Second Time is a Charm! A friend and I had dinner al fresco on Friday. We ordered the burrata, meatball, lasagna and ravioli. I loved everything except the ravioli, which I found to be too salty. Otherwise the meal was amazing and the portions were huge. Our server, Luis, was great and all of the staff were attentive. Love the outdoor heaters and being able to eat outside in mid-October. I will be back!
First time visit and it won’t be our last. Great menu, food and service. Being from Ohio visiting Denver we will make a point of visiting the Columbus locations. Well done.
Had a dinner with friends here and we loved everything we ordered. Awesome service as well. Just the right balance of a little more upscale but still fairly casual.
This IS the spot for a great Happy Hour. Great cocktail and Italian food choices.
Meatballs our favorite!
Great classic Italian food, which is not always easy to find in Denver. Very reasonably priced and the service is great. Great for groups.
Good time and atmosphere.
I saw Chef Phil on The Everyday Show for National Noodle Day. I chose Marcella's LoHi for my birthday dinner. When we arrived Hannah greeted us and let us pick our table with a view. She visited with us and was very polite. Elliott was our server. He was so much fun, had us laughing and really knew the menu and the wines. The food was amazing! Hannah brought me a delicious desert with a candle. Chef Phil then came out and introduced himself, said Happy Birthday and presented me with another amazing desert. We were very impressed with the service and left feeling like part of a family. We have recommended Marcella's and will definitely become regulars. By far, our experience well exceeded our dining pleasure as has not been for a very long time. Although we live in SE Aurora, this is the only restaurant we have found that is definitely worth the drive.
Loved the ambiance of this restaurant! Excellent happy hour that goes until 6:30 PMZ
Great place to celebrate a birthday! Our server was prifesdiinal abd friendly! Food was delicious
The location is great, the ambience is really nice, and the service was very good. The food was just ok - I had the chicken Marcela, and it was just so-so. I will go back to try other options. Good cosmos!
Our party of two had a reservation and were seated immediately. However, we didn't have a waitress address our table for 10 minutes. When she did arrive we were not greeted in a friendly manner and the service continued to be 'lackluster'. Just our bad luck while celebrating an anniversary dinner.... she was having a bad day apparently. Other wait staff were attentive taking care of their tables/patrons in a fashion we would have expected here after the reviews we had read. We won't make any recommendations, sorry. :(
We were surprised to find that they had a happy hour with quite an extensive menu. The giant meatball was great and enough for four to share. Two of us had the Veal Limone special which was excellent.
Will definitely go back for happy hour and for dinner.
Lasagna was good but was not really hot. Chicken Parmigian was so so
Overall found the food overpriced for quality. We felt rushed despite clearly being at the table for a special occasion.
Marcella's is one of our favorites, but at this visit we sat on the patio and beside us was a table of 4 and a small white dog(no indication of service dog). I love animals but I don't believe I should have to enjoy a dinner out with friends and have to look at a dog being fed bread and being petted and having him stare at me and being distracted. Again, I love this restaurant, I will go back but I do think people who do this are very inconsiderate to others.
I first ate at Marcella's in Ohio. The Denver location didn't compare. My lasagna tasted old and unevenly cooked. The chocolate almond cake was heavy on the almond compared to that which I ate in Ohio. My friend's chicken parmesan was also dry and old tasting. She got a new dish that was tasty. The cheesecake was good. There was surprisingly a baby in there shrieking nonstop. Very uncomfortably. I don't think it's go back to the Denver location.
I guess I’m not sure why I thought it would be a typical Italian restaurant when in a very popular area of the Highlands, but when I first got there I was a little disappointed (just was a lot louder/modern than I had anticipated.) However, we ended up absolutely loving it - the food, the wine, the staff. Everything was excellent. We would highly recommend and hope to be back soon.
We had such a wonderful time celebrating our friends wedding anniversary together. Sunday’s are half-price wine bottles - what a great deal! The food was excellent. Everyone in our party said their meal was delicious. The canoli’s were also so great. Bread was served before the meal.
