An anchor of Central Park and New York City icon, Marea attracts those who don't chase luxury, but who live it-by elevating life's moments, indulging their senses, and celebrating every day with the best food, service, and surroundings in the world.
Outstanding food and service. There is no better Italian food in NYC.
Spectacular dinner and service from start to finish. If I have to nitpick, the wine list, while having a nice selection, is priced pretty high.
Each time I dine at Marea, it never disappoints. I always appreciate consistency and Marea delivers.
Five stars. Marea is one of only two spots we have enjoyed on multiple occasions where everything has been perfect. Setting, service, courses all perfect. The ingredients and preparation are intoxicating. Breads are ridiculously fresh, magically and proportionally dense for each type. Marea is one of Manhattan’s treasures. And packed even on a Monday night.
We went for our 45th Anniversary. We enjoyed the experience and thought the food was excellent
Can’t wait to go again. Walked home through Central Park.
Love this place. Unusual but extremely tasty food and beautiful ambience with terrific servers. If you can afford this...GO GO GO
Awesome.the food is to die for, excellent service, the wine list is also excellent
Muy buen lugar, una muy buena comida y un gran servicio. Es un restaurante italiano más que de pescados. El servicio es muy bueno.
Food amazing, great service as always
Food wonderful, service can be a litle better.
My favorite restaurant in NYC, must have meals here every time I visit NY, the food is fresh, taste excellent, presentation beautiful, service impeccable, even though the room is always packed, it is quiet and a pleasant place to dine there every time.
Una gran experiencia!! Muy buena comida!! Excelente servicio y ambiente
Excellent albeit expensive dining.
Service and food were excellent. I enjoyed the halibut and my husband loved his lamb dish.
ALWAS GREAT 🤗
We arrived 1hr in advance and the guy told me briskly that he could not accomodate us at that time... We walked away and came back sharp on time of our original reservation and theybmade us wait for 45 minutes saying they had an big party event and such excuses....
consistently excellent food and service. Marea is always a wonderful dining experience.
Lunch service and food seemed neglectful - I've been to Marea for dinner many times but the first time for lunch. It was like their farm team was working. My salad was a thrown together heap of wet (but water, not dressing) lettuce, some hazelnuts, and cheese shavings. I can get better at any old pizzeria. We sat at the bar and the server didn't know anything about the wines by the glass.
An outstanding meal. Impeccable service. Worth every penny.
I've dined at Marea several times and it's always been consistently excellent. I'm not a local New Yorker so when I'm in NYC I like to try new restaurants. This is one that's worth coming back to.
The seafood is always fresh, the sauces are so flavorful and the wine list is strong. They put a lot of thought in the decor, service, and food.
The food was outstanding and the wait staff was extremely nice. We will come bavk
Food is outstanding but very expensive.
Excelent food. Excelent in every aspect. I recommend it 100%.
Beautiful environment and excellent service. Food is good, not great.
Our dinner at Marea was memorable. Food was divine, innovative and there were delicious surprises in almost every bite. Oysters were the best I’ve ever had - don’t know how you did this, but I’ve had oysters all over the world. Superlative. What I’d really like to point out is the service - we had a very early reservation, with no theatre rush, just early - and never felt rushed. Our servers made us feel welcome and even cherished. I must say that’s particularly rare in a New York restaurant. Sorry, but that’s been my experience in New York over 40+ years of dining here when visiting. Although I must say the last fab meal I had in the city we also had lovely servers.
I reserved Marea for my mother’s birthday and she loved the food!! I don’t eat seafood but there were a decent amount of vegetarian options for me. The desserts, appetizers, were incredible. She and my father loved their seafood. Shout out to Douglas for being such an attentive and thoughtful waiter! I definitely intend on coming for another occasion.
Simply the best meal I have had in a long time. Every dish came out perfectly.
Para ser un restaurante con 2 estrellas Michelin deja muchísimo que desear, mal servicio y la comida sin sabor
The decor is classy and clean. The service exceptional, but not overwhelming or intrusive. The octopus appetizer was superb. The flavor combination in the snapper appetizer, was masterful. Both fish entrees were perfectly prepared and elevated to their highest level with the accompaniments and presentation. Our only criticism is that a dress code of some type would elevate the ambiance. Baseball caps and logo tee shirts on other patrons diminish the dining experience of this wonderful establishment.
This is a place we go to celebrate. It is pricey and so we save it for such occasions. It is part of the chain that includes Ai Fiori, Morini and some others. Food is good. Service is great. Wines are too pricey, unfortunately. But we do have a great time here. So save it for that special occasion.
Diner with my son while visiting New York. My favorite restaurant
Darlene was impeccable with her service and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations. We enjoyed every bite and look forward to our next meal at Marea on our next visit of the city.
Absolutely amazing experience
Wonderful in all aspects.
Had a great experience.
Staffs were fantastic as well as food we had.
Amazing lunch spot. The food and service were incredible. Can’t wait to go back.
Manager sat us at a terrible table (twice) even though restaurant was nearly empty. Then, when water dripped twice on one of our heads and we informed the waiter, no one came to inquire whether everything was ok. Service was inattentive. For a more than $300 lunch for three people, I would expect more.
