretend there is actual air between tables. I don't put up with this silliness in Manhattan, why should I in Brooklyn where the restaurants should be able to operate on a lower overhead? If I am going to have to listen to someone else's stories of the week, I should be told ahead of time about the arrangements. And, as is the case elsewhere, its not necessary. Just take out the cute side bench and arrange the tables back-to-back instead of side-to-side!
One of my favorite places the cuisine and service can not be beat !
Always a pleasure. Becoming our favorite neighborhood eatery.
If you have been here, you will go back. If you have not been here, well make reservations as you will not be disappointed.
Went for my daughters 28 th bd. Small cozy restaurant. Limited menu but clearly fresh and delish
I went with my family for Thanksgiving. I didn't know, it wasn't a restaurant for children. But! They made us so comfortable. And accommodated my girl's. My fiancee had the braised short ribs. My God it just fell off the bone. SO! delicious. I had the beef bolognese. Ugh, to die for. My girl's had the meatballs with red sauce. My Charlotte, well she is very picky. And! said, mommy two thumbs up. Lol. My other child had the Thanksgiving fixing. She loved it. We felt right at home. With amazing food and good company. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving for our family. We will be coming back.
A place that makes you feel like home
the halibut had literally no seasoning. both dishes with pasta was slightly overcooked. octopus was slimy.
our waiter actually told us we had to order everything at once. we wanted to start by ordering some appetizers and he said we needed to give the entire order. never had that experience before. we had to ask many times for water- not really any attention from waiters.
The four of us our dinner group enjoyed wine, appetizers, entrees and delicious desserts. We were promptly seated, had a very good waiter, great assistant waitstaff, we weren't rushed through our dinner or after dessert wine finishing.
Mariella was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent. We never felt rushed. I will be coming back many times over.
Our go-to neighborhood Italian. Consistently excellent.
Wonderful restaurant. A perfect place to spend our anniversary. Food was amazing, service great, and the outdoor seating was beautiful.
My wife and I came here for brunch last weekend. We both had the crab Benedict. Her eggs where cooked over, and might as well have been a hard boiled egg. She asked for sauce on the side, which they did. She sent her eggs back, and they re-fired her meal. They then came out with a fresh plate, no new sauce, just the one left on the table from earlier. Hollandaise sauce does not hold well over 15 minutes, the sauce got cold and broke.
She watched me eat my eggs while they recooked hers. Every table had bread, but ours. When asked about that the server responded "You ordered the Benedict, it comes with bread, so we don't give you table bread". Either the server can read minds (if so, there are more lucrative paths he can take), or he just didn't want to give us bread. Maybe he's a nutritionist as well???
Now to the actual dish... Crab Benedict can be delicious...this was not. Store bought muffin, fine, but at least toast it.... Crab meat, clearly was just thawed out, and thrown on top of the un-toasted muffin, no seasoning, no sprinkle of salt or pepper, maybe some old bay, or cumin... crab meat was flavorless, and bread became soggy.
We had high hopes for this restaurant. We live around the corner, and would have liked to come back for dinner, but if they are unable to properly season crab meat, and unable to properly poach an egg, I have limited faith they can properly cook more complicated proteins.
