   Awful service, the waiter forgot to put through one of the orders meaning that one of our party did not receive her food until the rest of us had finished. The waiter seemed to care not one iota… zero apology or anything at all. Very very lacklustre. We were the only table eating so he certainly was not overwhelmed.

   We were the only party there. It was a Monday night but it seemed strange to go through the whole rez process. Food was good.

   All four of us enjoyed our food, which included hangar steak, stuffed zucchini flowers, turkey meatballs, pasta with pork ragu, and a crab pasta. The room is lovely, the noise level minimal, and the waiter was very attentive and considerate. The only thing to criticize is the wine list, which is both very amateurish, and also inaccurate. A wine listed as a Burgundy our waiter identified as a Bordeaux (and the wine list even misspells Bordeaux!). When the wine arrived it was neither - but rather a "vin de France." If the wines and the wine list were even half as good as the food, this would be a major improvement.

   Really enjoyed the overall ambieance of Margaux. Service was also great. Rich was especially attentive and welcoming.

   The food was good, perfect size portions (not huge but generous) - great appetizer selection. Love the ambience - pre-war detail, working fireplace, simple elegance. We were disappointed by the service - pleasant staff but took just too long to order drinks, then food, then to get Parmesan for pasta entrees - - and finally had to take the check, with our credit cards, to the maitre de to actually pay. Otherwise it was lovely.

    You use the word "energetic." Not it was not energetic. It was plain LOUD! The last time I was at Margaux it felt quiet and intimate. This time I had to change seats 3 times. I like the restaurant a lot, but the noise makes it questionable the next time I want to meet someone to discuss business.
