Excellent food and service. Highly recommended
While the food was great, the service was off on every level. From the fact that we sat and ordered beverages, and they came to take our order every 3 minutes (after we told them we wanted some time - and the joint was virtually empty, so they didn't need the table), to them dropping off the check before we ordered coffee and dessert. Given that we were the only table outside, I don't' know why they were rushing us through. Food was good. We ordered dessert that was panna cotta with sorbet, and had to remind server to bring sorbet.
No hostess at front desk and my guest and I -- who I had not met -- were seated on opposite sides of restaurant. Service was lackluster.
I usually come here because it is relatively empty and very conveniently located. The food is good. The service is quite slow for how few people are in the restaurant. The restaurant looks like a New York nightclub. I wish it were a casual restaurant with a broader menu. I feel that they have missed the mark with what the neighborhood needs.
We were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel and when we saw Sunday Brunch we thought it would be a great idea. So we made a reservation for 11am. We arrived a little early so we waited at the Copper Lounge adjacent to the restaurant. Well before I start, I want to say that the team at the Intercontinental was fabulous, but the team at the restaurant was lost and we apparently went through three waiters, yet none of them told us about changes nor ever asked if we needed anything.
We sat down with a drink from the bar, then discovered that the buffet ended at 11am, so we had to go ala carte. Then we ordered two drinks. Our food arrived and I guess our waiter went on a break, (no butter for the toast and no drinks). We waited patiently for about 20 minutes, we were almost finished with brunch when we finally found a waiter and asked about our waiter and our drinks... "he went on break, I'm taking care of you, let me check on your drinks" she said and never came back. another 5~10 minutes go by and a third waiter came over with our check...still no cocktails....we finally got our cocktails from waitress #2 and took them to go. Very frustrating.
They were very apologetic and the did not charge us for the drinks. Still what is brunch without some drinks...had we had a waiter assigned to pay attention to us, we would have ordered several drinks, they have a great cocktail list, but alas, one free drink to go.
It is a shame, when a beautiful place with such great service, great bar (Copper Lounge) has a restaurant that just forgets about it's customers. Next time we'll go somewhere else for brunch.
We arrived just when the restaurant to his opening for dinner service. The staff was on point and helpful however there was nothing memorable about the experience. My girlfriend and I have decided not to revisit only because the InterContinental brand raises the bar of expectations which went unfulfilled. The Beef Cheek was quite enjoyable yet the accoutrement lacked any imagination or statement. It felt like sweet potatoes and that we could have gotten from the supermarket on our own in a can.
Starting with a drink in the Copper lounge followed by being greeted by Dion the maître d' the entire experience is amazing. If you get to pick your waiter try to get Amir Who is knowledgeable personable and a delight to be with. The food was amazing the tomato melon snd burrata salad delicious. The shrimp and lobster ravioli with superb. every aspect of the dinner was wonderful.
The decor was pretty, in a very simplistic way. The service was very good for the most part, although we "lost" our server at one point. (perhaps he was delivering a room service order?) We were there on the early side of a Tuesday night. The restaurant wasn't very busy at all, and by the time we were finished I think our server was the only one there. The food was good, but not exceptional for the price. The desserts, however, were not so good. Those we ordered were just okay; and the little cake they brought for my friend's birthday.. it looked lovely. But when we tasted it, there was some sort of liquid soaked into a layer of the cake that was so salty, it was salty to the point of being extremely bitter. I couldn't keep the bite in my mouth. It wasn't very noisy, but then there weren't that many people there. I suspect if the restaurant were close to full, it would be very noisy. All in all, it was a pleasant meal with good service in nice surroundings. However, with all the wonderful places to eat in Los Angeles, (for the same or less money), I don't plan to go back here.
Grest place to dine after enjoying the beautiful spa in the hotel complete with a heated toilet. I'd make a good personal day - massage, pool and dinner.
Very low options for lunch menu bad service it tasted like cheap hotel food. Very expensive
