Very disappointed, 11 years ago when living here I used to come often. The pasta were just very salty. And we had to struggle to get 2 different bills with my colleague.
Nothing wrong but no wow factor. Beef salad was good but spaghetti vongol had two much garlic and muscles tasted strong.
Food was ok. Spouse had chicken and rigatoni - chicken was somewhat tough. I had what I thought was osso bucco from the menu was served a special that was 33% more expensive. Description on menu matched what I was served. Meat was stringy.
Not crowded so noise was very low.
Wait staff not well versed on wines. Did not know difference of unoaked or oaked chardonnay. Tried to bluff their way around the question - I read the bottle labels to chose the wine.
Hadn't been to Maria Pia for a while, so decided to go there after seeing Wicked. Food was excellent, service was very good, and meals were very reasonably priced. Glad the quality was the same as I remembered. We had the rigatoni alla butera and the rigatoni pollo pazzo - both were delicious. We will definitely return when in the city for theater.
We had lunch here on a Saturday and Monday of Presidents' Day weekend. The ambiance is very intimate, warm & welcoming
Terrible service. We were celebrating two birthdays and they kept circling our table like vultures. Then when we told them we were celebrating they brought us a tiramisu and charged us $9 for it when I literally spit it out it was so bad. The entire time they just stared at us
I enjoyed and meal and service. The location was excellent.
I love Maria Pia food is outstanding service very attentive ask for mike make you look like king
Our party of four from Louisiana had dined at wonderful restaurants the three previous evenings and this, our last dinner while in NY, was arguably the best! The linguine with clams was exactly the taste one of us was hoping for, while my penne puttanesca was more than I had hoped for. Our waiter seemed to read our minds as he attened our needs almost before we could summon him.
I wish I could dine there tonight; but, I’m now in Louisiana!
The only small complaint, and not a large one, was a lack of varieties of whiskey for cocktails requiring better ones than what was on hand. My wife’s Cosmopolitan was satisfactory and my glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was delicious! It was a fine dining experience!
We had a nice time out to dinner. The food was tasty and the service was very quick. The only complaint is that it almost felt as if we were being rushed out with how quickly we were being served.
Great food and service
Overall, a very nice meal for the price. Both of us were a bit disappointed in our entrees after enjoying very nice appetizers (I highly recommend the octopus). My cod could have been cooked a little longer; the polenta was kind of runny, and not the way I usually eat it. My partner felt the veal picatta was rather bland. Perhaps we'll try again, and sample some of the other entrees.
Group of us went before Wicked.
Have been coming here for years. The food only gets better. Prices are reasonable. The service could be a little better, but not bad. Typical theater district service.
It was crowded and noisy...and the food was OK... but not exceptional
Very disappointed in the Calamari. It was so rubbery, had to even chew. Entrees were good but portions for price were small. Nice atmosphere, smiling friendly host but waiter didn't smile once and seemed very unhappy all night
It was a nice experience. The staff was friendly and very accommodating
Great Italian pasta menu and the food was delicious.
The food and waitstaff were very good. However, the hostess was rude. We had a 5:15 reservation and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. She sat us next to the kitchen and was annoyed when I asked to be moved.
Food and service as excellent! Went there before seeing a broadway show. I am a vegan and they were very helpful to my needs. There were 5 of us and we all left very happy
