Hours for the Lounge extend through midnight on Friday and Saturday.

    Very bad service. Had a reservation for 830 did not get seated until 845. Our waiter did not come to the table until 930 with our waters. Then do not come again for another hour. when it was finally time to order food, the waiter had told us that the kitchen was closing, and we had very limited selection. This was my wife’s birthday dinner with her friends. And it was a very bad experience. Especially since the four ladies that were with us it was their first time. We will not be returning.

    Food is overpriced. The steaks, both the filet and New York were not good. The New York had so much gristle and the filet was way overdone. The Cesar salad had hardly any dressing it was like eating lettuce plain. The meals only come with French fries which I find extremely odd in a fancy restaurant. It was not worth $200 for 2 people.

    Nice birthday dinner celebration with my family. Food was good but felt like it was butter heavy in some cases. The service was top notch. Overall would recommend it as a place to go downtown.

    We went for our anniversary and were greeted with a warm “happy anniversary” and two glasses of complementary Champagne. I was very impressed with the staffs professionalism and courtesy service. I recommend Marguex to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or just a nice night on the town.

    Our server Brandon was phenomenal. Very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. Gave us great recommendations for our starter and a delicious bottle of wine. Will be coming back for sure!

    Sparse, pedestrian, and overpriced breakfast buffet. $35 for a dry egg soufflé, overcooked bacon, and canned OJ. Anyone who has traveled beyond Western Michigan will find the Margaux buffet laughable if not unpalatable. Save your time, money, and taste buds and go to the Starbucks in the lobby. The service, at least, is friendly and relatively efficient.

    Disappointing second visit at Margaux last night. We were bringing guests from out of the country. Though the atmosphere was pleasant, the chairs were not very comfortable and we found the dishes lacking. The four of us got the salmon, lamb, mushroom gnocchis and pasta with wild boar, starting with onion soup and avocado with lobster, finishing with mango sorbet and pecan pie gelato. The hors d’œuvres and desserts were acceptable, though $25 seemed exaggerated for the small lobster avocado. The salmon entrée was startlingly microscopic and appetizer-sized —barely two ounces— and dressed only with a few ringlets of leek. We added an order of truffle fries when we saw how small the salmon dish was, but the fries, barely warm, didn’t come until we were all done with our entrées, and not until we reminded the server of the order twice. The lamb entrée was too salty and the sauce and rub overpowered the lamb; the wild boar pasta was a bit bland and the mushroom gnocchis appeared to be acceptable. Given the price, we expected a lot more, quantity and and taste-wise. Service was ok, but they took away the plates a bit too quickly, sometimes while we were still chewing on our last bite, and took away the butter while I still had bread on my plate. Our experience didn’t live up to expectations.

    Our food took hours to be served. Our reservation was at 7:15pm and they would not seat us until exactly 7:15 even though the table was ready. They also couldn’t (or wouldn’t accommodate) a group of 12 so we sat at two different tables that could have easily been pushed together. We didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 10pm.

    Nice place for brunch buffet, omelets are amazing and the Chef is super nice with the guests, we were celebrating my wife’s birthday, they send her a dessert with a happy birthday written in chocolate, it was a really nice touch! we had a pleasant time there, we’ll be back for sure.

    Pricey restaurant with very good food quality. Overall nice ambiance but great for outdoor dining. Service was slow and kind of not into great customer service mode but for improved half way through when server got changed. Restaurant will pay half parking fee and guests need to use hotel parking.

    Always a great place if you’re in the area and a must if you’re staying at the JW. The bar livens up in the evening, outside seating is excellent and breakfast is a great way to get a lot of everything. Elvis’ French eggs for Prez!!
