          The food was absolutely fantastic. It was delicious, creative, and beautifully presented. My wife and I ate at Atomix a few days before Mari and while Atomix was delicious, we both think we enjoyed Mari even more. Mari is also a much better value. The wine list at Mari is modest and they had a new Oolang granita dessert where the bitterness was a bit overwhelming, but every other dish was somewhere between very good and extraordinary.

          The AC was broken but they gave no advance notice and it was the hottest day of the summer. Given that this is a tasting menu, that meant sitting in a room for 3.5 hours. I can tell you exactly how hot it was inside the restaurant because I was sitting in view of the thermostat which read at 89 F. Food was good but difficult to enjoy given this. The servers were lovely and tried their best to give us ice every so often. Management did not acknowledge the problem at any time during or after the dinner either; they comped two drinks but that does not at all make up for this very disappointing experience. Not what I would expect for this price point. Will not be recommending to anyone.

          Really great experience - food was flavorful and creative but what stood out most was the service. Super kind and thoughtful and went out of their way to make it an enjoyable night! Will be coming again.

          It is always a treat to eat at Mari. The food is delectable and substantial. I always leave happy and full. The staff is also gracious and accommodating. They proactively take care of any issues you face and make sure that your entire meal goes well. I would definitely recommend you eat at Mari. You will be very glad you did.

          It took a while for the meal to get started, but after it did the pace was good. We sat at the chefs counter and "our" chef, Chris was a pleasure, very friendly and interesting. That being said, the noise/music level made conversation with anyone other than the person sitting next to you was very difficult. They were very considerate of my lactose intolerance, and the alternatives presented were each excellent.

          Mari, always amazing, is at the top of its game. The chef continues to modify his creations with delicious tweaks. Every mouthful is delicious with all kinds of perfectly blended flavors and textures. The staff are all charming and service is excellent. An altogether delightful experience. For the food and the experience, the cost is surprising reasonable. Five Stars all around.

          Dining at Mari was a new level of dining experience. I have dined at Michelin star restaurants before, but Mari is quite apart. The ambiance is unassuming and modest, which relaxes and puts you in a more casual frame of mind. It is almost disarming. Service is meticulous, but friendly and helpful. The chefs are in the center of a horseshoe sushi bar, and are readily observable. The meticulous precision with which they place every detail, much of it using fine tweezers, betrays the quality and builds the eagerness to receive each course of the tasting menu. Each course is a small work of art to behold. I have never felt an urge to photograph a dish, until this meal. The combination of flavors, when taken in a single mouthful evolve, like a fine wine. The first taste gives way to a second and crescendos at the end. The meal was long, nearly 3 hours, but seemed far shorter, as each course reset the time, with anticipation for the next. The wine pairings added an additional complement to each course. If you are not driving, the wine pairing is well worth adding. Dessert was a play on coffee and doughnut holes which redefine the age old concept. My son and I look forward to our next time to share this great dining experience.

          We’ve been to Mari twice now (the first time was right after they opened and were still a hidden gem in Hell’s Kitchen) and the food and the chef’s table experience have been absolutely incredible both times. There’s a reason they have three Michelin Stars. Yes, it’s a special-occasion meal, but it is 100% worth it.
