This was our second experience at Marea and we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Without a doubt this was the most spectacular meal my wife and I have ever shared, including a dinner some time ago at the famed Le Dome in Paris. The food at Marea is perfection. We had the recommended 4 course prie fixe offering. Each course could have been a meal unto itself. The fusilli was a highlight for sure but the halibut and sea bass were of equal deliciousness. Everything was exquisite!
Best of all was the service: Elizabeth took care of us and she actually remembered serving us a year ago on our first visit. It was like running in to an old friend. When she learned of our annniversary she arranged for an extra dessert (the red wine pear- don’t pass it up it is awesome) some Italian dessert wine and some yummy treats compliments of the pastry chef. Elizabeth you are the best! And Marea is an absolute must for anyone looking for a very special Italian seafood experience !

The food was good in some ways and not so good in others. CRUDO and STROZZAPRETI was fantastic while the BRODETTO was just ok, the broth which was described as delicate was dark. Note to management- the server stations are loud with lots of plate noise when the drawers are closed, and servers tend to congregate or hang at them which is distracting to the dining experience.

Our favorite spot in Manhattan. Without peer. Two Michelin stars speak for themselves. Our favorite date night haunt. We have delivered almost 700 reviews on OpenTable in the three years using OpenTable. We go out to dinner almost every night of the week. Marea embodies the best while creating a welcoming, familial home away from home.

What can you say about Marea, Michaels White's flagship restaurant? I frequent Marea and his other restaurant, Ai Fiori constantly. Its very hard to find better dining anywhere. The architecture also makes it memorable. Fantastic!

Marea is a exceptionally fine restaurant! The decor is beautiful and the service superb. Our server was very knowledgeable about every dish. And based on our questions, the sommelier steered us to a less expensive wine than we had originally chosen. Pastas are made in house and are light and most flavorful. They are available in 1/2 portions as well as full sized. Our waiter brought us 2 dessert portions even though we claimed we were too full- we devoured them!! This is an expensive restaurant; well worth it.

Amazing lunch! Everything was wonderful from the start. The tuna tartare in course one could only be topped by the lobster and burrata. The octopus was very good as were the scallops. The pasta with bone marrow was done perfectly.
Desserts were great and the gelato was the best we have had.
Great meal at reasonable prices and a good drink menu

The menu is strange. Just about every option has something bad in it that makes one afraid to order it. They should at least offer some “normal” pasta options for those who can’t find a good option on the menu.

As usual this place is so amazingly good. The only thing that was really off was the service. I’m not sure what happened but the waiter we originally met didn’t serve us and we didn’t get any service for about 15-20minutes sitting down after being presented menus. The management saved it a bit but not quite enough to make my already hungry stomach and attitude a bit sour. this place is absolutely my favorite restaurant in manhattan and is usually the best overall experience bar none. But this was sub par for marea. I know this isn’t typical of them. Until next time!

We went with two teen children while visiting NUC and at a late hour for dinner. The food wasn’t spectacular for the price, and the service was underwhelming. We waited 50 minutes between the first and second course, only to then learn that one entree was a half-plate when ordered as a full. They acknowledged this and said I’d get the other half but it would take time.
We left disappointed in the experience.

Peaceful ambience, superb food, and attentive service. What more could one ask for in this gem located on Central Park South near Broadway? True, it is expensive but at least you leave feeling you have had a fine dining experience commensurate with the cost.

My boyfirend and I had a terrible experience at Marea last night. The first course is two small slices of scallop which dipped in some white sauce were too simple and boring .Then we had the a very large portion of Octopus pasta which we could barely finished. The worst part is the last dish of steak and several ugly bread and the steak was so overcooked (we order medium well )that the surface is almost adust. We response to the waiter but his attitude was not good at all. At the end,the manager came by and gave us discount to the meal. Although We didn’t expect that but still thanks to the manager. Overall,we consider this restuarant is not worth Michilin two stars at all, Will definitely suggest friends who willing to visit NYC not to try Marea.

Amazing menu and the food is good but certainly not great. Had the trio of crudo, a mackerel appetizer and a pork filled pasta. For this kind of money, there are plenty of better options. Service was top notch.
