    We had a really disappointing experience at my daughter’s birthday dinner last night. From the moment we were seated, our server seemed frustrated and impatient. She audibly sighed when we weren’t immediately ready to order and rushed us, saying the kitchen was “closing soon.” We were confused by this, especially since another table was seated about 20 minutes after us and had no issue ordering off the full dinner menu. Throughout the evening, the waitress made us feel like a burden. She huffed and puffed at our questions and clearly didn’t want to be there. Then, when we were finally ready to pay, she was nowhere to be found. We asked multiple staff members for help, and still, she didn’t come to the table. We eventually noticed her casually chatting at the bar with a bartender. Thankfully, a different server we’ve had in the past recognized us and helped close out our check. The irony is, we were rushed through what was meant to be a special celebration, only to be completely ignored when it came time to pay. My daughter’s birthday dinner was overshadowed by a server who made the entire experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. A special evening was unfortunately tainted by someone who forgot to leave their attitude at home.

    Erica and Anthony were exceptional waiters and the food was exquisite! It was my birthday and I have always wanted to visit Marcel and it did not disappoint in any way. I have the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection along with the 10 layer chocolate cake.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — A Perfect Birthday Dinner Experience! I recently celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. Every member of the staff made us feel welcomed and genuinely cared for our experience. The food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. You can tell they put a lot of thought and heart into their menu. What really stood out was the extra care they showed. We mentioned feeling a bit chilly, and without hesitation, they brought out cozy blankets — such a thoughtful touch! They never rushed us, allowing us to take our time, enjoy each course, and really soak in the moment. It was the perfect setting for a special celebration. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend my birthday. My servers Eric & Allison were AMAZING! Highly recommend — can’t wait to go back!

    Marcel was amazing! Steak frites with bernaise, steak tartare, salad Marcel - all delicious! Servers Todd and Alison were very attentive and knowledgeable - recommendations on food/cocktail were spot on!

    Marcel is an above average steak house in Atlanta, but it is not the best, in spite of its hubristic and indulgent price points. Decor, ambiance, cocktails and wine are compelling. Service pleasant and above average. My compliments to Vino, the sommelier, who was affable, pleasant and knowledgeable. Steaks, which are the main driver, are *good* but not great, certainly not worth the price point. If you’re looking for a selfie or social media foray, by all means indulge. If visiting from otp or out of town it *might* be worth the splurge. Corporate types and entertainers will probably enjoy. However, if you’re a pure carnivore, go to Bones, which provides superior steaks at a better price point, and an unmatched level of service, Along with a formidable selection of libations. I have enjoyed marcel in the past; this was our first visit in 2 years. It’s unlikely that we will return in the future.

    First and last time at Marcel. Very disappointing as it was our first time, and we were celebrating a birthday. We were seated a half hour after our reservation, and we only got seated by reminding them we were there. The hostess was rude and condescending when we told her we were there for my birthday, and she said, “We don’t do that here,” whatever that means. Not welcoming at all and her attitude alone set the tone in a very negative way. The waitress, while much nicer and welcoming than the hostess, asked if we had any allergies. We informed her of a shellfish allergy, and she proceeded to recommend a shrimp apppetizer and to top our steaks with shellfish. Really wanted to try the veal parmesan, and was told they were out of veal at 8:30 on Saturday night. Wasn’t in the mood for steak as a friend of mine told me how spectacular the veal parmesan was, so went with the fish of the day. The halibut was so dry, I couldn’t cut it with a fork. Inedible. The potatoes dauphinois were so salty they were hard to eat, but they were marginally better than the fish. The sommelier was one of the only bright spots as he was very helpful and recommended a wonderful wine. Not a good sign when the best parts of the meal were the bread service and the creme brulee, to which they added a candle for my birthday. So I guess they do do that here. Totally over-rated, over-priced for the quality, and totally disapointing after looking forward to this night for over a month. DEFINITELY not worth the over $400 for the two of us we wasted on a Saturday night. The overall experience ruined what should have been a wonderful birthday dinner.

    Xavier was fantastic, so was Laura. Food was very good, but the Dauphinoise was too pungent for my liking. The Blueberry Pudding cake was mind blowing — get it, seriously. Ambiance was beautiful, we will definitely be back.
