Amazing to try a root Russian cousin w a very welcome service ! Loves it and highly recommend.
Meh, below average. I’ve been to many Russian places (including Mari Vanna a few years ago) and i don’t think I’ve had more disappointing experience. And it isn’t cheap there!!
Olivier salad - 3.5/5
Herring - 2.5/5
Beef tongue - 3.5/5
Beef stroganoff - 2/5 (I sent it back)
Honey cake - 5/5
Chocolate cake - 3/5

Great ambiance with excellent Russian cuisine. We will definitely be back
We found a New Favorite restrauant! We look forward to return!
Can't wait to use the key!
It was a nice friend's get together experience!!! I enjoyed my visit to Mari Vanna in a different way than usual. With no crowds, it was a midweek lunch time. Music, service, coziness of the place on the cold winter day made this visit a really enjoyable one. I want to bring all my friends
and family to this place! So beautiful and welcoming!
One of my favorite spot. The decor is over the top luxury vibe mixed with shabby chic elements. Service is perfect with just the right hint of snobbiness. Food is always out of this world.
High quality food and service and beautiful designe, We had such a great experience. Unfortunately they are not gonna work with open table from 2018.
Have dined here on more than one occasion. The ambiance and the food are incredible.
Fantastic restaurant! My favorite place in New York!
We were dining at Marivanna twice before, and it was great! This time we had friends visiting from Boston and decided to have nice late lunch/early dinner with them at Marivanna. I booked a table for 4 o'clock, but got a call from the restaurant, that they will be closed at 4 and re-scheduled us for 3. First of all, we had tickets to see the concert at Carnegie Hall and needed to leave earlier. But it was probably my fault, I shouldn't agree to move our dinner. And second: it was Sunday brunch at the restaurant. We didn't fine anything special about it. It was buffet with very ordinary Russian food ordinary served. Nothing attractive and authentic I want to show our friends. Plus, I think it is very overpriced. $38 for lunch? Too much money. Everything extra, including even tea and water costed us extra money.
I will still recommend Marivanna, but not for Sunday brunch definitely. It was disappointing.
It's my first time to taste Russian cuisine. Lovely blinis and the chicken is really good. Also romantic environment and very good service.
Best evening out in Manhattan in years; the food the people the vodka the interior design: it doesn't get any better than this place, and I've been living in Manhattan for 30 years!
It was my first time visiting Mari Vanna restaurant. Truly Russian food and unbelievable and cozy atmosphere. Me and my colleagues spent 40 min to get there from our office, but it was worth it. Even though it took some time to prepare food, by the end of our business lunch everyone said that they will definitely come back.
The atmosphere was great and the cocktails were very inventive.
This is our go to place for fun special occasions. It can get a little cramped as it is a small place, but for authentic Russian fare and flights of flavored vodka, it can't be beat.
Beautiful place,good service,amazing food
I purchased a deal on Pulsd for Saturday brunch for two. It included two appetizers and two entrees and should have included two drinks per person but my guest and I had only one.
The waiter never mentioned we were entitled to two more. I wish he had. I was dying for a second cup of tea.
The food was delicious. We ordered a vegetable salad which came served in a lovely crystal pedestal dish and the salmon salad. Both portion were ample enough to almost be a meal on their own. The entrees included cheese blini and potato dumplings which we enjoyed very much. I especially appreciated how the meal was served on mismatched china plates with doilies and an in an array of lovely serving pieces which added to the enormous amount of charm of the dining room. There were so many beautiful objects around the room I didn’t know what to gaze on first. Even the restrooms were beautifully appointed with hand painted porcelain sinks and fresh washcloths instead of paper towels. I will most definitely return for another visit.
Mari Vanna is a little hidden gem of Gramercy. The staff is very welcoming, and the atmosphere is lively and serene at the same time. The decor is fantastic, chairs are amazingly comfortable. Little treats happen with ever layer of service, including charming pot holders, plate warmers, wooden sculptural serving platters, and pocket books that hold your bill when you're ready to go. The food is outstanding, fresh, lively, authentic rustic. Great people scene too, people from all over come to this gem.
Quality Russian food catered in some sort of European imperialistic settings with pre-war/retro background music.
Love this place!!! Best Russian restaurant I've been to. Food is absolutely delicious and the ambiance feels so cozy. Love!!
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Good alcohol selection.
The food is delicious!!!
The service is very good !!!
We will recommend this restaurant and definitely come back.
It is an excellent place for intimate get togethers with friends over good quality Russian food.
Great food, great service and great ambience. If you want to have russian food this is definetly the best spot. Everything on the menu is amazing and all employees are very nice and cheerful.
A lovely place, nice decoration from Russia. It reminds me on my grandma hospitality. Food is delicious, service excellent. We had a great time.
Classy authentic Russian cousin. Salo, bread, vodka, beef stroganoff, chicken cutlets, hot tea with cherry jam!
Love this place for an authentic Russian experience in NYC
Fantastic! I suggest vodka and dumplings to start off the meal.