We sat outside. There are lights strung outside and there are great views of the city. Will def return.
Awesome happy hour deals! Delicious sangria. Highly recommended!
Too noisy, service was average. Food was amazing in both presentation and taste.
The service is outstanding. The food is good with a good selection of options.
Food was delicious and authentic. Service was attentive and we would definitely return!
Third time we have been to this restaurant. And we are absolutely in love with the food. Quality presentation is beautiful fantastic atmosphere.
Birthday. Great. Free dessert.
Abundant Italian dishes for everyone, great wine list, nice ambiance and attentive wait staff - we will be back and will certainly recommend!!!
The only negative was there were small children running around with bare feet. That is obviously a parent that needs to control their child but also disgusting in a restaurant.
The food the service the ambiance is amazing.
Delicious food/beverages and great staff. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Manager was wonderful
It started with how helpful Dane was when I called to cancel (concerns of traffic on I25 at the same time) and then called right back to have him reserve a table again and then called a third time to confirm that yes we were coming - 3 phone calls from the same patron would probably annoy most maitre-d's, but not only was he cordial all 3 times, on the 3rd call he offered much advice of route to take to avoid traffic and places to park!
Loved our waitress Marcella (not *the* Marcella)!
And being both pescetarian and gluten free I generally have to settle food-wise. I couldn't have been more pleased with my veggie pizza!
Will definitely be back!
Was fantastic! The food was incrediable. We highly recommend the truffle eggs and red sangria
Loved our dinner here - 2nd time in this great neighborhood spot. Italian with lots of gluten free options - great service and love the inside or outside options.
Ambiance of the restaurant is very nice for casual to dressy casual. Drinks from the bar were excellent. Food was good but I wouldn’t call it great. We sat in a booth next to where all the food was coming out of the kitchen. The waitstaff as a whole appeared flustered and disorganized. One waitress kept cussing out somone in the back every time she came around the corner. Something was obviously going on behind the scenes.
Overall it was a nice night once we learned to tune out the disgruntled staff members. Our waitress was only there for two days yet did a fine job and it was only her second night on the job.
So I’d say the positives are the ambiance and well made drinks and the negatives are unhappy waitstaff and mediocre food.
Marcellas Lo-hi is a great place to visit for so many occasions and is definitely worth a drive. My wife and I started going every Friday night about 5-6 months ago and we tell everyone to come try them out! They just brought back Sunday brunch so we're likely to make that a regular on our weekly list too!
The patio was gorgeous, the food was incredible and the service was outstanding!
The meatballs were so tender and delicious. Some of the other food was just okay, nothing I would go out of my way for. Dessert was good. Coffee with dessert was okay but they were very messy in making it and also wasnt a large quantity at all of coffee. Service was not great. We had empty glasses on everything but water multiple times and our waiter was slow to check on us and take our orders. Overall decent experience but I wouldnt go out of my way and wait a long time to eat here.
What a wonderful restaurant. Suzie, our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and on point. Pecorino cheese is a must! Veal meatball melts in the mouth! Excellent cocktails, charcuterie board options, and pastas. Great happy hour prices. Osso bucco is delicious. Ambiance, location, staff, food, drinks, this place has it all!
Food was excellent but it took a very long time to get our dinner!
We have driven past this restaurant and it always looked very nice and seemed to have a great menu with good prices. However, going inside the ambience is not great as there are TV’s, pop music playing, and a bunch of kids running around. The food was very sub-par. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant and I won’t be going back.
Went to celebrate some birthdays with 8 of our friends. The food was good, the service left something to be desired, she never greeted our table, our rounds of drinks took a while to come to the table (especially the first one), and she didn't thank us or anything after the meal. But the food was really delicious and we had a great time.
Great atmosphere, very traditional Italian interior, great food and drinks and great service. Dane was very helpful the entire time as well
