We saw good reviews of this restaurant and decided to take some out-of-town friends there for dinner. (It's close enough to walk there from our home.) The service was wonderful. Our waiter was helpful, professional, pleasant, and topnotch! The restaurant's ambiance is nice. (Must add, the music was a tad bit too loud.) I hate to have to give this feedback, but the food was just OK -- nothing special at all. Each of us had a different dish and none of us commented about how much we liked our food. It was just... well -- I'm sorry to say, just OK. :(

The service was very prompt. The only objection I had is their choice of music. It was rap music and totally did not fit the environment at that time of the day. Sort of disruptive.

Enjoyed our meal...excellent swordfish, tasty pasta. Great bruschetta starter. Enjoyed the limoncello and mule cocktails. Atmosphere was pleasant, not loud. Nice adult night out.

We decided to try this place out during Restaurant Week, and we totally enjoyed our experience. All the food items we tried were nicely done, and our server was very pleasant. We never felt ignored or that we had to wait too long for anything, even though the place was busy. However, I don't think I would personally choose to pay full price for a meal there regularly, but I would recommend it for a special occasion or business function.

Went for restaurant week lunch. Service was excellent and the food was great. Bread and water were served when seated. Calamari and clams were good as starters. Carbonara and chicken parmigiana were also fantastic and serving size was adequate. Added a tiramisu which was really nice.

The Maretalia Ristorante is an outstanding place to dine. Both of our meals were beyond our expectation. The service outstanding.The calamari my wife ordered was tough and it was quickly removed and replaced with outstanding Brussels sprouts.. We will dine there again!!!
The parking under ground is very expensive. $15.00 for 2 hours.

Beautiful setting and Gabriella did an outstanding job as our waitress. Place was spotless. All staff's attitude was on target. Food portions ample +. Runners brought from kitchen--good!!
HOWEVER the food itself was average. Ok. Not bad--just ok.
That said we will return and see if it was an off nite for the kitchen.

Everything on the menu was amazing... we had 4 appetizers including the roasted carrots, meatballs, arancini’s, and crab toast. The oxtail gnocchi was too die for. And the agnolotti with the brown sage butter was amazing. Hats off to the chef and staff at this amazing restaurant.

Our group was welcomed and seated immediately. Our server came to the table quickly to take drink orders. She was very knowledgeable with regard to the wine and beer list, as well as the food menu. She addressed several questions and was very friendly. The food was excellent as always. I have dined at this restaurant several times before and have never been disappointed. It's a must stop every time I am in Coronado.

Went for restaurant week lunch. We had great service from start to finish. The pasta is delicious and presentation was beautiful. We had bruschetta, clams, gnocchi & the Bolognese (savory). We didn’t have a chance to have dessert due to we had to get back to work, but we’ll defini be back to try!

Wonderful! First off let us start with parking. The meters are only 25cents an HOUR! Your lucky to get 12 minutes for that quarter in downtown SD. Then walking into Maretalia you are wow-ed by the decor and cascading water wall. We were here for Restaurant Week. They skimped on nothing! The choices were wonderful. I picked the calamari as my first dish. My husband picked the crab bruschetta. Both were large portions. The calamari was very light and crunchy and served with two sauces. The crab was served on three slices of good size toast. And there was enough crab to cover each slice. Our entree choices were the Spaghetti and Meatball, and the Chicken Parm. The meatball was huge and the sauce-authentic Italian. The Chicken Parm covered two thirds of the plate with a good portion of pasta on the last third of the plate. More than we could eat following the first courses! Our waitress was attentive and knew the menu. The plus here is the craft beers on draft! You have a choice of indoor our outdoor dining here. I would come here again-in a heartbeat!

We tried this place for restaurant week and were very disappointed. The food was not very good at all and we were really surprised at that! We all ordered from the restaurant week menu - three of us getting an appetizer, salad and entree and the other ordering an appetizer, entree and dessert. When our appetizers came, so did our salads! Exactly together! No time to enjoy the first at all. The caesar salad was overwhelmed with garlic - way too much and just ruined the whole flavor of the salad. When our entrees came, the pasta dish was beyond dry - we asked for more sauce and had to wait 15 minutes before getting that. By then, our pasta was cold. Our waiter was no where around and in fact, we had to go find him to get our check 30 minutes later! I know the owners of this place have several restaurants in Coronado so maybe they aren't paying much attention to this one. We can only guess that was the reason for a very disappointing visit! Too many other places to try - this one will be off our list!

Tried this place out for restaurant week and didn't disappoint. The service was very nice. Since we got an appetizer, main entrée and dessert, every thing tasted so good and was so worth it. After the meal, the portion of the dessert was perfect and just the right size. Would definitely recommend this place.

I liked the ambiance, but since we were the first guests to arrive for dinner, I was bummed that the greeter did not ask us where we wanted to sit. I purposely booked at sunset time and would have loved to sit on the side with the beautiful view of the sunset, not on the side facing the street. As it was our anniversary, I also kinda was upset that they did not do anything special, no happy anniversary on our dessert or anything like that. The food was good, only compliant was that one of the dishes was pretty salty. Restaurant week is a pretty good time to try their different options.
