   Dinner after the holidays with family. This was our second time visiting the restaurant on both occasions it was outstanding. Our party of four had several different appetizers as well as different entrées among us and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant when in New York City. Charming, ambience, and great food. You will not be disappointed.

   Food was excellent. We recommend the chef’s menu and wine pairing. Our waiter was a bit snobby. Rather than giving us a fork, he insisted that we eat with our hands. This should have been our choice. We also regret we didn’t receive the pralines that everyone else got at the end of their meal. So make sure you get those! Other than that, this is a great restaurant for a celebration and you will enjoy it. Good for a romantic evening out.

   Great food that is unique without being outright experimental. Service is knowledgeable and attentive without hovering, although the plate clearing the usual overly prompt NY style. Atmosphere is boisterous, with music at times and in places a bit loud, but it is not on a scale that I believe should really affect one's opinion of the restaurant overall. Prices reflect the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great meals.

    Great place for the foodie crowd, but would also have broader appeal. Short menu, but lots of intriguing dishes. Could just make a meal out of small plates or order a combination of starters and entrees. Good place for sharing dishes. Service was outstanding. We sat outside on a perfect evening so the noise level was good. We had a couple of starters to share. Everyone talks about the Chile Lobster, which was really good, but I thought the Hiramasa to share was outstanding. Really intriguing dish. We shared the Chicken under a Brick among 3 and it could have fed 4. One of us had the Black Bass, which was really good. I had not been in over 10 years and it was as good if not better than I recalled. I will not wait that long again to return.

    So we started out with some cocktails the Peas not war and spice up your life! Wow these were both fantastic. For the snacks we had the shishito peppers the flavor was great. We had the laotian sushi great mix of crunchy and spicy. Then the oysters these were my favorite. Then came the special which was a corn ravioli of some sort it worked it was delicious. We added on tomato tartare didnt think this would be anything spectacular but it sure was. The bread was crisp and had a great crunch. Then for dinner we had to try the snowdance farms chicken under a brick. I as a rule never order chicken when I go out to eat and my boyfriend won’t each chicken unless it’s a wing covered in sauce. Well I have never in my life had a chicken dish with so much moisture and flavor. He loved it! Thebroccoli rabe with it was fantastic as well.

    Only complaint: The hangar steak looked amazing but it had no flavor at all other than the earthy crust and accompanying ingredients. The meat itself did not taste like anything, which we did not expect. I took one bite and had it wrapped for my friend. Service was great and the ambience is perfect. Extremely expensive, but what isn't in NYC.

    Fabulous experience We had three small plates to share. Two of them were specials and we had to have the infamous chili lobster. All were deliciously fresh with intense flavor.

    Marc Forgione is a great spot - it was my birthday and they welcome me with a card signed by Chef Marc and a glass of Prosecco very thoughtful- I have been Marc’s customer for years and the chili lobster and chicken never ever disappoints. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Also that night I lost my shades I called and left a message just in case I dropped them there and I got a call back - super service . I got back my shades and the already amazing experience night before came as super amazing !! Thank you Marc Forgione and Crew

    Great ambience!!! Great service!! Paid a pretty penny but worth every cents. Excellent date night spot. Food was fabulous. The chili lobster was out of this world. Steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The 10 minute cookie made the evening that much sweeter. Definitely recommend

    This was one of the top 3 dining experiences of my life! Service was attentive and impeccable, thank you Nora! Right out of the gate, the shishitos were the best I've ever had followed by a tartar dish that was mouth watering...I had the skirt steak...tremendous and topped off by a delectable dessert. The drinks were unique and some of the best cocktails as evidenced by the fact that they offer Monkey47 Gin, a favorite of mine. A truly memorable and phenomenal experience!

    Our expectations were high for this Iron Chef restaurant and…they were met. Excellent service including the sommelier. It was a birthday dinner and because the restaurant knew that there were extras included—a birthday card at the table followed by a complimentary glass of nice and dry champagne. Food was excellent and we had an extra glass of wine in lieu of dessert.

    Better than ever. We had the shishito's to snack (which were limey and delicious), Hiramasa (like the old kampachi dish, with szechuan button), scallops with nduja and clams (unbelievably good, layered flavors, and no idea how they do that "cor in the Cob which wasn't "on the cob," but some sort of cob-shaped mass of corn and other goodies - yum), hubby had skate, and friends got the classic chicken under brick. Everything was presented beautifully but most important every single dish tasted amazing. Complex, balanced flavorings, perfectly prepared. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, attentive without hovering, and the Som was very helpful finding more offbeat selections. Forge has always been one of our "go to" restaurants, but it is now at the very top of our list.
