Friday & Saturday DINNER: 5:00PM-11:00PM
Friday & Saturday LATE NIGHT: 11:00PM-2:00AM
Yes - it's expensive. Arguably the most expensive steak house in Atlanta. That being said, the food is consistently good and the service is ALWAYS top notch. The wait staff is always attentive, friendly and almost all of them are actually FUN. That being said - the gentleman who greeted us at the door and took us to our table was a bit... much; the crazy outfit (not consistent with the restaurant's branding) and the over-the-top hair style were off putting to say the least. So was his attitude. Chill dude. And maybe lose a few of the beads and bangles tied up in your 'do...
Sadly, this restaurant has gone down hill. Very disappointing & overpriced experience. The staff were none that we had recognized from the past. The food was mediocre & delivered to the table it erratically. We were a four person party & nothing was served together. We even had other tables food brought to us in error many times! They will not survive much longer as Atlanta has a lot of competition when it comes to food industry. Too bad but we will not be returning as it was embarrassing.
Slow to get seated and slow to get food. Typical steakhouse experience
Service was excellent. Linguini was amazing. Love the ambiance.
Beef Wellington. Two words that will make anyone salivate, and it is definitely worth it. So tender and so fantastically well prepared.
Our main server had such an unnaturally high energy level that it made for a very awkward dining experience.
An hour and a half passed between placing our order and actually getting our food. We were starving and ended up being late to an event we had tickets for which started at 10pm. Super disappointing
That being said, the food and ambiance were 5-Star as always.
Fantastic food and fantastic service. The bartenders were great! Bob who greeted us was so sweet. Susan and Maurice gave us impeccable service and a great experience. We will be back!
Marcel is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The food and service are always outstanding whether you sit at the bar or in the restaurant.
Aaron our waiter was awesome and super knowledgeable! Everything we had was A+!
Excellent service and the food is out standing every time!
Beef bourgignon was outstanding; the oysters super fresh and service very friendly and fast.
Bob is a spectacular maître d’ And made our experience memorable!
Once again Marcel you guys knocked it out of the park. We had a wonderful meal with friends. It was their first time dining with you and they haven't stopped talking about it. The food is fantastic but one of the highlights for us is always the service. Thank you so much for being attentive and working so hard to deliver an excellent dining experience every single time. There aren't too many places like your restaurant. We will be back!
Marcel is always very good. This particular night, I had the best bone in NY Strip I have ever eaten. Very tender for a Strip, and with the expected flavor. Atlanta is blessed with several awesome steak houses and this is one of the best. Marcel does not disappoint, but they are also not shy about their top end of the $$$. Love the "pre course" included. Nice touch.
Service Impeccable...Food Spectacular...Ambience Amazing!
It was my second time to Marcel, and it was even better than the first! It was for a business dinner, and the service, food, and wine were all excellent.
The food was fantastic and unique. Marcel’s approach to old classics was so refreshing and genuine. The staff could not have been more friendly or professional if they tried. Susan, our head server, was simply outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, but had the rare skill of explaining things in an accessible and friendly manner without a hint of the snobbishness that sometimes afflicts others in her position. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is indeed quite expensive. In my opinion, however, the food and experience justified the price tag. Tip We went on a Monday night, which is much less busy. I think it can get much more crowded on the weekends.
The waitress charged card 2x which then went to decline by bank
used another card instead. had to call 2nd day for refund. waitress
was not attentive toward end of meal - after declining dessert she
left for good leaving bus person to deliver check.
The food is amazing, everyone loved everything that was ordered (steaks, salad, sides and dessert). I would highly recommend Marcel for a great steak!!
Great service! Excellent food!
From the Valet to the to the Host to our waiters everyone was friendly, professional and exceeded our expectations!
Absolutely our new favorite place! The food was absolutely everything amazing and more, and the service was beyond anything we have experienced in ATL ever. A hidden gem in a fabulous up and coming area of town. From cocktails/wine, to the incredible food, everything you experience through your sense is a delight.
We will be back, and we hope even more people enjoy this level of service and a dining experience. The chef, staff, and ambiance was something ATL has been needing more of.
Always a great night out. Whether at the bar or in the restaurant. Drinks, wine or champagne are delicious. Food is something of perfection. Service is impeccable.
Very good dinner for my gfs bday we balled out and i felt so player she def gave me vip treatment when we got home that night! 🎉🎉🎉
Lobster chowder and four gras turrune appetizers good, not great. Cote de boeuf and bone in NY strip were great. Delicious. Sides were of remarkable quality. Potato gratin and corn sides both 10s. Service attentive, knowledgeable, never intrusive. Noise level very comfy but environment a bit dim. Priciness will make this a twice a year treat, no more. Highly recommended.
