The staff here is amazing, the space feels as if you're at a high end hotel (which you are) and being in an interior courtyard just can't be beat!
There were 3 of us. 2 of our party got their dinner and we nearly finished when the 3rd plate arrived. Unacceptable for a Denny's level diner, but for a fine dining restaurant just unheard of.
There were only 2 tables and serve consistently left us having to ask for service. It is overpriced for the service. We were there for a birthday and ended early to go elsewhere after having a pretty hefty bill for only a few snacks and a bottle of wine.
We discovered MARDI as a happy accident. We decided to have brunch last minute and it had good reviews on Yelp so we made a reservation. If you are looking for a place to people watch, I wouldn't recommend going at 11am as we were the only people in the restaurant. However, the courtyard is beautiful and feels very old world Hollywood. The service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. She actually changed our minds and helped us order (the eggs and polenta with mushrooms). The food was incredible and our mimosa glasses were never empty. You could tell that everyone was working as a team. If our server was busy the host would refill our glasses. Would recommend for the atmosphere, service, and food!
I absolutely LOVE this place! My first time even hearing about this place was Saturday! I dined with them on Sunday for an early morning brunch and it was AMAZING!! They have bottomless mimosas for $25/per person. WORTH IT! Guy comes and refill you after every 2 sips lol!! J/k they do refill pretty quickly. Then you have a guy playing the piano and singing live. It’s also amazing. The view!! How could I forget the view!! GORGEOUS!! I wish I could sleep here every day!!
We had a wonderful dinner with long time friends. Our server was very sweet and the food was delicious!! Precious precious place.
Lovely place. Great food. Helpful staff.
I was very impressed with the food, and I am picky !
Will definitely return!
The courtyard is beatifull. It is nice and quite, and it is also very nice for kids.
Great place... food was superb
Just had the worst experience. We arrived and the host wouldn’t check us in, and then told me to to just sit anywhere. Then she came over to ask if we wanted water. She wouldn’t make eye contact. Then she dropped off menus and never came back to take our order. 30 minutes later we just left
Excellent brunch in a cozy, cute setting with a hidden courtyard in the Palihouse hotel. The baked eggs and duck confit sausage were both delicious, and the avocado toast was a great starter on amazing bread. I appreciate the attention to detail, especially with the homemade butter and jam that comes with the bread. Prices are quite high for brunch, but other than that it was a wonderful experience. I would return and recommend.
The chef is very inflexible. The vegan/vegetarian options are not good. I am no chef but can make a better salad at home using the same supermarket bag of mixed greens and don’t have to pay for it 3 times more for the action of adding dressing to it.
Beautiful patio area and decor. You can have a conversation with your friends. Food is good. The loud music starts later in the night when the bar area turns into an intimate nightclub .
Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, delicious food
The oxtail tortellini was incredible! Beautiful and comfortable atmosphere, excellent service. All the dishes we had were fantastic!
Lovely outdoor seating ...quiet/intimate ambiance...attentive, friendly service provided by Veronica...food was good and plentiful for brunch...
For the high prices, Mardi puts on a facade. My Reservation was for 12:15 and we were sat at 1:10. Not a good way to kick off a fun brunch. Took about 20 mins to get our mimosas and they forgot a drink. My party was 4 people... get it together, yo! Incorrectly served us avocado toast instead of our ordered ricotta toast. Charged us for 3 extra mimosas. The entire staff's eyes are just glazed over. I'm shocked I had to pay for torture. This place will test your patience even if you're not easily frustrated.
Adorable atmosphere with live music! Such a pleasant surprise. Cute decor and phenomenal service when we went for Sunday brunch. Not too busy.
This place continues to struggle even after its reboot. Service was very slow even though they weren't busy. Some mains did not include a side dish and the service did not point it out for our consideration when we ordering. Their outdoor seating options leaves something to be desired (our table was HUGE for 4 people). The food was tasty and satisfying with the exception of the issues mentioned above.
Loved the place. The menu was great for brunch. Was difficult to make a decision. So many great options. The food was great. Service was great. Bottomless mimosas.
Very pleasant atmosphere, restaurant is located in an open-roof yard of a hotel. Friendly service, quite original fulfilling dishes, a little pricey.
