Beautiful setting, wonderful service and delicious food. My party was well taken care of.
Delightfully surprised by the excellent of this hotel restaurant. Pleased with everything.
Great place to have a delicious dinner with delicious beverages!
Perfect brunch experience service was amazing!
We went to Margeaux because it was a celebration and I wanted a Jazz Brunch. The service was exceptional - by everyone. The food was good but for the price, I wouldn't say it was exceptional.
Overall, we enjoyed the brunch because of the ambiance and the company. My only real complaint is that the jazz band took too many breaks for this to be labeled a jazz brunch. We hear live music at least 2 times a week and I have never seen a band take so many breaks. And since this was the reason we chose this restaurant, I will say I was disappointed.
Always wonderful. The service, ambience, food, drinks, everything is exceptional.
Food was delicious and ambiance was very nice. Wait staff was attentive and the cocktails were impressive. Menu had a great selection as wall and it wasn’t too overpriced. Would definitely recommend for fine French dining.
The staff was fantastic. The food delicious what more can you ask for?
It showed a dinner menu and a valentines day menu when I made the reservation. I was under the impression that both menus were available as it showed as it did not state it would not be just the valentines menu only for that night. When I got there I had to pay $150 for each person according to the menu there so $300 total plus tip of course, as it was only the valentines day menu they were serving. I was originally planning not to be forced to only use that menu so i was already mad and misinformed from the posting on their site. I asked if the other menu option was available as it showed it when I made the reservation as the female server told me it is not available and I was forced than to stay becuse if I was to leave there would be a $150 charge automatically to my account for canceling or leaving under 48 hours and than the cost and ordeal of finding a open spot to eat that was late and tonight would add up to be the same combined with this charge now if not more as we live in the subburbs. So I did not have a choice.
The food I understand the restaurant theme and it is a elegant place, but it was really small portions and not food we usually eat or like, but that was because I went there for the dinner menu as I was told and seen waa suppose to be available. The size and choices were small nothing available and not worth it for that price point for the meal overall being served.
Amazing, thank you
Went for Valentine’s Day and the restaurant neglected to inform us when they confirmed our reservation that it was a prefix tasting menu for $120/person not including tax and gatuity. The meal was simply not worth $120 at all, I left hungry and feeling ripped off. Just another chicago restaurant taking advantage of everyone on Valentine’s Day
Always excellent! There was a special Valentine’s Evening prix fixe cuisine offering which was creative with great back of the house execution and presentation. Exceptional depth in the wine and spirits selections with a veteran Sommelier performing attentive and correct wine service. All of the staff is well trained, very professional and accommodating. On this evening, there was an exceptional Jazz combo performing in the dining area. Very nice evening. Highly recommended.
It was my birthday, and the hostess greeted me with a birthday card. Nice touch. My sister and I ordered two bottles of wine and quite a bit of food. The entire bill, including tip, was almost $400. Shocked to see our desserts were not comped, as is customary in most nicer establishments.
Margeaux has has excellent service and food ! I recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
This was a wonderful dinner. The steaks were grilled to perfection. O to have that Brussel sprouts recipe. I don’t believe I’ve ever tasted a side as good as that
This is probably my 5th or 6th time to Margeaux Brasserie. The meal was not up to par with previous visits. My guest had the cassoulet. She said it was just so-so and served barely lukewarm. I had the arctic char, which was good. The service was excellent as usual.
For those who wish to enjoy an upscale French cuisine experience, Margeaux Brasserie should be strongly considered. The staff is excellent and one is greeted in a friendly but respectful manner, snd Pleasing the customer is obviously Paramount. I have a gluten-free requirement which was broadly addressed with multiple options. There are some interesting and unique cocktails available, satisfactory wine list both by the glass and bottle, and a very broad wide food menu., with an amalgam of classic entrées and interesting offerings. The food was delicious and the ambience delightful
A thoroughly enjoyable experience! The steak tartar was excellent--the house made potato chips were a surprise instead of the usual baguette slices as an accompaniment. The porcini ravioli was rich and satisfying, more than ample portion. The miniature madeleines were a lovely touch to go with the creme brulee. Altogether the atmosphere was charming and quiet, with attentive service. The Chicago Restaurant Week 3 Courses for $24 Menu was a real bargain. So glad I chose it for my annual Restaurant Week treat.
