Hip all-day hotel cafe with an old-world vibe serving seasonal French-Mediterranean fare & drinks.
The service is really lacking. Attention disappears once you sit down. it's a shame as the restaurant is very close by and makes for an easy brunch spot.
Have enjoyed this restaurant a few times - we have family in the neighborhood. Food is wonderful and service has always been great. Only small negative is that it's a bit noisy. But we do enjoy the atmosphere!
This place, located in a hotel, is really nice. Tables, booths, bar, you name it. The ambiance in the front is very cosy, the "covered terrace" is bright and nice too. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back.
Delicious lunch and beautiful garden room in the back. Wonderful service and lunch ❤️
Thank you !!
The only saving grace was the cheese board, it was phenomenal. Unfortunately everything else was sub-par. The service was inattentive, especially for how empty the place was and after we mentioned we were rushing a bit to get to a show. Our entrees were also just boring and bland, definitely not worth the price. There are plenty of better places in the neighborhood eat for that amount of money.
A lovely place to have a leisurely breakfast, with great choices. Service is friendly and attentive. Don’t miss the fireplace in the lobby area of Marlton Hotel, where you can linger over coffee (and food). A great find in the heart of the Village
Family gathering lots of time to talk and not be interrupted! Thanks!
A perfect place to meet friends for a meal, or coffee and some nibbles. Friendly and attentive staff.
Server was not wonderful. Salmon was inedible.
Lovely hotel restaurant where we met friends for breakfast. Food was delicious, although the menu was oddly limited (gluten free bread basket, but no gluten full fresh baked goods for example!) and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
Worst service ever. Different menu and much more expensive than advertised on website. Have liked in the past but never going back again.
Margaux is in a charming space in a fun hotel, and the food is good if not exceptional. But it's fairly noisy and the service from our waiter was appalling. He lied to us about the contents of a cocktail we ordered (we asked for a brand of vodka Margaux doesn't carry and he told us they did, not telling us that he'd be replacing it with something we didn't want), challenged us obnoxiously when we asked for a slight variation on a pasta dish (we requested it not come with sausage because we don't eat pork for religious reasons), and generally ignored us the rest of the time. We're not difficult customers--in fact we go out of our way to be friendly and polite to waitstaff--but this guy clearly has competence and attitude problems, and apparently so does Margaux if they hired him and keep him employed there. If they want a loyal clientele they need to do much better.
Food delicious and great service. Love the cosy vibe!
The service was soooooo slow that it felt bizarre. Food was good but nothing special. I had braised kale and scallops.
Both were good but little too salty, even for me (I tend to like more heavily seasoned food). The slowness really weighed on the experience for me.
A hidden gem for a quiet, unrushed dinner. Very attentive & accomodating staff, reasonably good value.
Always pleasant. The restaurant only busy with a few tables. I just don't think people know or book this given it's in the hotel and not some super fancy name. It's always a solid choice and the bar area is nice too. Would be an ideal place to go for a dinner when you want to be able to talk, or with parents.
Highly recommended venue with great bar, restaurant & service
This was my third time at the restaurant and my friend’s first. We both enjoyed a light lunch of butternut squash soup plus a side of meatballs that we shared. The service was a little slow despite there being only a few tables occupied. My cappuccino took a while to appear and I had to remind the server. Other than that the decor and setting provide a tranquil escape midday.
Love the charm and relaxing environment! Hotel originally built in 1900 and updated 2012 keeping the beautifully detailed woodwork and marble everywhere! Hotel was for long stays and housed Lillian Gisch and many other famous people throughout the years. Love it!
The oysters were delicious. My wife had a pasta dish that was good (not fantastic) and I ordered the steak. I ordered the steak medium-rare. The problem was that the steak was closer to well done. To his credit, the waiter walked by as I cut into it and said that it was over cooked and took it back without me saying a word. After sitting for 20 minutes watching my wife eat her meal, the second steak arrived. This time it was medium to medium well. The waiter also noticed this, but since I needed to have something to eat, I decided not to have a third try at it. While this doesn't seem like a big a issue, at $40, the kitchen should know how to cook a steak properly.
The ambience and décor is wonderful and some of our meals were good, like the oysters and the pork entrée. But the chicken dish was dry and the red quinoa was bland and uninteresting. The waiters were average but the manager was very responsive so I'll definitely give it another try.
Nice place in the back of the Marlton Hotel. Will gladly go again. Recommended.
Only my second time dining in Margaux but first time in this gem of an oasis in the back which made me feel as if we were in Florence. The food was delicious, the service fantastic. I will be back for sure.
Great spot for a business lunch. Relaxed vibe with excellent food and service.
everything was great except for the service - had to call the waiter over at least 5 times - was not paying attention to our party of 8. It was not very busy
Delicious food, great service and very conducive to conversation.
Perfect for a leisurely, informal business lunch. Good service, no rush, good food from a small menu.
Very slowly service, food was mediocre and seemed to be pre-cooked not made to order.
Slow service and mediocre food but pretty ambiance
We wanted a good spot for the pride march this worked out perfectly!
Excellent food, service presentation and taste, as well as attending. Very accommodating and we went with our two year old. Wonderful experience.
The meat was undercooked and needed 3 tries to get right, the vegetables looked and tasted terrible
Sea Food not fresh!
Good for brunch but not for dinner.
I have been to Margaux before and had a much better experience but that was also 1.5 years ago.
This time the service was extremely slow and the restaurant was nearly empty. The food was sub par to say the least. I ordered the bucatini which is supposedly one of the best things on the menu and it lacked all flavor- the lobster in the dish was chewy and tasted of rubber meanwhile the bucatini pasta itself was good everything else about the dish was honestly not even worth ordering. The only redeeming quality of the dinner was the french fries that came with the burger.
If youre going for appetizers or to sit outside, this is great! Otherwise - entree is a bit of a miss (lacked flavor) and the service was unfriendly.
Brunch menu looked interesting but execution was lacking. My scrambled eggs with cured salmon looked like it was from a diner and came with one small slice of toast.
Nice venue with less than diner service. Mediocre food. But so much potential if someone managed it right. Why are you ignoring the reviews on consistently awful service?
Good food. Pretty space. Pleasant service but extremely slow.
The food here is outstanding, and the service is good. The wine is rather overpriced however.
