Marathon - 19th & Market
I was always a big fan of the Marathon Grill but haven’t eaten there in a few years. I was really disappointed when I tried it again. They used to have the best hand cut fries. Now they are bland fries you could make yourself from a bag. Also, the special, blackened Mahi Mahi, was tasty but short on the fish. What a disappointment except for the service which was awesome.
The veggie burger, while tasty, fell apart. I would not order it again - especially in these days where the Beyond Burger and Impossible Burger are readily available elsewhere.
Food is delicious! I’ve consistently had great lunches here. Butternut squash soup is delicious when they have it. Salads are also fantastic!
Love marathon but start upping your game! I asked for hot water and lemon and the water was only slightly warm. Too many croutons on the Caesar salad but chicken was deliciously cooked!
Quick meal! Perfect for a lunch break with colleagues.
Best service!!! French onion balls are to die for! I will be craving them again soon!
It was very disappointing expirience: the restaurant didn’t honor our reservation since the had a private event.
The shouldn’t allow to book a table if they knew it in advance.
They appologized but not really.
Offered us to go to another their location which we didn’t have time for
They didn’t even made an effort to compensate in a nice way - coupon for next dinner or whatever. They’ve clearly shown that they didn’t care. Never again.
I make an occasional business breakfast meeting for the SVP Joseph Hill, even though he does not let me know how his experience was. He keeps coming back. So that is a very strong sign that you are doing great!
Thank you, Susan
No record of reservation
We needed a great, quick spot to eat as we were waiting for the Eagles parade to start. We booked a reservation as we were on the train from DC to Philly and we got there, were seated immediately, even though it was a mad house. Service took a while, but it was expected as it was incredibly busy. Food was hot, delicious, and the server and hostess stand were extremely professional. Would definitely come back again when we are back in Philly. Husband got pancakes, eggs and hash browns and I got the breakfast quesadilla and hash browns/potatoes. Both were delish. Wish I had gotten his pancakes. They were amazing!!!
We enjoyed breakfast before the Eagles parade. The restaurant was able to handle the steady flow of people with reservations and walk-ins. Our food was good and the atmosphere was fun.
I make an occasional business breakfast meeting for my boss Joseph, even though he does not let me know how his experience was. He keeps coming back. So that is a very strong sign that you are doing great!
Thank you, Susan
The food was great. However we got there at 5pm on a Friday and were disappointed to find that the restaurant was closing at 6pm. Because of that, it was empty which felt someone awkward.
Piping hot veggie wrap grilled just right, and a side of delicious sausage split for grilling.
Place was almost empty. Limited menu. Good for happy hour but not for dinner.
The menu options for happy hour were very limited and the ervice was slow.
More of a bar scene for area offices than a typical Marathon dining spot. We went for an early dinner, and this location has a limited dinner menu. Food was fine, and our waitress was excellent.
Stopped in on a very rainy night, wanted simple clean dishes as we were running a race the following day. Place was not super busy but the food was spot on and at an exceptional value. Service was quick and friendly.
Awesome service and great food, especially for the price. HIGHLY recommend a yogurt smoothie! And the chicken Cobb salad with freshly cooked bacon.
Made reservation for 7:45 then they said they close at 8
I ordered a glass of wine and was told that they were out of glasses - we sat down and were given the happy hour menu and told that that was the menu for the night, prompting us to want to leave at which point the server (who told us she was not actually a server) arrived with legit menus. The food was great, but the other notes above made for a less enjoyable experience.
Nice place to have a business lunch. Wait staff very accommodating and kind. My dish (pasta with veggies) was very salty but my guest had a burger and fries that was very tasty. The appetizer sampler was fair.
When we arrived at the restaurant, there were chains on the doors with a message that they were under construction. It was raining at the time and we were meeting 3 other couples making it hectic and inconvenient. We ended up going to another marathon location where the experience was fine.
I here for my birthday, and can say my night was the highlight of the whole day!
I took a $7 uber rude to get to Marathon and upon arriving found that this location was a bar and not a restaurant. There was no hostess stand. I was confused about where I was at and flagged down a waitress who apologized and said that they were hosting some kind of Wednesday after work summer festival. This was not what I was looking for and not how the Open Table website described the place. I wasn't looking for a loud bar. I was looking for a restaurant so I left and walked five or six blocks to find a decent place to eat dinner. This experience was a huge hassle and disappointment.
