Marcel is Sarasota's newest and most popular dinner spot. It is an elevated European Bistro that specializes in unique dishes with a French influence. Our menu and portions are designed for guests to try a variety of items, and sharing is encouraged. Our standout dishes are the snapper ceviche, the Cacio e Pepe, Mortadella toast, sweetbread gratin and the Beef Bourgignon, which you must try!

Nicely done and centrally located restaurant in the heart of Sarasota's downtown. The food was very good and the server was both professional and personable. Thank you Chris, for making our experience even more special.

We went for Savor Sarasota - and we'll be going back again! The chef/owner checked on us several times - and was as busy helping out all night. Everything was top notch. Cauliflower tempura - fabulous; cucumber gazpacho with crab was amazing and the special soup of the day - Lobster bisque was GREAT! My husband got the scallop dish - presentation and flavor was top notch. My friend had the red snapper - and almost licked her plate clean (it's the first time I've ever seen her finish a meal) and I had the rabbit/gnocchi special - again, so delicious. Very nice selection of cocktails and wines. I'm not sure what took us so long to visit Marcel - but we'll be back.

Went as part of the savor Sarasota campaign and we were surprised we hadn't heard of it before now. Only opened two years ago. We were very impressed with the menu variety and the French cooking. Everything was cooked to perfection and we will certainly make it a mainstay of our dining out.

Our first time there, prompted by the Savor Sarasota menu. Very comfortable atmosphere. Chris, our waiter, was personable and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the octopus appetizer, and my wife had the roasted roots. Both were a delight. I had the snapper and she beef Bourgoin. Both were excellent. The wine list was limited, but adequate. She had the chocolate desert and I the lemon. Both good. I am looking forward to going back, as I could have ordered almost everything on the menu and enjoyed it. We decided to add this to our top five list or our most enjoyed restaurants.

At first, I tried to call the restaurant to cancel my reservation because I had a really major problem with my back and couldn’t get out somewhere then I was told that I would be charged my $20 per person service charge so we ended up going. I wasn’t really happy about the idea of being charged for something. The food was really great nice portion sizes I think. They were kind enough to bring me out another chair for my comfort level I will probably try the restaurant again with some friends.

It is Savor Sarasota, this year it is 20 days in early June where diners can get a 3 course meal in some of the best restaurants in Sarasota at a special price. Last evening we sampled Marcel and it was very good. The space is inviting and the menu has much to choose from. The food was really good with a lot of flavor. My wife had the 4 scallops and I had the sweetbreads as our main courses which are recommended. The server was extremely helpful and friendly and the experience was very good. We will return.
