Margaritas Cafe - Port Washington
It is a mecca for all types of food. We separate Margarita’s Cafe from the rest of the pack because of our attention to detail.
From the opening of our first restaurant, we worked to create an atmosphere that takes you away from the mundane.
We have spared no expense in acquiring one of a kind decor to surround our customers as they dine.
Every choice of silverware, item on the menu or drinks we create are designed to give our customers the illusion of dining while on vacation.
The only thing missing is the warm summer breezes & ocean waves.
- Surfaces sanitized between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily
- Digital, disposable or sanitized menu provided
- Waitstaff wear masks
- Sick staff prohibited in the workplace
Great food, friendly staff, Enjoyed the Mariachi band.
The food quality seems to be slipping at this location, sorry. Our tortilla chips were stale tasting (I should have said something), my combination platter had a taquito that was so greasy it fell apart. My other two combo items were beef and I was surprised it was not beef slices in the burrito, it was ground beef. My husband's lobster quesadilla was very messy and not in a round, crispy quesadilla like you expect. Flies and gnats buzzing around inside by us were annoying.
Food prepared nicely, service terrific and attentive, they did a great job creating their outside dining area (in rear)
Love the mariachi!
Slow service, food was very salty
Not a huge fan of Mexican but this was really good. Loved the Margaritas by the pitcher.
Chicken Jalisco and fajitas combo were both delicious. The food is always good but they’re understaffed so the service wasn’t very good.
We have been to Margaritas Cafe in Port Jefferson a few times and the food, service, and drinks are always good! I would recommend this restaurant. The staff are very pleasant and attentive.
Tasty food and friendly service
The restaurant is good and we have been before. The food is always good but it seems as if the prices and service could use a little rethink. Prices seem steep for what you are getting. For instance $7 for churros (it is really 1 churro cut in 3 pcs) with 1 scoop of ice cream. Also the service, while friendly, seemed slow and they always seem to get Fajitas orders wrong (multiple people over multiple times at the restaurant)
Loved the ambiance and energy of the place. Mariachis were a bit loud, but we enjoyed the real joyful Mexican feel of the place. We loved our server and service in general was very good. Food was fair. My husbands chicken was overcooked , dry and not a lot of flavor. Vegetable fajitas for me.. vegetables overcooked and not much flavor... not very generous on the corn tortillas which didn't seem fresh. Portion of guacamole appetizer was small.
I would love this place if they would improve their cooking!
I would possibly go back to try some other simpler dishes or just go for sangria/margaritas or other drinks and appetizers.
Okay, overall I love Margaritas Café. But each location is very different when it comes to food, service and ambiance. This was our 2nd time at the Port Washington location, and I maybe or maybe not go back, not sure. Service was very slow, perhaps they were short on help, or it was just our server. Food took forever, and my order was wrong. The food overall was tasty, yet looked thrown on the plate, and the portions skimpy.
We sat outside, on the street, and though this is not the restaurants fault the road is SO NOISY and the people trying to park and practically running over the people who were seated at the curb was very scary and unsettling. So maybe the restaurant shouldn't be seating people so close to the curb, or allow parking right next to tables, not sure what the answer is, but that was distracting and as I said scary.
So yes I recommend Margarita's Café , and if you live in Port, give it a try and see for yourself.
I think the food is pretty good but the noise level inside is very high. I prefer sitting outside so I can hear what my dinner companions are saying. Also they have pretty extensive high end tequila list but there are no prices and the staff does not seem to know much about them.
Frozen guava margarita was great. We enjoyed the tostones rellenos, especially the shrimp-filled one, and the empanadas. The sauce over the empanadas was delicious. The skirt steak strips were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Rice and beans were flavorful but portion size was a bit small. My daughter loved her virgin pina colada but was not crazy about the beef empanada from the kid's menu. She really liked my skirt steak so we shared. Overall we enjoyed the food and drinks and would recommend to friends.
Great service, food and atmosphere. Very clean!
The fajitas were scrumptious and plentiful. The raspberry margaritas were very good, ordered 2 pitchers.
Food was terrible. Drinks ok. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Sorry to leave such a bad review.
The staff was excellent and the food was great! Glad we came here!
Service was super friendly and such a great fun atmosphere! Drinks and food were also amazing. Love coming here!!
Food is amazing. Love the decor and the mariachi band
Good service and excellent food
First time customer.. everything was fantastic..service... food and ambiance.. we will surely be back.
we made a reservation and still waited almost an hour to be seated. then took another 20 to even get a drink order in.
Food was delicious but didn’t get seated until 35 mins past our reservation time.
Great place! We loved the atmosphere! The service and food was fantastic and the margaritas - amazing!
I have been to this restaurant many times and love it. The food is consistently good, and the courtyard ambiance (especially when they have the Mariacci players) is unbeatable. You feel like you are on vacation!
Food and service excellent
Food was really disappointing. It started with a jar tasting salsa, cold tortillas. Margarita, so so and everything else went down hill from there. Service was very good. Too loud fir my taste.
Great atmosphere! Amazing food and drinks and the mariachi two man show was a blast!
Everything was excellent!
Cafe had been a mexican restaurant in an earlier incarnation, and this bears little resemblence. The food and service much greatly improved. The menu and drink list are extensive. Few patrons now due to pandemic, but lots of space between tables for an extra sense of security. Very affordable, tasty, a nice find.
Very good food
Nice space. Liked the mariachis and the margarita. Food was ok
Menu is extensive - plenty to choose from. Great specialty margaritas. Mariachi band comes around and plays request. A lot of fun was had by all. Try the arroz con pollo, chimichangas, empanadas and lamb chops. All. Very tasty.
Always a good meal at Margaritas, nice ambiance, food is tasty, staff is friendly.
Food was excellent and served quickly! Definitely going back to this one or their many other chains throughout Long Island!
Great service, great food, Margaritas were excellent, they didn’t rush you, very consistent, 6th time I’ve been
Food was as expected, not great but in-line with atmosphere. live musicians are a little annoying given that they come around playing and of course looking for tips.
Great place for a birthday
Friendly people with good food and service. Best fun drinks!
