We came to Marcella’s to celebrate my 38th birthday and it was great. The food is very good including the big meatball. Service was a little slow but overall a great place to celebrate my birthday. I plan on coming back for the fantastic happy hour.
Great customer service, excellent food! I got the goat cheese Ravioli. The goat cheese was a little too intense for my taste, but I would still highly recommend this place!
Marcella's was an excellent venue for our celebrating birthdays. Everyone in our party of eight was impressed with the excellence of the food, service, and overall ambiance. Needless to say, we plan on coming back. If you haven't tried Marcella's, do yourself a favor and plan your next outing there.
Absolutely delicious and such a lovely atmosphere!
Marcella's continues to improve. Thanks Hannah for making our evening, yet again, something special. The food was superb. A minor glitch fixed instantly. The table side wine bucket kept cold and flowing. And the view....wow!
I celebrated my birthday with 11 of my best guys.
Outstanding veal meatball and great margarita pizza. Service is always spot on.
Decent Italian food. The authentic atmosphere got my hopes up for an authentic dish (I’m 100% Italian). Comparable to Maggianos.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Marcella’s. It was our first time there and we were all favorably impressed. The food was authentic Italian, with excellent pasta dishes and a sweet Italian sausage side that was outstanding. The wine choices were good and reasonably priced.
Overall, this is a great place to enjoy good food in the HiLo area.
The location of Marcella's is fantastic with a great view of Denver from LoHi. Food was excellent as well. The one thing that could be changed was the service from our waiter as it was not good.
We have made Marcella’s a go to when it comes to
Special occasion dinners! We celebrated Father’s Day this time! The food was wonderful, as always, although the service was a bit slower than our usual incredible service..hoping that was just a fluke! We will be back!
Birthday dinner celebration! Outstanding food and drinks, great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
As always, it was delicious and fun
This was my first time dining at Marcella’s and I’d definitely return.
Food was good, service and cocktails were great!
Food lacked broad flavor profile. I got pork osso and I could’ve made vegetables taste better in a crock pot.
Great atmosphere and service. Food is not tasty and bland. Sauce reminds me of spaghettios, sweet and boring and ready for 2-6 year old children. House Salad looks good on plate but very bland and lacking any dressing.
I see why this restaurant may be very popular with hip healthy people that enjoy creative bland food and prefer to put calories towards booze. Not what I was seeking.
Our dinner at Marcella's was just perfect. From the moment we walked in, until we left, we couldn't have had a better experience. Macy, our wait staff member, was adorable, well versed in the menu, kind and a total blast. Jordan, who so wonderfully greeted us, couldn't have been more welcoming.
We will definitely return to Marcella's! Great location, food and staff.
The fettuccine and meatball is fantastic.
Best happy hour ever! Best service ever! Best food ever!
Everything was great. Our server didn’t even hesitate when we asked to do split checks for 11.
The entire meal was delicious and our server, Diana, was attentive and courteous. The manager, Dain Cook, went above and beyond to make us feel like his special guests. We will definitely return as well as highly recommend Marcellas to all our friends. Kathie Bahl
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was very good. I would recommend the meatball. It is huge and excellent. The service was outstanding. Laurel was our server and she was very knowledgeable and provided great service. The manager was very friendly and it was easy to see he was very engaged in the business. On top of the good food and service was the view of the city. You don’t get this at the downtown restaurants. It was a easy walk from the Lodo area.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Denver and we come from the far North. Food, servers, ambience, are all top drawer. Happy Hour, spectacular. HALF the menu is half price. Love this place!
Restaurant staff is always so accommodating. They had a great table along the front wall - only downside was that all the windows were open - so we felt like we were sitting with the table outside on the patio that we backed to. Couldn't close the window because of the lack of clear eve.
Server was amazing. She kept the bread coming all night long. Caesar salad was small - but very good. Bruschetta was lacking. Interesting experiment and pretty to look at - but it was too thick, lacking tomatoes and only saved by the addition of balsamic.