Five of my friends and I went there for the special Restaurant Week diner. Oh, great choose and delicious food. I had the duck for the main course. It was the best ever.
Very expensive for the food. Not very original or particularly tasty for that price range.
Nice ambiance and cocktails but the food is not worth this price.
Overall it was a decent experience. But we were told that they couldn’t substitute bread for the potato chips (potato allergy) with the beef tartar because it would « compromise the meal, » which is strange because it’s served with bread most other places just fine. Also, for $56 the sole meunière wasn’t worth it. There is no presentation in the service. For $36 at other restaurants you get the whole filleting at the table. Do that instead.
exquisite place, feels like being in France. Food is good, cocktails too. The restaurant has class.
I checked out the restaurant week menu and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was made with high quality and ingredients. The dishes showed the work of very skilled chefs. I would highly recommend this place.
The staff were quite helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. It was my birthday and they turned the night into an amazing culinary experience. That banana tarte tatin was to die for.
We went for brunch and the food was amazing (we had the French toast and the pancakes; also, the peach lemonade was extremely delicious). The service was excellent too - the pancakes were not on the list, but they still made them for us. I will for sure be back soon.
Great spot for brunch. French omelet was perfect, potatoes were crisp but creamy on the inside. My husband had Eggs Benedict on a croissant- far better than an English muffin! The fresh squeezed OJ was also delightful. Lux setting.
Really enjoyed it - cozy table and excellent wait staff. Food was very well done.
Good service, friendly waiters and no extra charge for a drink "on the rocks"!
The experience was lovely, and the staff made it extra special for our celebration with complimentary champagne. Some felt the food portions were quite small, but delicious.
Reminds us of a Paris Cafe. Excellent Service accompanied by clear food and wine descriptions from wait staff. 1pm is a good, quiet time to go. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience again!
Our Restaurant Week lunch at Margeaux Brasserie was outstanding. The menu options were well balanced even though there were only two choices in each category. For starters. a well seasoned salade Lyonnaise with a perfect poached egg and a generous portion of steak tartare with a perfect, but smaller poached quail egg. The entrees, porcini ravioli and pork schnitzel were nicely plated and delicious. We all opted for the creme brulee for dessert and accompanied our meal with generous pours of not too expensive wine by the glass. Since it was an anniversary celebration, our very efficient and personable waiter surprised us with a glass of champagne. The table had a white cloth, we weren't crowded and the dining room was quiet. All in all a very pleasant experience. Very French.
I loved it! It was my first visit to Margeaux Brasserie, and I definitely will return. The service, atmosphere and food was outstanding and everything I hoped for.
Food was cold
Service was very slow
Yet they were extremely nucr
Wonderful experience. Staff was amazing and the food was exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant
James always takes such good care of me and it was a pleasure to see all of my "regulars." They always make me feel so welcome. The food and service are exceptional, as is the ambiance.
I depend on lunch out on Saturdays to recover from a stressful, tiring week - and - Margeaux never disappoints.
Kudos to everyone and THANK YOU.
We had a great brunch. 7 adults plus one baby in stroller and they made us very comfy in the corner. Food and wine was outstanding.
Margeaux is truly classy. The wait staff is enthusiastic and pleasant and helpful at every turn. I have been there both during Restaurant Week and on normal occasions and it always feels like a treat. The food is rich and delicious, though I wasn’t a big fan of the potato leek soup last time —way too much roe.
The drinks are amazing. The whole place is candlelit and feels romantic and ritzy. I’d definitely go again.
Great food and amazing service. The server was very knowledgeable and super attentive.
As I was researching the best Dover sole in Chicago I was directed to Margeaux a Dover sole should always be presented whole to the guest and filleted in front of them ! Not in the kitchen when paying top $ it needs to be done the right way , furthermore white table cloths should be on the table for dinner ! I am aware this restaurant is a BRASSERIE but it is more the ambiance of a bar ! Step it up WALDORF!
