   I hear great reviews from the establishment so i was excited to finally visit. My family and I arrived around 5:20, our reservation was at 6 so they accommodated us so that was a plus. The waitress was nice and informative about the menu. I ordered greens, macaroni and cheese, honey cornbread and rice & beans(I am a vegetarian). The greens were my least favorite, I can't explain the taste but they were sour. The bread was ok, the macaroni was good! The rice and beans were lack luster at best. My son and daughter had the wings and fries, they said they were good but they both brought leftovers. My oldest had the jerk chicken he said it was really good. My daughter in law had the fish and rice she said he was decent. For 5 of us they automatically add a gratuity of $43.00, I have no desire to revist.

   Ordered lamb chops, the. Was told there wasn’t anymore… got the brisket with potatoes. My potatoes weren’t cooked all the way. I informed a manager. They removed 6$, I stopped eating them once I realized they weren’t cooked all the way, how ever upon leaving I had stomach ache all night. I try to support black owned businesses but they completely missed this one.

   Food and service were great! My “Ole Unc” drink was perfection. My salmon cooked perfectly and the fried crab rice was a pleasant new experience. The ambience was great. I felt like I was at a family gathering. No complaints at all. I can’t wait to go back with friends!

   All the meats that hit the table were delicious. Brisket was stellar with au jus. Fried chicken wings were simple without sauce and reminded me of some of my own mother’s best fried foods. They were delicious cold the next morning. Skate ribs weren’t falling off the bone but were perfectly tender clinging to the bone with a zingy rub. Pretty loud. Server forgot to place or order and then came back a while later and asked about it and said he was just making sure he got it right (shoulda just said it wasn’t placed).

   Although the hostess greeted us warmly and seated us promptly, it was disappointing that our server took quite a while to acknowledge us, especially considering the restaurant was not busy, and several servers appeared unoccupied. That said, once our server arrived, she was extremely professional, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal, which we genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the buffet fell short of expectations. Food replenishment was slow, several dishes lacked proper handles or wouldn’t close properly, and the area was not well-maintained. The salad, fruit, and dessert were all combined into one station and were, unfortunately, quite disappointing. Overall, the quality didn’t justify the price. To her credit, our server asked for feedback, and I shared these concerns. She was very understanding and explained that the Executive Chef was not in that day, and that things typically run more smoothly when they are present. While the buffet was a letdown, the staff’s professionalism and hospitality were a bright spot. I don’t plan to return for the buffet, but I’m open to giving the regular dinner service a try in hopes of a better experience.

   Our family enjoyed Easter brunch at Marcus B&G. We were seated on time and the buffet food, although a little expensive, was very good and extensive. Some of the food items ran out quickly after being served but eventually were replaced. I thought the music was energetic but very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation at our table and we were not next to the DJ. Overall we did enjoy ourselves and will return.

    Sunday brunch is definitely a must do at Marcus B&G! The DJ was excellent, a little loud, but a still vibe. I have to come back when it’s not a holiday. Too many crying babies. Food excellent, lots of choices, and always hot!