Chef was very accommodating and sent out a meatball "to taste" for the preteen. Entire table agreed it was yummy!
The pan seared salmon was overlooked to the point that the ends were dried out and not edible. Capellini Pommodoro and Linguini with clams were both outstanding.
The wine is is sufficient. Only a handful of beers on tap and a few in bottles and cans. First two choices were out of stock; Left Hand Mill Stout was a good choice. Desserts were fresh and delicious. Profiteroles and cannoli were crisp and well-filled and tasty.
Overall a delightful evening. We will be back.
I would put Marcella's in the good not great category. This is a busy, energetic restaurant located in LoHi with a nice view of downtown Denver. The room is comfortable with a very large bar area. The food is slightly above average which was a bit disappointing considering the reviews on Open Table. Four of us had appetizers. The calamari was ok but the dish was mostly made up of fried zucchini. The arancini (fried orange flavored risotto balls) was heavy and somewhat tasteless. The sausage and peppers dish was good as was the caponata. The piccata chicken entre was good and the dish was big enough for two to share. However, the spaghetti and meatball was just adequate. The pasta was good but the giant meatball was short on meat and long on filler. The sauce was heavy and there was too much of it. Wines are medium in price but they are served in small drinking glasses which may be a quaint touch but it doesn't allow for a pleasant drinking experience. Our desserts were Tiramisu (which was good) and cannoli (which had more of a marscapone filling than a traditional ricotta filling). Service was adequate. We probably won't return.
We had a very large party and were late due to a late graduation ceremony. The manager was more than helpful and held our table. We did not feel like we were and inconvinience even though we changed reservation, changed numbers and came late. What a great spot with nice views
What do you look for in a restaurant; namely, good food, good service, and reasonable prices. So, head to Marcellas. You will find all three and then some. Our food was delicious and our waiter, Grant, was attentive and very personable. Treat yourself to a wonderful night out. Marcellas can't be beat.
John Mark was an amazing server. He answered every question we had and made great (not pushy) recommendations.
They were out of some things we wanted to try so the food was just ok, but the atmosphere was good and again our server made the night enjoyable.
Will the back and try different things.
Good food, exceptional service. Excellent value. Looking forward to returning to try other items. We had the spaghetti and meat ball which was very good.
Loved this place!! Amazing food and service. Went here with a big group for a birthday dinner and it was a great experience
Great food, Happy Hour a great value. The Salmon was perfect, beet salad over the top. Nice views of city skyline with lots of windows. Will make this a regular place to dine out.
There were 8 of us for Mother’s Day dinner. The food and service were excellent! Love this place!
Such a great restaurant
I set a reservation for mothers Day and when I got their they said they couldn't find my name, then they found it and said it was for 2 people. I modified my reservation to 3 after I saw it was for 2. On line. Long story short I was put in the bar area, none of us our alcohol drinkers. We weren't asked if we wanted to sit anywhere else. Kinda blew my Mother's Day surprise. I guess that's a restaurant problem with your staff. Food and service were good though.
4th visit, worth revisiting, friendly service, good value...menu could have a few more options for "clean" eaters, pescatarian, veg
The food was delicious. There was a bit of delay/confusion in receiving entrees but the staff more than made up for it. Will definitely dine at Marcella's again.
went here for mothers day brunch. they don't usually do brunch, but are apparently going to start this summer. it was excellent! and during brunch, they still offer the whole rest of their menu for lunch/dinner. it was great food! great ambiance, great view of downtown. and we didn't sit outside because it was too cold, but they patio outside is so charming. we definitely will be back. I'm still dreaming about their tomato basil soup.
The food was tasty but the menu wasn't particularly exciting.
The food was fantastic, the service did not meet our expectations her server it appeared had too many tables. I do not feel they had enough staff on to handle the amount of people that had come in for dinner. And that just hurt service
