Adults ordered fish entrees and kids ordered chicken parm and lasagna...everything was excellent! Wait staff is super friendly and attentive. Love this place!!
It’s a nice and cozy place, BYOB, the host was gracious enough to get us a glass of wine. The servers were great, very attentive. They had an event going, so they were busy but I don’t think I’m going back. Food is overpriced, not enough flavors, undercooked pasta (not al dente) had better. I kept ordering different items and running up my bill trying to find a good plate to no avail. You might like it, try it!
Arrived for an 8:15 reservation for two on Saturday night. The main dining room was totally full, the noise deafening. We were seated immediately where we sat for a long time before anyone approached us. My wife and I were yelling to one another but still couldn't understand each other. Eventually a waiter came by but it was impossible to hear him over the noise. He left and we never saw him again. I noticed several people walking down a hallway and went to investigate. Turns out there's another quieter dining room in the back. Now there about 20min but still no menus.
We asked another for a table there and moved. We asked for menus again and got them this time. The food was good. Not especially great. Dinner for two, no liquor, the restaurant is in Haddonfield $178 without the tip or desert but we did order three appetizers to try.
Won't visit again. Poor service, horrendous noise, OK but not great food at prices we would pay for really great food. Place just doesn't meet muster.
Very good food and flavor. We went to restaurant week and there were a lot of choices.
We made online reservations, but were unaware the restaurant was participating in a local (Haddonfield only) restaurant week offering a limited prix fixe menu. That was disappointing but of course it was no one's fault. Food was very good; service was professional, but they didn't have enough servers to cover the room - resulting in long wait times and a 2 hour overall mealtime. The price was more than fair, at $35 for three courses.
I plan to return to Mare Monte on a regular service evening when they offer a full menu.
Excellent all around.
We loved it! The food here is excellent, and the deserts are to die for! Will definitely be returning.
This restaurant just happened to come up on an ad regarding restaurant week, so we thought we would try it and we were blown away. The food and service were both fantastic, and very well priced! We will definitely be back! Mikail was our waiter and he was the best! Very nice, quick, and helpful when it came to the menu. I would definitely recommend!
Wonderful experience at Mare Monte in Haddonfield. We went for restaurant week, at the recommendation of a member of our party who’d been there the week prior. Selection of dishes was wonderful, atmosphere was nice (we reserved and were seated at a corner window at the front of the restaurant), and music not too loud. Food was top flight. Service was attentive and well-timed. We will be back.
One more time excellent food and service.
Food was ok but not anything to write home about
We had an excellent dinner, we would absolutely recommend and return.
I rarely write reviews but felt I must this time because Mare Monte was so good. From apps to end of the meal every dish was terrific, and not run of the mill. We live on the other side of the river (Philly) and have eaten at most of the "go to" Italian places, and this was better than most of them. Lovely decor and terrific service. And BYO to boot!
Had a triple date here with friends and we all LOVED our meals. Everything was amazing! Very loud, but just meant the whole restaurant was having a great time I guess!
There are so many really great italian eateries in the area. They are really going to have to step it up a notch to compete. Portions are very small/overpriced. Bread basket for 4 people consisted of 4, four inch square pieces of toast, yes, toast. No salad or soup included with entrees. I would think with the Small portion size of entrees that one or the other would be included at those prices. Dessert was not offered when we turned down coffee. Waiter just walked away and then brought check. They missed out on 4 dessert orders. Luckily, there were many dessert options walking down the shops on Kings Hwy. Overall, we were not impressed. It was a one and done for the 4 of us.
Server was very pleasant and informative. There was never a empty dish on the table when u were done the wait staff cleared the dishes off very quickly. Very attentive to your water glass you never had to ask for a refill. Food and dessert was delicious and plentiful. Keep up the great work.
I ordered a starter an octopus salad, it was for $15 but the dish was very small. I don't think it should cost $15.
In summary, we won't go back. The best thing about the visit was the service -- very friendly and professional. They sat our party in the back room by the glass doors on a very cold evening. The quality of the food was inconsistent. For instance, the rollatini and polenta appetizers were tasty but the short ribs were tough and the broccoli rabe was very bitter and tough. The veal dish was good but the sauce was heavy and a bit congealed. The seafood, pasta dish was good, but the meatballs in the traditional spaghetti dish were very bland. The coffee/espresso wasn't good either and the desserts, again, were hit or miss. There are many good, nearby restaurants to waste our time and money here.
I actually posted this already but to just repeat myself it’s my second visit there with my wife and the service, comfortable and a tad special feel along with of excellent value for the level of dining in my opinion make it a go back to regularly place in our lineup
The restaurant is nicely decorated and the music being played was very good and at a perfect level. The staff is friendly but a little unpolished. The food was sub-par and so salty it was barely edible. My fiance had the special with 5 ravioli and three scallops in a pesto sauce. I had the Mare Monte seafood and pasta. The Special was small and the amount of salt in the sauce was ridiculous. Our water glasses were empty a good amount of the visit which did not help. The fettuccine in the Mare Monte was stuck together and hard. The seafood on top was very good. Mare Monte is BYOB but they do offer corking service.
Mare Monte charges quality center city restaurant prices but falls fall short in quality and service.
This was our first time dining at Mare Monte. The food was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. They had a great specials menu with great options.
It was very good.
The food was delicious! Highly recommend the duck. Ask to sit in the back if you can; it’s quieter and there’s more space between tables. Dessert was delicious but small.
My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner on Valentine's Day and were not disappointed. We ordered the bruschetta board, grilled cheese, marinara ravioli, chicken Parm, and one of the nights specials (can't remember what it was). Everything was absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese was essentially a giant square mozzarella stick, and I absolutely could've eaten 50 of them. The ravioli and the pasta were all handmade and were phenomenal. All of the employees were super friendly and I really enjoyed my time here. My only negative comment is about the music that was playing. It's a little weird to hear hip-hop/R&B at a nice Italian restaurant.
The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was fresh and came out quickly. The only part that wasn’t great was how long we waited for a check considering there were only 5 other tables in the restaurant.
I was there a week after I ordered some catering at the super bowl party I held at my place. The food is top notch, exquisite service. The decor is modern. Thank god the music was some Italian music that I never heard in other Italian restaurants before. Keep it up MARE MONTE !
Please tell the chef we said he is outstanding!!! Lorenzo and Kristine
First time we dined here. We ordered entrees from the menu and two appetizer specials. We enjoyed the meal including the ambiance. We will dine here again.
It was not crowded on the night we went, so it was quiet. The food and service were both excellent. Our first visit and we will definitely go there again.
Food was terrific! Service was great. We’ll definitely go back.
Nice atmosphere. food was excellent, always excellent service. Excellent fresh pasta. ❤️It
Great food and great price. Very enjoyable
My friend and I shared the kale salad, the homemade linguine with clams, the veal sorrento, and the blueberry panna cotta. The food was delicious and presented well. We did not leave hungry and the price for two was very reasonable.
Been there twice, and both times very satisfied. Service was good as well. Well done.
It was good as we expected it would be!!!
Very good.Will definitely go back
Food was very good, but it was very noisy. Impossible to enjoy opera playing and difficult to hold an intimate conversation. Too much bustle around me as well. Ambience just wasn't there!
Always excellent food and very friendly staff.
Very cozy atmosphere.
Food was excellent! Couldn’t have had better service! Love Irene! ❤️ Would definitely go back!
Loved it just very noisy.
