Marc Forgione Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing! It was everything we had hoped for. Our server was Mark and it was his first day but we would have never guessed. He was attentive and knowledgeable. Carlos was fantastic as well. He spent time talking to us and even brought over an extra dessert. They were so friendly and accommodating. We even got to speak to Marc Forgione who came out into the dining room several times. Great experience!
We have been going to Marc Forgione for 6 years, each time for my boyfriend's birthday. Always amazing food and the ambiance is perfect. The food is excellent, the service is stellar and the drinks are very good. We have seen Marc almost every year we have gone, he is super nice and appreciative. Can't go wrong here!
Ive been to this restaurant a few times and every time i go it really is a great experience. The menu changes all the time and the food is always excellent. When i booked the restaurant, i noted that it was my husbands birthday and they left a hand written note on the table for him. It was a really nice touch. One of my favorite places to go.
Every dish the four of us had was outstanding. The service was almost too good to the point that initially we thought we were being rushed and then were a bit perplexed by the ever changing but always helpful and cheerful staff that served us. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and obviously wanted to go to a notable place. From start to finish, we were greeted and treated. They had a birthday card waiting for him, we got a solid back corner table so it felt intimate. Complimentary champagne toast and soup bowl with everything bagel bite (that they're known for). Food is absolutely fantastic. Shishito peppers, chili lobster and oxtail to start. I had the cod and he had the chicken for one (still ample for two).
Overall amazing and want to head back ASAP. My only con (with most upscale ish NYC spots), is that other than the main courses, the starters/sharers are overpriced for the portion. Otherwise, KEEP IT UP!
We had a amazing time here. The staff was incredibly nice, and even wrote out a card for my boyfriend's birthday, and gave us complimentary champagne and some banana muffins.
The food was really good! They do their meats far better than their seafood (which are still pretty good) and if I were to come again I think I'd stick to the meats.
We chose Marc Forgione for our anniversary dinner and it was wonderful. A thoughtful, hand-written card awaited us at the table, and our wonderful server poured us complimentary champagne and brought us complimentary aperitifs and a small dessert. We were even sent home with a small dessert wrapped up to go, also for free.
The meal itself was delicious. We shared the chili lobster to start and it had just the right amount of spice, and the lobster and Texas toast were delicious together soaked in the sauce.
My husband and I shared the chicken, which is more than enough for two hearty eaters, and it was exquisite. Our server recommended spooning the caper sauce over the chicken and potatoes and that was delicious.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was amazing, as were the atmosphere and ambience. I loved the rustic yet chic and contemporary aesthetic and lighting. I would definitely eat here again.
The food was excellent, and executed perfectly. We let our server know that my wife is a pescetarian and they were sure to bring her great substitutions for anything we ordered for the table that had meat or broth.
There were a few small issues with service that I would not have expected at a restaurant like this. The server had to go check on several items that were regular on them menu. At one point a bus boy came over and started reaching across our table of four to wipe it down as we were all in mid conversation when it wasn't messy. I still consider the service to be good and would definitely return for the food.
Amazing! We celebrated our 31st anniversary and Marc, Ryan our waiter and Karen the sommelier we’re all spectacular!!!! The food surprised all our senses ... each dish on the tasting menu outdid the last... must go with the tasting menu.. Marc creates some truly unique and absolutely delicious masterpieces. We are counting the minutes until we return!
We had an absolutely delicious meal at Marc Forgione! My mother and sister were in town to help me buy a wedding dress, so I wanted to treat them to a nice meal as a thank you. We shared two starters: the shishitos, which were delicious and simply prepared, and the harimasa, which was so delicious and intricate, we couldn't stop talking about it! We then shared the halibut, which was so good but got a little lost compared to the chicken under a brick, which everyone absolutely raved about. We finished off with the chocolate chip cookies and melted ice cream, which was delicious but put us just over the edge into feeling totally stuffed. The ambiance is just stunning, such soft lighting and all that wood. I will definitely be back with my fiance, such a great place!
We were having a Girls weekend in NYC (we were visiting from Toronto) and Marc's came highly recommended. The decor was beautiful and the restaurant had great ambiance. We were welcomed warmly even though we were late (New York traffic!) and our server was friendly. Our drinks were absolutely delicious and so was our meal. My only complaint would be that our server was quite aggressive with her menu recommendations and pushed us to order WAY too much food. We wanted to order the Chilli Lobster and we were leaning toward the Tomahawk. She said that would not be enough food for 3 ladies and told us to order 2 appetizers and the Chicken Under a Brick as well as the Halibut. I understand that the chicken is "sharing for 2" but it was way too much food and we barely touched the chicken as we were so full from the 2 appetizers and the Halibut. We asked for a moment to think about how much we wanted to order before deciding but she insisted that we would not have enough food. There was a table of in front of us who were unable to finish the chicken after their appetizers as well!
The food definitely did not disappoint but it would have been nice to not have felt forced into ordering that much food!
I've been here for dinner and really enjoyed it, so was surprised to have such a disappointing brunch. For the price point, this was just very much not worth the experience. The food was fine, but not great. The eggs in the benedict were undercooked, with very runny whites (does that creepy anyone else out?), bacon was soggy (which is extra surprising since I asked for it "so burnt, they would consider throwing it out" -- yes, I'm weird) and the French Toast was so sickly sweet, I could have only a few bites. Wouldn't go back for brunch.