I really like Marcel and have been there before; love the late night menu. This particular evening was off. It was a birthday celebration; a party of 3. The ambiance is lovely. Unfortunately, a lot of the food was very salty and I don't mind salt. The others in the party didn't partake in the sides ordered as much as we could have. The sides we ordered this time were mushrooms & potatoes au gratin. I will go again though, but this night was a bit disappointing with regard to the food, especially for the premium price for steaks.
Favorite in ATL. The food here is amazing. I keep coming back.
This was the perfect place to go before the attending the symphony.
Consistently one of the best in Atlanta. The steaks are amazing.
As usual, Marcel never disappoints. Only problem was we were seated in the bar area, which is very loud. Great food and service!
They asked what the occasion was (my birthday) and then ignored it. Then why ask?
incredible ambiance and excellent service. Very personable and professional wait staff. The food was excellent and overall it was a great experience. Price wise I felt is was a little steep, but the experience was great.
We came here to celebrate a birthday with friends. The staff was excellent. The restaurant is strangely very dark, to the point of being uncomfortable and worrisome. The foie gras was wonderful as an appetizer. I do not think for the price of an entree that we should have to pay an additional cost for a vegetable side dish or salad. Maybe one or the other but not both. Nothing was done for the birthday girl. No free dessert to share at the table, just a happy birthday note on the table. My friends who ordered the steaks thought that there was nothing super special about their steak which doesn't justify the price. I ordered the chicken and it was good and I liked the sauce but it was much cheaper than the steak. The sides were all very good.
Best steakhouse in west midtown.
As a West Midtown resident, I've dined at Marcel many times. I'm fortunate to have a local go-to steakhouse that happens to be one of the best in the city, if not the region, and I regularly choose Marcel over Hal's and Little Alley due to its romantic ambiance, throwback class, and of course the food. However, my most recent experience severely missed the mark. I made a reservation several weeks in advance to celebrate my engagement with my new fiancé's parents, as well as future mother-in-law's birthday. This was a highly anticipated evening. They were in town from Ohio, and we were excited to show them the best of what Atlanta has to offer. The dinner started out nice, with a very warm welcome and promise of good service. The bread was, as usual, to-die-for. But then, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes... went by before our waiter Tanner came over to admit that he had forgotten to put our order in the queue. He said it would be about 5 min, because he had now moved our order to first in line. But it was a solid 2 hrs from our reservation time before we were finally served our steaks. A restaurant manager did not come to apologize to us, which is well below the standard to which I would hold a restaurant of this caliber and price point. On top of this lack of managerial acknowledgement, our waiter put it upon us to determine our consolation, which I suppose was well-intended, but put us as customers in a very awkward position. Why not offer to comp the sides? Or heck, half of our two-hour old steak orders? We are patient and understanding people, but the lack of a heartfelt reconciliation or managerial response was really disappointing. Although the food was ultimately delicious and we enjoyed each other's extended company, it was very unfortunate that we experienced such terrible service on such a special occasion. Hopefully a fluke, but will definitely make us reconsider where we bring my own parents when they visit town to celebrate next.
Came here with my girlfriend and my parents for a special occasion. I’ve been hearing great things about the beef Wellington and also saw the cookies and cream baked Alaska on the menu (my favorite ice cream and dessert). I made the reservation 5 days before the dinner and requested the beef Wellington for two in the notes (for my mom and gf) I also called 2 days ahead to confirm the reservation and the steak. When we arrived the waiter confirmed our beef Wellington however came back and told us they mixed up and didn’t have it for us. They gave us a free steak, but we really only came for the beef Wellington and the baked Alaska. The appetizers were okay, my bone marrow was very good. I had the bone in ribeye which was alright. My dad had the veal which he didn’t enjoy much (says la grotta has the best in the city) my mom and gf shared the porterhouse which they thought was okay. We arrived at dessert time, the only thing that could redeem the beef Wellington debacle. THEY WERE OUT OF THE BAKED ALASKA! I’ll stick to chops or Rathbun’s if I want steak. The manager left her card and said she’d take care of us next time though. Maybe then I’ll get to try the beef Wellington...
Food was very salty but the customer service was amazing. Amazing bartenders
One of the best restaurants in Atlanta !
Unbelievably this was my first time at Marcel, but I hope it's not my last. My boss took me here for a birthday dinner and it was absolutely incredible. It was very lively and packed, at 6:30 on a Thursday night. We were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived and sat at the bar for the pre-dinner drink. There was a lovely handwritten "Happy Birthday" card on our table, too, which was thoughtful. The steaks and side dishes were great, the wine kept flowing, and the service was perfect - attentive but not annoying. Truly a lovely experience all around.
First time... loved the ambience and decor. Excellent food.
Always a treat coming here, the food is incredible and the staff is amazing.
