Fantastic restaurant, service was amazing and each course didn’t disappoint.
As always the best place to have a wonderful dinner. The staff are outrageously knowledgeable and friendly. They are very attentive throughout the whole dinner. I can’t rave enough of this fabulous gem. Great food and cozy atmosphere.
Excellent service. We celebrated a late Valentines Day. The food was excellent and the French wine list was superb.
They were able to accommodate my gluten free diet. Walker was our server and was very personable and attentive. We had brunch with bottomless bubbles and it do NOT disappoint. Look forward to returning!
Excellent! they went above and beyond to make my wife and I's anniversary memorable.
Amazing service, full of lovely attentions! We’ll come back.
Simply amazing. I make a point to seek out French bistros wherever I go. I am so glad I followed the recommendation of a friend in NY. No idea where to start or finish. Just sublime.
Food runner brought out my entree twice. I thought that was very odd.
I enjoy the Brunch and the band very much . Staff and service is first class . Food is top notch . You won’t be disappointed.
Outstanding all around as per usual. Our new favorite standard for a quiet date night, a family dinner or a business meeting.
The service was amazing!
Our service was excellent. However the food was not up to par this time. The steak tartare was discolored and the duck breast not warm. My loupe de mare was wonderful. Perhaps this was just an off-night. I'll give it another try.
Absolutely the best French toast I’ve ever had!!!!
I was there for my birthday but my waiter was awful. Just didn’t pay attention and kept me waiting for every single requirement
It was perfect! Beautiful place and amazing food! Get the Lemon/Blueberry french toast!
Amazing! Food was incredible and the service was the best I've ever encountered. We are already planning our next dinner there.
Beautiful setting, wonderful service and delicious food. My party was well taken care of.
Delightfully surprised by the excellent of this hotel restaurant. Pleased with everything.
Great place to have a delicious dinner with delicious beverages!
Perfect brunch experience service was amazing!
We went to Margeaux because it was a celebration and I wanted a Jazz Brunch. The service was exceptional - by everyone. The food was good but for the price, I wouldn't say it was exceptional.
Overall, we enjoyed the brunch because of the ambiance and the company. My only real complaint is that the jazz band took too many breaks for this to be labeled a jazz brunch. We hear live music at least 2 times a week and I have never seen a band take so many breaks. And since this was the reason we chose this restaurant, I will say I was disappointed.
Always wonderful. The service, ambience, food, drinks, everything is exceptional.
Food was delicious and ambiance was very nice. Wait staff was attentive and the cocktails were impressive. Menu had a great selection as wall and it wasn’t too overpriced. Would definitely recommend for fine French dining.
The staff was fantastic. The food delicious what more can you ask for?
It showed a dinner menu and a valentines day menu when I made the reservation. I was under the impression that both menus were available as it showed as it did not state it would not be just the valentines menu only for that night. When I got there I had to pay $150 for each person according to the menu there so $300 total plus tip of course, as it was only the valentines day menu they were serving. I was originally planning not to be forced to only use that menu so i was already mad and misinformed from the posting on their site. I asked if the other menu option was available as it showed it when I made the reservation as the female server told me it is not available and I was forced than to stay becuse if I was to leave there would be a $150 charge automatically to my account for canceling or leaving under 48 hours and than the cost and ordeal of finding a open spot to eat that was late and tonight would add up to be the same combined with this charge now if not more as we live in the subburbs. So I did not have a choice.
The food I understand the restaurant theme and it is a elegant place, but it was really small portions and not food we usually eat or like, but that was because I went there for the dinner menu as I was told and seen waa suppose to be available. The size and choices were small nothing available and not worth it for that price point for the meal overall being served.
Amazing, thank you
Went for Valentine’s Day and the restaurant neglected to inform us when they confirmed our reservation that it was a prefix tasting menu for $120/person not including tax and gatuity. The meal was simply not worth $120 at all, I left hungry and feeling ripped off. Just another chicago restaurant taking advantage of everyone on Valentine’s Day
Always excellent! There was a special Valentine’s Evening prix fixe cuisine offering which was creative with great back of the house execution and presentation. Exceptional depth in the wine and spirits selections with a veteran Sommelier performing attentive and correct wine service. All of the staff is well trained, very professional and accommodating. On this evening, there was an exceptional Jazz combo performing in the dining area. Very nice evening. Highly recommended.
Valantine’s day
It was my birthday, and the hostess greeted me with a birthday card. Nice touch. My sister and I ordered two bottles of wine and quite a bit of food. The entire bill, including tip, was almost $400. Shocked to see our desserts were not comped, as is customary in most nicer establishments.
Margeaux has has excellent service and food ! I recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
This was a wonderful dinner. The steaks were grilled to perfection. O to have that Brussel sprouts recipe. I don’t believe I’ve ever tasted a side as good as that
This is probably my 5th or 6th time to Margeaux Brasserie. The meal was not up to par with previous visits. My guest had the cassoulet. She said it was just so-so and served barely lukewarm. I had the arctic char, which was good. The service was excellent as usual.
For those who wish to enjoy an upscale French cuisine experience, Margeaux Brasserie should be strongly considered. The staff is excellent and one is greeted in a friendly but respectful manner, snd Pleasing the customer is obviously Paramount. I have a gluten-free requirement which was broadly addressed with multiple options. There are some interesting and unique cocktails available, satisfactory wine list both by the glass and bottle, and a very broad wide food menu., with an amalgam of classic entrées and interesting offerings. The food was delicious and the ambience delightful
A thoroughly enjoyable experience! The steak tartar was excellent--the house made potato chips were a surprise instead of the usual baguette slices as an accompaniment. The porcini ravioli was rich and satisfying, more than ample portion. The miniature madeleines were a lovely touch to go with the creme brulee. Altogether the atmosphere was charming and quiet, with attentive service. The Chicago Restaurant Week 3 Courses for $24 Menu was a real bargain. So glad I chose it for my annual Restaurant Week treat.
Five of my friends and I went there for the special Restaurant Week diner. Oh, great choose and delicious food. I had the duck for the main course. It was the best ever.
Very expensive for the food. Not very original or particularly tasty for that price range.
Nice ambiance and cocktails but the food is not worth this price.
Overall it was a decent experience. But we were told that they couldn’t substitute bread for the potato chips (potato allergy) with the beef tartar because it would « compromise the meal, » which is strange because it’s served with bread most other places just fine. Also, for $56 the sole meunière wasn’t worth it. There is no presentation in the service. For $36 at other restaurants you get the whole filleting at the table. Do that instead.
exquisite place, feels like being in France. Food is good, cocktails too. The restaurant has class.
I checked out the restaurant week menu and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was made with high quality and ingredients. The dishes showed the work of very skilled chefs. I would highly recommend this place.
