As usual this place is so amazingly good. The only thing that was really off was the service. I’m not sure what happened but the waiter we originally met didn’t serve us and we didn’t get any service for about 15-20minutes sitting down after being presented menus. The management saved it a bit but not quite enough to make my already hungry stomach and attitude a bit sour. this place is absolutely my favorite restaurant in manhattan and is usually the best overall experience bar none. But this was sub par for marea. I know this isn’t typical of them. Until next time!

We went with two teen children while visiting NUC and at a late hour for dinner. The food wasn’t spectacular for the price, and the service was underwhelming. We waited 50 minutes between the first and second course, only to then learn that one entree was a half-plate when ordered as a full. They acknowledged this and said I’d get the other half but it would take time.
We left disappointed in the experience.

Peaceful ambience, superb food, and attentive service. What more could one ask for in this gem located on Central Park South near Broadway? True, it is expensive but at least you leave feeling you have had a fine dining experience commensurate with the cost.

My boyfirend and I had a terrible experience at Marea last night. The first course is two small slices of scallop which dipped in some white sauce were too simple and boring .Then we had the a very large portion of Octopus pasta which we could barely finished. The worst part is the last dish of steak and several ugly bread and the steak was so overcooked (we order medium well )that the surface is almost adust. We response to the waiter but his attitude was not good at all. At the end,the manager came by and gave us discount to the meal. Although We didn’t expect that but still thanks to the manager. Overall,we consider this restuarant is not worth Michilin two stars at all, Will definitely suggest friends who willing to visit NYC not to try Marea.

Amazing menu and the food is good but certainly not great. Had the trio of crudo, a mackerel appetizer and a pork filled pasta. For this kind of money, there are plenty of better options. Service was top notch.

The pasta is incredible. We had 3 pasta dishes and each one more amazing than the previous. We love Marea because the food is always spectacular and the atmosphere is relaxed, not too stuffy.

I am very disappointed with the service and food there. The waiters looked like to chat and ignored their customers. The food was really salty. You need to order more water. I won’t recommend to my friends for it’s not worthy.

The food was great and the lunch experience was one to be remembered. However, it would have been nice if the bread accompaniments were a bit warmer. Overall a great lunch.

No idea why this restaurant has any good reviews on it.
The food is simply not up to any decent standard. It is clear that they do not put nearly enough energy or thought into their seasoning or food preparation as everything is basically supported by 1. a s***load of salt and 2. an uncomfortable amount of fat. Their sauces are basically all the same, way too much salt with a basic fat emulsion base that all taste the same.
The quality of the fish and ingredients in nearly every dish was overpowered and ruined by the amount of salt and oil they put into anything and everything. This is the mark of an unexperienced and lazy chef.

Pasta dish was decent. That's about it. It's the kind of place you won't remember what you ate there after only a week.

I gave a cheap tip for pretty mediocre service and the floor manager came and told me I should have given 20%.
This is the kind of place you should expect.
Would never recommend this place as it is a waste of your time and an even bigger waste of your money. It's the kind of place I would actively tell someone to not go to.