Fantastic hidden gem. Cool & chic outdoor (but protected setting. Super interesting menu and warm and professional staff. Loved it & will be back there again asap
The last time that I dined at Pallihouse Weho, it was a French cuisine. Mardi is a wonderful best kept secret. I love that it is not the one month wait list type of restaurant. Mardi offers so much more than those annoying wanna-be competitors. The atsmosphere is romantic. You can close your eyes and re-open to find yourself dining in an court-yard eatery somewhere in a Europe. The furniture
and ambience is fitting to a English-French theme. The wait and back wait staff is on point, from the refilling of water to the changing of plates and silverware between dishes. Now, The food.... One word..AMAZING! Everything that my guess and I ordered was delicious. Presentation got an "A" The flavor"A" also portion size "A". Between the two of us, there was enough food to share on each dish. So many good points left no room for bad points. I will definitely return.
Poor service. Did not cater at all to my friends and I. Food was mediocre at best. Would not recommend
Food was really good! Not too pricey. Loved the live music on Saturday and Sunday during the day.
Cute courtyard dining with tasty food. Came for an early Sunday Brunch and had much of the dining room to ourselves. Perfect place to catch up with a friend without the usual brunch craziness.
Mardi was a nice moderately sized restaurant that had a light crowd, which is perfect if you're trying to have a quiet meal with friends or significant others. Was not terribly priced for the good quality of food you were getting. Overall great experience.
The wild boar ribs were, as a friend put it, "like a pig and a fried chicken got down."
We went on a Friday about 12pm and there were about 7 people at the time. Service was SLOWWWWW. We did not receive our sodas for about 15 minutes. The portions were incredibly small and the bill came to $50 for two platters and one soda. I say one soda because the waitress split one can of Diet Coke for the two of a us with a "promise" to bring back the second can, which never arrived. The waitress came by a total of one time in the 45 minutes were there. We were on a vacation in LA for 10 days and ate out over twenty times and this was the only meal that was bad.
Oh, and let me add that when we arrived the front door was locked and the valet person had to open the door for us. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Cute little brunch time hide-away, ambience is old world and calming. You quickly forget about the bustle of the street. Quality food and good coffee. We sat for a long time chatting after dinning and were never disturbed with constant requests for more food and drink.
Highly recommended for a chilled out weekend brunch.
Overall the food is pretty interesting and good. The space is odd. It has a lot of potential but seems to have been decorated by an amateur. The decor is a hodgepodge of thrift store finds that just don't come together. Nor does the decor make the hipster, eclectic vibe it is going for. The service is ok. Everyone is friendly, but everything is slow and not very polished. All of these things would be fine-- they aren't bad in and of themselves.
What earns this an overall 3 from me is how ridiculously overpriced the place is. If Mardi is going to charge like a 5 star, fine dining restaurant charges, they have to get a designer in there and improve the service. The staff are super friendly mind you. But I would recommend that this place cut its prices in half and make up for it with all the new business they will get... and all the booze they will sell.
The place is huge and in a great location. It could be something really special.
Wow what a huge let down! food fair to bad and overpriced, restaurant empty and I mean no but our table, staff nice but slow, even the bar staff, no idea how this place stays in business other than my bill should keep them going for the next week, yep expensive and not worth the price tag at all.
Food menu not great, but location and staff are fabulous.
Nice outdoor sitting , I like it looks like in house garden but the food is fine not wow
Had a great Mother's Day Brunch!
The restaurant is beautiful, very French-chic. Great service and delicious food! Lovely ambiance.
Loved this restaurant!! Will come back again and again.
Very poor menu for the price you're paying, they should say please don't bring kids as we don't have any food for them, live music was horrible.
The food was amazing. We had the mushroom and the fish main courses, both quite tasty, as were our martinis. The waitress was wonderful, accommodating and friendly. The ambience is okay: outdoor, with accommodating heaters, but no indoor dining, except for the bar.
Excellent food! I was entertaining family from out of town, and we all had a great time. This was my first time to the restaurant, and it will not be my last.
Met up with a group of girlfriends here recently. We were initially drawn to this place by photos of the patio! This place has such a cozy, clean atmosphere, and we loved sitting outside amongst the greenery. The food options were okay, everyone was able to find something suitable, but nothing on the menu really wowed us, and it's fairly pricey for brunch. I would go back though, as overall the experience was really pleasant.
