Amazing; have been there 5 times already and will keep coming back.
Marcus was an entertaining experience. We sat at the kitchen counter and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the Seafood tower, as a main dish we ordered the Signature Tomahawk steak and we were surprised with a tarte des fraise as dessert. The service was perfect, the team did an outstanding job and the food was delicious. Overall amazing experience. I would recommend anyone living in Montreal or visiting to check out Marcus at the Four Seasons hotel. The ambiance is hip and lively.
First let me say that I’ve been to Marcus before for drinks and love the bar, decor and ambiance.
I’m very disappointed however, in the dinner that I had to wait months to try.
My friend ordered a shrimp appetizer which was pitiful. One shrimp sliced in half, barley enough for a mouthful with salty ketchupy sauce for $30. It was awful and when we told the waitress she brought French fries complements of the chef. French Fries for $30 shrimps?? Besides the fact that we had already ordered an order of fries to fill us up. The red endive salad, which arrived after they first delivered the wrong salad, had 2 pieces of white endive with a pile of shredded carrot and something else which I cannot identify and 2 chunks of watermelon. I ate it only because it was almost 10 and we were starving. It was not impressive.
We both ordered the pasta with crab which was passable but hard to find much crab and very small portion. We stuffed on bread and French fries.
The server ended up removing the shrimp from the bill.
Needless to say, we opted out of dessert and went somewhere else where we know has a scrumptious dessert. Don’t waste calories and money on mediocre lol!
I would return for a drink but never again for dinner. Not worth the hype in my opinion. Maybe the seafood tower and Tartare are good but certainly not what we ordered.
Excellent French fries tho lol. Cheaper at Lafleur lol
Beautiful restaurant, great waiter and excellent food
The service was not on par with the food, except for Fred who is phenomenal. During two out of the four meals we had here in the past week, he was dearly missed. Service was unprofessional and staff need training and to lose their French arrogance. It's disappointing to see the Four Seasons mainly hiring staff with a Parisian accent, maybe thinking they sound better; they do not and they made us uncomfortable.

I brought my aunt celebrating her 88th birthday. When I made the reservation I told them it was for a special celebration and asked if can we arrange a candle with desert. When I checked in I mentioned it to the waitress and then again to the hostess who came by at the beginning of dinner.
All three said no problem sir.
They did come by and told us at 8:10 that they needed to turn the table for 9pm and that we needed to watch our time. What?? On a Wednesday night. No one said anything when I booked. When I said no way they apologized and made "other arrangements."
The desert showed up and guess what - NO Candle or any mention from the staff acknowledging her birthday. Nice. Very Classy.
And the restaurant was HALF EMPTY at 9:00pm.
The food is good as what you would expect in any Four Seasons hotel around the world.
There are so many great restaurants in this city that there is no reason to be treated like that.
Second time at Marcus and I just love it!!! Excellent food, beautiful decor and outstanding service. Big thank you to Nicole to make us feel so welcome :)

Nous avons fort apprécié notre souper. Tout était adéquat. Quelqu’un qui ne mange pas de fruit de mer ou de poisson est un peu déçu, de notre côté, il est certain que nous allons y retourner rapidement.

The service and cocktails were good, that’s why it gets 3 stars. This was a complete let down. The food was a disappointment. Definitely not up to Four Seasons standards. We will not be coming back for a very long time, much improvement is needed in terms of flavours, presentation and overall culinary experience. I’m certain with time it will get better.

The menu for lunch increased by 20% since opening - quite steep increase but the food is great.
A great dining experience - food, service, drinks, and restaurant itself. The duck was really excellent, and loved the seafood tower display. Had some cool Portuguese wines selected by the sommelier. Will return.
Great restaurant and the service is amazing! The portions are on the smaller side but in a good way! I did find it ridiculous to charge 2$ when we asked for extra rice crackers for the tartare :|
I love marcus - but this weekend we were near the hotel and I saw on open table there were availabilities for brunch at 10am so we just walked in!
I went to see the hostess (julianne) and she said « we are fully booked » no explanation and very rude! So I said well on open table it says that...and she cut me and said no we are booked.
It was very rude and i was truly surprised of this attitude and bad service. So I made a reservation on open table right then and there! She came back with her manager and I explained I didn’t understand the situation and that we had a reservation now!
The hostess said « well you just made it didnt you! » with so much attitude...
The manager gave us a table at the chefs counter and there were tables everywhere, she then explained they had a a big group coming (starting in an hour).. if the hostess would’ve just explained this nicely from the beginning we would’ve understand..
Anyway all to say, we were very disappointed to be greeted in such a bad way! We love eating out, it’s an experience and good time for us! But when someone greets you in such a way.. you tend to never go back unfortunately...
Took 40 min to get our check & pay bill.$30.00 one shrimp app was undercooked. Noise level from adjacent bar band was very loud.Didnt have bottled water,said theirs was filtered both flat & sparkling. Asked server menu questions & she didn't know, she had to ask others .
I came here for dinner after previously having brunch, but brunch isn’t a good way to judge a full service restaurant. The food and ambiance was A+, the wine selection was good without being overwhelming (if not a touch overpriced) and the dessert menu was enticing.
My only real complaint was paying cocktail prices for a small shot of grappa after the meal, I was expecting at least a few dollars off for the lack of work that went into making it.
Overall this is a great spot right up there with the the best in the city.

I am undecided if I would recommend to a friend as I find the food overpriced for what you get. The ambiance and the whole look of restaurant was great but other than that I was not "wow, I have to come back here".
Excellent service, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful decor and most importantly superb food. Excellent selection of wines with moderate markups. Good location in downtown Montreal in the new Four seasons hotel.
I would absolutely recommend to friends and family. I found the tomato salad excellent. Probably the best I have had in Montreal.

The food and service were very consistent with Four Seasons' great reputation, but even at the expected high-end niche, the portions and value of some of the dishes were puzzling. A single grilled shrimp appetizer was $30; a single scallop -- the diameter of a quarter, sliced into six paper thin slivers -- was $22. The decor is lovely but, strangely, some dinner tables are extremely small, round, bar-style tables (two placed side-by-side for three persons, with no space for food plates in the non-existent middle). The restaurant is, nonetheless, a fun space with a buzz.
Some meals were better than others. Some of our guests found their food over cooked. Mine was just right. Probably needs a little more time to perfect the details. Would still enjoy going back.
Nice ambiance cool music and delicious food. Our waiter Germano gave us excellent service. We will definitely return to this beautiful restaurant.
Yes I would! The food was outstanding and the design and atmosphere is gorgeous. One think that took away from my experience though was terrible service. Our waiter was rude and passive. I believe that this bad service was due to the fact that my party was made up of young adults. If this is the reason why we were treated so poorly that’s unacceptable. Young or old, every customer should be treated equally and with respect.
